Tips for Easier Communication with Overseas Dragon Quest X Players
I wrote this article hoping Asturteia will become a place free of discrimination and prejudice.

普段英語で話している人達の目には、この世界はどう映っているだろうか？
私が当たり前だと思っていることは、実は当たり前ではないのかもしれない。私が見慣れている世界も、彼らにとって新鮮かもしれない。
もし話せるのであれば話してみたい。

【DQ10】The New World I'm Touching in English and What I Can Do Now
What does this world look like in the eyes of people who usually speak in English?
What I take for granted may not be the norm. The world I am used to may be new to them.
If I could talk to them, I would.

きっかけは単純
ドラクエ10を英語で楽しんでいる人をＸで偶然見かけて、恐る恐る英語で声をかけてみたのが最初のきっかけでした。

フレンドでもなく、ルームメンバーでもなく、チームメンバーでもない。
内気でシャイな私が、国籍や人種や性別なども全くわからない相手に自分から話しかけるということは、通常ではあり得ません。

英語で話しかけられても全く話せない人がいきなり英語で大統領に話しかけてしまうくらいの、かなり思い切った行動です。

The trigger was simple
That was the very first opportunity I had when I happened to see someone on X enjoying playing Dragon Quest 10 in English, and timidly decided to speak to him in English.

He was not a friend, a room member, or a team member.
As a shy and shy person, it is not normal for me to talk to someone I have no idea about their nationality, race, or gender.

It is a rather drastic action, like a person who cannot speak at all when spoken to in English suddenly speaking to the president in English.

もしかしたら、言葉の壁は少し低くできるかも。
とりあえず少し会話をすることができて自身がついた私は、考えました。

英語は大好きでも英検３級程度の実力しかない私。
でも何かできることがあるかもしれない。
とりあえずやってみようと思い、やってみた。

At any rate, I thought as I gained confidence from being able to have a little conversation with him.

I love English, but I am only at the third level of the English Proficiency Test. But there might be something I could do.
I decided to give it a try for now, and I did.

定型文の設定　Setting frequent phrases

ドラクエ10 の日本語チャットは、ツールを使っても英語に翻訳されないという話を聞いて、よく使うセリフの英語版を登録してみました。
伝えたいことは意外とすぐに出てこないし、普段使わない言葉は打ちにくいので、これで便利になるかも。

After hearing that the Japanese chat in Dragon quest 10 cannot be translated into English using a translation tool, I registered the English versions of my most frequently used lines.
This could be quite useful, since the message I want to convey is surprisingly difficult to say right away, and it is hard to type words I don't normally use.

普段日本語を使う人は日本語が上、普段英語を使う人は英語を上に書くと、しぐさリストからすぐ使いやすくなります。

If you usually use Japanese, write Japanese on top, and if you usually use English, write English on top, so that it is easier to use from the gesture list.

近い場所によく使うセリフを登録して、使いやすくしてみよう！
今はツールからコピペできるので、簡単です。
もし周りに英語を使う人がいたら、コピーして使ってみてください。他に良い台詞のアイデアがある人は、追加していきたいので教えてください。

↑ こちらは他にも「捕まえた」「見つけた」「引っかかったな」みたいな意味でも使われる

人によって表現は変わるかと思いますが、こちらに書いておきます。
英語は面白いですね。

絵文字を横向きで表現しているのが面白い。

ゲームの中であっても、言語が違うことで孤立したり差別されたりすることができるだけないようにしていきたいと私は考えています。
自分と違うということは寧ろ魅力的なことであり、相手を知り自分の価値観を広げることにも繋がります。

英語を話せないけれど交流してみたい人や、日本語を話せないけれど交流してみたい人へ。
私自身も含めて、より快適なコミュニケーションが少しでも取りやすくなるようにしていけたらいいなと考えています。

The study and search continues
This article here is a pilot article.
I will update it on a whim based on future experiences and realizations.

My hope is to make sure that people are not isolated or discriminated against because of their different language as much as possible, even in the game. Being different from oneself is rather attractive, and it leads to knowing others and broadening one's own values.

To those who do not speak English but would like to interact with others, or to those who do not speak Japanese but would like to interact with others.

I hope that I can make it even a little easier for everyone, including myself, to communicate more comfortably.
