U.S. Embassy in Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, and Tuvalu

The United States Embassy in Suva is pleased to advise resident nationals of Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga and Tuvalu that the Fulbright Foreign Student Program Scholarships for academic year 2027-2028 will be OPEN for applications on February 2, 2026.

Ambassador Scholarship Fund for Summer Work Travel (SWT) recipients (known as BridgeUSA Ambassador Scholars) will travel to the United States for up to four months during their university year-end holidays (in the Pacific Island region, this will generally be for about two months from December to January). You will be matched with host employers in seasonal communities throughout the United States, and will work in seasonal, entry-level jobs with a high-level of interaction with American colleagues and guests. Recipients will meet, work, live with and learn from both people of the United States and other international students while sharing daily experiences.

The Community Solutions Program (CSP), sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and implemented by IREX, provides community leaders from around the world with an intensive, professional development exchange program in the United States from August to December 2025. CSP fellows gain valuable experience in community work and strengthen their capacity for leadership and development in their home countries.

The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the 2027–2028 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program for citizens of Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, and Tuvalu. Applications are now open until July 31, 2026.

The U.S. South Pacific Scholarship Program (USSP), a competitive, merit-based scholarship program provides opportunities for Bachelor and Master’s degree study at the University of Hawai’i.
