Photos Every Sunday

Last Sunday we took these photos after church. Connor asked if we are going to take photos every Sunday. "YES! What a great idea Connor!" I don't think that is what he had in mind when asking that question. Grammy and Papa and Granny and Smack Pack, these photos are for you!

Wrightsville/Wilmington Beach

Mike had a conference in Wrightsville Beach Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this week. Cora and I decided to tag along. Friday was a meet and greet with a bunch of Sports Medicine Doctors. Cora was a perfect magnet to get people to come to the GE booth. With a face like this, who could resist stopping:
Saturday, Mike had to work until about 12:30. So Cora and I kept him company playing Ticket to Ride on our new ipad. Then we went to the beach for about an hour and a half. We checked out of that hotel and went to the Hilton in Wilmington. This hotel is on the riverfront. It has a cute little downtown feel with a boardwalk from the hotel to the main drag where we went to Kilwins and got icecream after eating at Ruths Chris. YUMMY! We decided to take advantage of the beautiful sunset behind the aircraft carrier. The top photo is another photo idea I saw on http://pinterest.com.

Here is the original photo I saw on Pinterest:
Today is Sunday. Mike had to leave early this morning to go to the conference. I am stuck at the hotel with no car. I looked to see if there was a church near by and it was definately NOT walking distance. So I decided to have my own little Sunday lesson. I went on my new ipad and looked up in the Gosple Library a lesson from the Gospel Principles book. Having been in Primary for the last year, I have no idea what lesson they are on. So I decided to pick a topic.
I picked lesson 24: The Sabbath Day. In it is states:
We should consider righteous things we can do on the Sabbath. For example, we can keep the Sabbath day holy by attending Church meetings; reading the scriptures and the words of our Church leaders; visiting the sick, the aged, and our loved ones; listening to uplifting music and singing hymns; praying to our Heavenly Father with praise and thanksgiving; performing Church service; preparing family history records and personal histories; telling faith-promoting storis and bearing our testimoy to family members and sharing spiritual experiences with the; writing letters to missionaries and loved ones; fasting with a purpose; and sharing time with children and others in the home.
So I decided to listen to the mormon tabernacle choir channel on pandora radio while preparing personal histories by blogging to you all as well as write a letter to missionaries and loved ones. So, to my parents and to my In-Laws who are both serving missions, I am writing to you. In fact, I am making the goal to post at least once a week each Sunday so that you can keep up with us while on your missions. We love you and miss you. We know that the work you are doing is well worth the sacrifice we have made to not see you. Happy Sunday!

I Heart Pinterest!

My cousin Laura turned me onto a new website that I am so addicted to! Pinterest.com is a place to store and remember all the little things you know you will forget later. Well, you can follow others and see what they too are pinning. I have found some really fun stuff on there. On of the things I saw was this:

Actually what I saw was this:
But I took this photo and made it my own. The top one with red letters is actually Cora's Feet. So then I combined the two ideas and came up with this:
So if you ever look at web sites and think, "I wish I could remember that..." then go check out Pinterest.com. Let me know if you want an invitation.

My own little Gerber Baby

I have had many people tell me that Cora looks like the Gerber baby. I decided to check it out myself.

If only I had taken off her headband so you could see the natural mohock/alfalfa that she has in the front. What do you think?

Connor's Last Day of Kindergarten

Connor on his first day of school:
June 30th was Connor's last day of Kindergarten. He was so cute! We went for and awards presentation, slide show and picnic. He got the Luckiest Leprechaun Award.

I put together scrapbooks for each of the teachers. We gave them the scrapbooks and then had a picnic. After the picnic, they gave us approval to take the kids home. As we were walking out, Connor started to tear up. He said he was going to miss all of his friends since he will be moving to a new school in the fall. He decided to stay at school for the rest of the day.

Cora 3 Months

This is Cora's 3 Month photo. We took it in her blessing dress. We blessed her in Ireland in Aunt Zetta's cottage. Aunt Zetta made this beautiful dress for Zetta to be blessed in. Since we were blessing her in Zetta's cottage, we thought it was very appropriate that she wear the beautiful dress too!

Happy Birthday Monkey!

This week we celebrated Connor's birthday. Growing up we were allowed to have a party every other year. We decided to adopt this tradition for our family. But on the off years, the child gets to go on a date with mom and dad. The child gets to pick the dinner joint and activity. Connor chose McDonalds (which the new Rolo McFlurry is SO YUMMY!!!) and lazer tag. We went to a place called Frankies to play Lazer tag. It was lots of fun. Then we blew some money on the arcade games. Skee ball was our favorite.

Connor's Favorites:

Favorite Color: Red, Orange and Black
Favorite Food: Burritos
Favorite TV Show: Pheneas and Ferb
Favorite Past Time: Play computer games (Club Penguin and Mario Brothers)
Favorite Sport: Basketball
Favorite Toy: Geo Trax

Thanks for the hot date Connor!
