Summer 2017:Week 5

Our friend Dave was in town on July 2nd so we had him over for a BBQ at our house and then headed up City Creek Canyon to relax.  We wised up and took the hammock this time.

We had fun exploring the local trails.

Dave has such a fun connection with our kids.  He plays with them and gets them to laugh.  We forgot to bring water with us...but he was kind enough to share.

On July 3rd we headed up to Eaglewood Golf Course for our traditional fireworks show.  My best friend Amy's family always welcomes us to their spot with open arms.  They make us all feel like part of the family.

I loved seeing the kids all dressed up in patriotic clothing...Zoe and Phin.

This has got to be one of my favorite pictures from the night.  Zoe and Millie ran around hand-in-hand chasing Phin's monster truck.

The kids loved doing Pop-Its together.

Barb also shared some bubbles.

Someone close to us was having a birthday party...and was kind enough to share their slide.  Millie literally had to be dragged away...she is a slide addict.

I believe popcorn was how we finally got her away from the slide...another one of her addictions.

How grateful I am for this crew of mine.

We watched two guys parachute out of this helicopter and land near the pond.  Not to long after that the firework show started.  I love these summer nights we get to spend as a family and with our best friends.

July 4th we did some shopping...here we are at Sportsman's Warehouse.

July 5th we headed to Nona's to spend the day hanging out with cousins.  Phin helped me make a little pudding treat.

My cousin Rachelle was in town from New Mexico and was able to come over for my Mom's birthday dinner.  She brought glow sticks with her...which was a huge hit with the kids.

Rachelle is such a positive influence in my life. I so wish that Utah and New Mexico were a  little bit closer so we could see each other in-person more often!

On July 6th Phin's swimming lessons continued.  He had a male teacher this go around which I think was very good for him.

Then we picked up sweet Carver and headed to the splash pad.

Millie saw some other kids trying to drink out of the fountain...and tried her hand at doing the same...luckily she wasn't very good at this trick.

After the splash pad we leaded to the local Elementary school for lunch.

That afternoon we walked to our local park for Farmer's Market....Carver thought there was some great people watching to be done.

My dad was exec of the day at Lagoon on July 7th and we had a little cousins party out there to celebrate.  Phin and Rachelle's youngest, Griffin, rode rides together all day.

This trip also happened to be Carver's first.  I took a photo of Jeff and Carver next to our favorite wall.  Jeff's trailer was actually painted by the same artist...who is a friend of Jeff's from Elementary School.

My dad was able to reserve a Terrace for all of the cousins to meet for lunch.  It was fun to visit with my cousin Cloe and her kids as well as my cousin York's daughter Darby.

After lunch we hit up the waterpark.

Then we rode a few more rides and said goodbye to cousins.

Phin and Millie both fell asleep on the way home from Lagoon...which was perfect because that night we headed to the Drive-In movie theater with some of our Clemson friends.

Brian and Alisha scheduled the Drive-In get together.  They were visiting from Pennsylvania.  We saw Despicable Me 2 and Cars 2.

We woke up early the next morning and drove to Mendon for our niece Aunara's baptism.  I failed to get any pictures of Aunara...but my amazing sister-in-law Abby took some fabulous photos of Millie.

Jill had organized a yummy grilled cheese bar for lunch.  Then the kids played in water to cool off.

Phin fell in love with game drip drip drench.

Phin was asleep before we even made it to the freeway.  The whole week honestly made me feel the same way!
