Friends Only - Sort of . . .

I do lock a lot of my posts but that's because of the sheer number of posts I sometimes indulge in.  I don't mind adding new people (if you think you can keep up with my chatter! ^.^)  so feel free to add me!

I'm open to new friends so feel free to add me. I'd appreciate a quick "hello! I added you!" note so I can friend you back right away but you don't have to (but just realize it might be a week or two before I realize you've added me and need to be added back) ^.^

Thanks! And I look forward to getting to know you!

I'm bored.  I should watch a show to alleviate that. But what should I put in? *contemplates the Taka shelf*

Found this on You Tube and it's a scream! XD

Original Video Author's comment : I manipulated the audio tracks from the Eigo Noto CD (a cd that we used to teach grade school level English in Japan), and made this adult instructional video out of it. This video, surprisingly, won first place in the Fukuyama Film Festival 2010. Thank you to everyone who helped me make this video!

YouTube link so you can leave a comment if you liked it ^.^ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQrfiJ2WFeQ

This killed me and really made my day XD

Kuze Seika came to see Mizu's show yesterday. Kuze was Mizu's top star when she was in Tsukigumi and Mizu portrayed two of her roles during her shinjinkoen years. This makes me really happy!  I hope Kuze is proud of her not-so-little-anymore baby  ^.^

Just for a reference their highest number of new accounts in a day was
newbyday 2009-05-01 54663
So still not the highest amount of new accounts ever created in one day but definitely more then normal. (Kind of curious about what happened that first week of May 2009 to create those spikes though)

Just a post to give a big congratulations to Matt for completing his walk across the northern part of the United States. Matt began his walk in Rockaway Beach, NY in March and rolled into Rockaway Beach, OR late last week. He had the guts to quit his job, make up some google maps, get a cart, and just start walking. That took a lot of courage (and a lot of ambition to even contemplate walking across the US) and I reall respect him for that. I'm sure there will be a book about it sooner or later and I look forward to it. I'd been following his daily blog updates and now . . . now I miss logging in to read about his adventure! Maybe he'll decide to walk across the southern states next :)

http://imjustwalkin.com/ <- That's his blog though if you've never been there you should start here (http://imjustwalkin.com/2010/03/) and begin reading from Day 1 ^.^

Now . . . there is a LOT going on in this photo but there is one thing that successfully managed to distract me from everything else.

Look at the black symbol around her neck and tell me that is not the Kingdom Hearts "Nobodies" symbol.

That is all I can stare at now *laughs*

Paperback Swap is like my new most favorite thing ever! Not only does it allow me to get some of these books out from under foot, it also allows me to collect new ones (for basically free). I've managed to get rid of 8 books in the last 36 hours alone. Whee!

Yay internet! The things you make possible never ceases to amaze me ^.^

Now to figure out what show I want to watch tonight. *peruses selection*

Dorian says . . .

. . . ever get the feeling something is behind you, watching you? (that's the cat's favorite spot to bird watch, btw)

This is totally relevant for today because there is an awful lot of movement going on in this office >.> *orders everyone to sit down and quit distracting her*

Also, I want my dinner shows and baby Hoshigumi goods now customs. Quit watching my stuff and forward them to me already!

PS: You all might be interested to know that summer is almost over, so says the molting parrot who is busy working on getting those winter feathers in.

So today I am wearing my Edgeworth IObject! Tee-shirt (the red one in this photo and no, that's not me *laughs*) around my small little corn field and horse-strewn town and I feel the need to get some lunch.

So I go to the local Wendys and I pull up to the drive thru window and the drive thru cashier stares at me and goes "No way!" And then he looks over his shoulder to see if anyone is watching before he pulls up his work shirt to show me that he was wearing the blue Phoenix one underneath!

So. Awesome. XD

Is anyone "bot129@plurk.com" on plurk? I don't think anyone is (since it's got "bot" in it) but I just want to check before I give that request the ban hammer ^.^

Now, time to make some food!

We ran into the other Elisabeth cosplayers (Lucheni and der Tod) ! That makes me so happy ^.^ I have no idea if they're on LJ though so I can't tell you all who they are *laughs* Their costumes were very nice though!

Also, we ran into them during the whole evacuation thing (the fire alarm went off in the convention center and they had to evacuate all 20,000 of us) so that made an annoying situation much more tolerable!

*claps happily*

Also, there's supposedly going to be an Elisabeth bit during the masquerade, which is also very exciting. I guess this year is just the year for Elisabeth stuff! (and people are actually recognizing the costumes, which was both surprising but exciting as well). So that brings the Otakon Elisabeth tally to 1 Elisabeth, 2 der Tods, and 3 Luchenis. We'll see how that changes after the Masquerade.

Alright is there some kind of Romeo and Juliet anniversary coming up? Or . . . I don't know . . . a Romeo and Juliet revival?

Because everywhere I turn someone seems to be putting a production of it on!

Aside from Hoshgiumi doing it now and Yukigumi being announced to do it as well as various other friends mentioning they were going to go see it in their hometowns, I flipped open my local newspaper this afternoon and THIS article was staring me in the face!

Choreographing A Romantic Tragedy: Broadway fight director gives Shakespeare Festival's ''Romeo and Juliet' its physical kick

I'm afraid I'm going to be Romeo and Juliet-ed out before I even get to see Kimu's version in January!

And now . . . back to sewing on the last bit of lace for the blue Elisabeth dress and that will be finished! The red Saigo dress is going to require more sewing but I should have it done by this weekend. And then . . . I don't want to look at another sewing needle until next year! *laughs*

If you're a cosplayer and live near a JoAnn's Fabrics they've got their Butterick patterns on sale for $0.99. I may or may not have cleared my local one out of their "Making of History" collection XD

They're also on sale on the Butterick website (but for $3.99 rather then $0.99)

Click for the other ones I got )

I think the sale only runs until Sat or Sunday though. But its a really good chance to pick out any patterns that might have something in it that you'll need for your next costume. Because nothing is more annoying then finding that perfect skirt but the top isn't right so you have to buy a second pattern (at $17) so you have the right top!

Something is going horribly wrong with my laptop. There appears to be a problem with the connection on the monitor. If I move the screen at all it shuts off and will not turn back on unless I do a hard shut down of the laptop and restart it.

Really, really frustrating!

I cannot figure out how to open the laptop so I can check the connection so I want to do that only as a last resort because I suspect I'm going to have to open up the whole bottom of the laptop. Right now I'm busy tightening screws and such to try to keep the screen from jiggling while I use it.

Ah well, here's hoping I can make it work!

So . . .

. . . is it just me or does it look like Yahoo Japan may have just cracked down on automated shopping services? I have not been able to search for anything using either of the two shopping services I usually use. Both are the kinds where you type in what you're looking for and then it takes you to the Yahoo Japan search results where you can shop to your little heart's content.

Except for the last two days rather then showing me what I want to see I just get a "can't display page" note from Yahoo Japan, yet if I got to Yahoo Japan itself and search it works fine.

So either they've "wised up" (though from a business standpoint its a dumb move to shut out customers) or they've just changed their coding and the shopping services haven't figured it out yet.

*sits back and waits for it to get worked out*
