ETA: I think that I might have been misunderstood or that my argument above might have been misconstrued. I do not mean to say that I agree with either Buffy or Heroes as anti-feminist shows. When I said that the arguments were good ones, I mean that they are logical, well-presented and have supporting evidence instead of resorting to "Well, Buffy cried once!" and that sort of logic.
My argument above, regarding the Heroes characters, was to disagree with ascertations made to support how the characters are portrayals of anti-feminism and how they are characters who respond a certain way and behave in certain manners which are fully in character for how they are written.
Weather: It's freaking cold outside. I mean, really really freaking cold. There are snow flurries blowing around and I've turned my space heater back on.
. . . and yesterday it was 80 degrees. Everyone say it with me: WTF??
Television: I miss "Heroes." I need my fix. Anyone recommend any good "Heroes" fic?
And "House." You know what I would really, really like to see? (Ok, quick digression, how many Buffy actors have appeared on an episode of "House" to date? Adam Busch, Tom Lenk, Michelle Trachtenberg, Marc Blucas . . . did I miss any?)
What I'd really like to see on "House" is Cameron-Chase-Foreman actually being right and House being wrong and the House-ettes scoring one big one for the team. But, maybe that's just me.
Also, "Grey's Anatomy"? Stop being a frickin' soap opera and get back to the real drama. Sheesh.
This week was my turn. I got hit by some sort of stomach/intestinal thing that has had me down for two days. I finally crawled up and out of bed about an hour ago in the hopes that I my fever has broken and I can eat something. I'm tired, I'm wiped, and I really hate being sick.
I'm sure there was way more I wanted to say, but I'm too tired right now to remember it.
In other news, does anyone visit Television Without Pity? Is it down or is it me? I know the site's hardly redemptive, but it's the one place I can get full-scale blow-by-blow recaps on my favorite shows when I miss them and the Digital Video Recorder hard drive takes a dump. I'm now a few episodes behind on "House" and "Grey's Anatomy" and don't know anywhere else to get the sort of recap that TWoP gives.
All right, so I missed the pilot and came in on what I believe to be the second episode. I admittedly, am not a science person, so I'm sure I missed something major but ...
Okay, this question is for the friends on my f-list who are big House fans (or little House fans, because you might know the answer.)
I've been watching House first season epis on USA reruns, and second season repeats on FOX. It has to be the most confusing way to watch a television show. Anyway, I'm slowly pulling everything out and making sense of things, but I've been wondering about the supporting cast namely Chase and Foreman:
What's Chase's backstory (that we know of?) So far, I've caught the following: seminary school (real or a lie?), Dad died of lung cancer. Anything else?
And Foreman? All I know is that he's a neurologist, he has a juvi record and something's wrong with his Mom.
Let me backtrack a bit and say I watched Dr. Who in the "old" days *snort*. I don't know which Doctor(s) it was because I was never such a fan to keep track of meaningless details like that (in fact, I didn't realize that the Doctor had various incarnations until within the last decade; I always thought they just decided to get new actors). I know that one was Tom Baker and that's pretty much all. I don't recall companions or adventures or anything of the sort. Basically, I watched the show with my mother 'cause she was a huge Dr. Who fan and it never impressed me. I could have taken Dr. Who or left it, and quite frankly if Mom wasn't around, I left it, unless it was leading it to something that I wanted to watch.
Well, Stargate SG-1 was a fun ride for nine wonderful season. I've just seen the Season 10 Series Premiere spoiler and ... well, I think that if any of it is accurate, Stargate will be jumping the shark sometime in July (when Season 10 begins).
