Last night I had a dream in which I was talking to a man from Papua New Guinea and he asked if I had received his letter.
In this dream the man said, “Six weeks ago, I sent you a letter requesting your president to send us a Bible translator. After six weeks, no translator has come. What is taking so long? Don’t we deserve the Bible too?”
The dream was so lifelike that I woke up in the middle of the night with a heavy heart and urgency to help the overlooked peoples of this world. I asked God to send this people His Word and to work through our ministry to correct this dubious injustice. The sad part is that this story isn’t just a dream. Many of the places who have asked for translations have waited longer than six weeks –some have waited years and decades.
The plight of these beautiful children of God puts a fire in my bones that I cannot contain. We MUST keep working diligently, keep praying expectantly and keep believing that God is going to move in this generation to finish the task! I continue to ask, “Why not us, why not now!?”
