Joo (Hangul: 주), also known by her stage name Ella (Hangul: 엘라; formerly known as Mirae), is a South Korean singer. She is a former member of the girl groups PIXY and Cherry Bullet.
Career[]
Pre-debut[]
In 2011, Mirae auditioned for MBC's Star Audition 2. On November 23, 2018, Mirae was revealed as a member of FNC Entertainment's new girl group Cherry Bullet.
2018–2019: Cherry Bullet[]
On November 22, 2018, she was revealed as a member of FNC Entertainment's newest girl group Cherry Bullet, under the stage name Mi Rae.[1] They officially debuted on January 21, 2019 with their debut single album "Let's Play Cherry Bullet".
On December 13, 2019, she, along with Kokoro and Linlin, departed from the group after deciding to terminate their exclusive contracts with FNC Entertainment.[2]
2020-2022: PIXY[]
On July 3, 2020, she was revealed as member of ALLART Entertainment's upcoming girl group PIXY, under the stage name Ella. On February 24, 2021, PIXY debuted with the digital single "With My Wings".[3]
On March 11, 2022, ALLART Entertainment announced that Ella would temporarily be taking a break from all activities due to health concerns, particularly personal stress and physical condition.[4] Because of this, she did not participate in PIXY's comeback album Reborn due to her continued hiatus.[5]
On August 27, ALLART Entertainment announced that Ella and Satbyeol had effectively left the group in order to be in an environment to continue focusing on recovery and treatment.[6]
2024: Joo, fanmeeting[]
On June 14, it was announced on Instagram that Ella will perform at the KPop Kastle in Los Angeles and Miami under the stage name Joo and will present an unreleased song and a video for it. She will also hold a fanmeeting.
