Featured Article - June 2026

Sorry for the late post, the pedestrian my friends struck with a car last summer came back to get his revenge by killing us one by one. This month's featured article is Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a game in the Legend of Zelda series for the Nintendo Switch. Presented as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with the gameplay of Hyrule Warriors, the game actually presented a different series of events with a different conclusion. The game was published in 2020 and received generally positive reviews.

Music Samples

Hello, everyone.

So... I've been adding some song samples in the composers' articles based on confirmed sources (not the VGM Source or guesses). I've been thinking about it recently before deciding to materialize the idea.

It's still a work-in-progress. As someone who really enjoys Nintendo music, especially the live orchestrated ones, this more of my thing and I hope these samples could help give readers the idea on what the music sounds like, in terms of notes, themes, and how they make or arrange these themes.

As for how I add them, here's my process:

  • Download them from YouTube
  • Use a recording software if necessary
  • Use Premiere and trim the files (typically 10-20 seconds)
  • Start from the beginning or favorite part
  • Add a fade-out effect in the au…

PLEASE READ: NO MORE "VGM" SOURCE

Hello, everyone.

First off, let me just say there has been some more speculating and confusing about certain composers and their specific music credits, and whether or not they are true composers for each game. That is why, as a content moderator here, I decided to make a major change on adding credits in case anyone wants to continue their contributions. The change being...

No more adding any "NEWER VGM Sound Sources" credits or "references" supporting them.

The source in question: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JJBlHHDc65fhZmKUGLrDTLCm6rfUU83-kbuD8Y0zU0o/edit?pli=1#gid=717751203

Using this source and any "references" that supports it is more of a speculation and guess than an actual source. If you happen to come across the credit us…

My recent change to the page "Game Boy line"

I had recently made an edit to the page Game Boy line on this wiki. I feel like it could start an edit war, so I need to make some points:

  • Pokemon Red and Blue are Game Boy games, and not Game Boy Color games, as it was listed as such in the previous edit in 2022. Also, these games, combined with the Japanese versions and Pokemon Yellow, are the best-selling Game Boy games, but I felt like it would start an edit war between the community, so I kept it as Tetris.
  • While some might argue that, excluding these games, Gold and Silver are the best selling Game Boy Color games, they are technically still Game Boy games, which are classified as such because of the cut corner on the top right, so I classified Pokemon Crystal as the best selling Game …

Featured article - February 2026

Sorry for the late post, I found out that since birth my entire life has been a reality TV show with thousands of hidden cameras and actors and I had to escape the town/film set. This month's featured article is Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a 2010 game in the Kirby series. Unlike most games, which have Kirby inhaling enemies to copy their powers, this game has Kirby turned into a transparent yarn being who teams up with Prince Fluff to save his kingdom from the evil Yin-Yarn, who has split it into pieces. The game was the first home console entry in the series since Kirby Air Ride. It was rereleased for the 3DS in 2019.
