Home ownership

We own a house now. Well, the bank owns most of it, but we don't have a landlord anymore. Pretty exciting. And scary. It is an old house with some work needed. But it has potential and a bigger yard. The list of things needing to be fixed feels pretty big. Especially considering I know nothing about stuff like that. But I guess I'll learn. And we have finally found a good contractor to help us with stuff. We aren't moving in yet, needing to do a few things to the house to make it livable. Here is a short list of things we need to do:

-Remove popcorn ceilings and paint
-New carpet
-Install A/C
-Remove nasty bushes in the front yard- really a want, but I attacked some of them today and it felt good.
-Fix scary electrical work
-Remove really bad mold problem in a closet

Then theres the stuff that I would like to do before we move in because it would be easier:

-Remove kitchen laundry area and move laundry to the garage
-Remove gross fireplace- easier to do before we put in the new carpet
-Yard work like crazy.
-Remove dangerous canopy things in the backyard
-Remove weird white gate to the house
-Get water to fridge area
- And we are thinking about adding on to the house to get the  master bedroom more than a 5 ft by 5 ft bathroom, and to fix this really weird layout to the house where there is a strange hallway tucked behind the front door that leads to the Master bedroom and makes it super far from where Wesley will be sleeping

It feels like such a crazy project. We are totally clueless about this stuff. But this is the house we were able to get. And we are going to make it our home. And I keep telling myself that we will survive this! And I got Wesley some really cute gardening toys- like a mini watering can and push broom, for 70% off at Target today. Lots to be excited about too!
Scary structure in backyard. Look cool, but its leaning toward the house

Cool covered patio in the back

Nice Kitchen, especially after that laundry closet is gone!

Mold we discovered when we got the keys....

I can't tell you how excited I am that he left this statue! It will be in our family for a long time now!

10 months!

Milestones:

-Month of teething! He has gotten 6 teeth this month, and they were his first teeth! Four on top, and 2 on the bottom. Ouch!
-He has started sharing things with me. Food, toys, etc. Its cute as long as it wasn't in his mouth right beforehand.
-He started liking mangos. Which is a big deal to me with how much I love them.
-Used a spoon successfully to feed himself
-Passed the mark of being outside of the womb longer than he was inside of it.
-He attempted to kiss one girl at a birthday party, but she was an older woman and was able to step back. He was aiming for her stomach anyway.
-He succeeded in kissing my friends daughter who is 6 weeks younger than him. He got her right on the lips too. Super cute. Later he pulled her hair, he is a baby after all...
-He started clapping, and gave his first high five.
-He is a cruiser now. Really good at pulling up to standing, transferring amongst furniture, and likes us to help him walk. He also squatted for the first time (no he wasn't pooping).
-He is a master at gleeking. Has a perfect stream.

Favorite Things:

-Still cats. We got to the pet store to look at the kittens at least once a week.
-Still books. He is getting good at turning the pages himself now though.
-Megan and Makenna. His first kiss was Megan, but I was able to leave and when I came back he didn't care because Makenna was there. Normally he charges for me and my boobs.
-Swimming, and sand
-Bananas, watermelon, fish, avocados, mangos, yogurt
-Stairs
-The bathroom
-Being naked
-Banging on stuff
-Waving

What he is like:

-He is such a teething champion! He has maintained a pretty happy attitude through the whole ordeal.
-He is very determined about everything. If he wants a book he won't let up until he gets it, etc. He gets so focused on stuff. I love his concentrated face. Too cute.
-He still loves to laugh. He is getting his own sense of humor, and finding new things funny.
-He gets so excited about things, like animals or other kids. But he gets shy when they get up close to him. I don't think he's had much opportunity to play with other kids since he's an only child.
-He has no fear of some things. Like swimming, or heights, or dogs, or the vacuum. But he is still scared to death of this bubble maker thing we got him. No idea why.
-He is able to learn things really well, and play games with us now. He is picking up words, and meaning of things so fast. He can wave hello when I just say "Say hi!" He knows when Brigham says bath time what that means, or when I put on my sunglasses that we are going outside. He is able to copy us pretty well. Which has let to some games of 'catch' with Brigham where he will throw the ball back to Brigham.

He loves his kitty!

How he likes to play with his jumparoo now...
