I finally was able to get him smiling on camera! My friend Naomi came to visit and he is all smiles and laughs for her, so I got out the camera this time. I was stealth so he wasn't distracted by my camera. Cutie baby boy!

Videos of Wesley
Wesley has been doing some fun things lately that we got on video. Here they are:
He is suddenly ticklish
Wesley loves sitting up straight and has started trying to do it on his own. He reminds me of myself at the end of my pregnancy...
Brigham got Wesley laughing really hard at a church activity.

3 months
This month he has started talking a lot. He will hold a conversation with you where you talk, and he talks back. He is making more noises, and likes to make this noise with his spit that is entertaining and I can't even imitate. It is fun to see him trying out different things with his tongue and seeing what noises he can make. He watches our mouths a lot when we talk now.
He also can roll from his back to his side. When I set him on his changing table he almost automatically rolls to his side now.
He also started laughing! The first one came at Thanksgiving dinner when everyone was laughing, and he joined in. We heard this little squeaky laugh and were shocked. Best thanksgiving ever. Now Brigham can get him going where he laughs and laughs at him. Cutest thing ever.
He has really started discovering his hands, and being able to get them to his mouth. I don't think he will have dry hands for a while now... He can sometimes even just get his thumb in his mouth, instead of trying to shove both fists in. Gone are the days of grudgingly accepting a pacifier when he can have his hands. He will have none of it now.
He is also starting to grab things, and getting interested in toys. He will swat at, and grab the toys on his play gym now. The monkey is no longer allusive to him. It is cute because he will just stick his right fist in the air straight up, and look at it. I can tell he is trying to figure out how that thing works! Overall he is just much more aware of us, and his environment. We can no longer claim he doesn't know who we are because he has shown a strong preference for us when with strangers. Even when it would be nice to just hand him off for a little bit...
He is also apparently going to be blonde. At least he has blonde roots now. I love my little dark haired baby, and it will be weird to see that change. And he reached maximum cuteness the other day. I actually had to look away because I couldn't handle how cute he was. I am just a little obsessed with this little guy.

2 Months!
Wesley is 2 months old now. Sheesh. He keeps getting cuter and cuter too. I feel like he's learned a lot this month, but I think that is going to keep happening every month. He is determined to grow up and be more independent. This month the smiles started big time. I'm talking the two dimple, massive grin type of smiles. He also started making more noises. Coos and sighs and stuff. He is starting to try out talking. He will make some noise, and wait for you to talk back. It is really fun.
He is also pushing himself up more when he is in tummy time. He watches us like crazy, and smiles huge whenever his Daddy comes in the room. He has much better head control, and pretty much holds it up himself all day long (which means no more cuddles on my shoulder- sigh..). He is also starting to put weight on his legs and trying to stand. He will step a couple steps when he does this. Not a reflex this time!
He has this monkey toy that hangs off of his play mat, that he just stares at. He is getting better and better at batting at it too. Getting much better arm control. He grabs stuff now too-like my hair. He also is perfecting getting his fist in his mouth. He has not really liked pacifiers since day one, so he is happy to have something he likes to suck on now. He even gave himself his first hickey the other day from sucking on his wrist.
He likes walks still, but prefers to sit in the stroller facing out, so he can see everything. He will only be happy when I'm holding him if he can face out too. He is so interested in the world, and wanting to experience everything!
I tried really hard to get him to smile for the photo shoot, but I had to be too far away for him to see my face enough to smile at me. But he really does smile all of the time! Maybe next month.

I can't get enough of this boy!
We went for a walk to the park last Saturday so I could get some pictures of Wesley in natural light. He looks good in florescent lighting, but he looks amazing in natural light!

Happy Halloween!
We braved going to a pumpkin patch with the little one, in order to get some cute pictures of him for his first Halloween! I love Halloween and wanted to celebrate his first, even if he won't remember it or care right now. He did like looking at everyone, and loves being outside, so he did enjoy it somewhat too.
