Retired Archbishop Hilarion Capucci joined the Free Gaza Movement’s aid Flotilla to the Gaza Strip on the Mavi Marmara.   To Reuters he said:

“Our trip to Gaza was a trip of love and God was with us. Israel by its actions had rightly drawn world outrage over its brutality against unarmed people carrying a message of love to an innocent occupied people under siege.”

However, Reuters does not fail to mention in this article that this “peace-loving” Bischop was imprisoned by Israel in 1974 and later deported.

I’d had an altercation with my immediate superiors, having reported them for an abuse of power. It might seem quite trivial, but we were living on board a ship in the Mediterranean in summer and it was very hot.

My superiors had shut a passage so as to keep what little air conditioning there was in their area. They had no authority to do that, and it forced us in the lower ranks to go three times as far to get to routine areas.

The whole platoon was punished for what I did, and I had to look over my shoulder after that. A lot of marines would no doubt describe me a provocateur or a “bad apple” but to my mind I did the right thing.

The Israeli government has imposed a blockade around Gaza because Hamas remains committed to Israel’s destruction, refusing to recognize Israel’s right to exist and using territory under their control to launch attacks against Israeli civilians. Hamas sponsors mass wedding for little girls

Hamas sponsored a mass wedding on Wednesday night for ‘450 couples.’

Hamas dignitaries including Mahmud Zahar, one of the militant group’s top leaders, were on hand to congratulate 450 grooms who took part in the carefully stage-managed event.

“We are saying to the world and to America that you cannot deny us joy and happiness,” Zahar told the men, all of whom were dressed in identical black suits and hailed from the nearby Jabalia refugee camp.

Each groom received a present of 500 dollars from Hamas, which said its workers had also contributed five percent of their monthly salaries to add to the wedding gift.

The 450 brides shared none of the glamour, taking seats among the audience of around 1,000 party guests: most couples had already taken part in religious ceremonies elsewhere, with more marriages planned for the next few days.

“We are presenting this wedding as a gift to our people who stood firm in the face of the siege and the war,” local Hamas strongman Ibrahim Salaf said in a speech.

Now I have raw video of the event, and I want you to pay close attention to the ‘brides’ – especially as they walk in with the ‘grooms’ around the 4:00 mark. There is no way that any of these little girls – half the heights of their husbands – is more than 10 years old.

We all know that honor killings are common in all cultures and have nothing to do with Islam… right?

Not. Honor Killings are not simply “Domestic Violence” either, but indeed very Islamic. Yet another honor killing — the 9th in Gaza since the beginning of 2009. “Rights groups: Gaza man suspected of killing daughter for owning cellphone,” from the Jerusalem Post, July 29 (thanks to JW):

A Gaza man is being held on suspicion he bludgeoned his daughter to death with an iron chain because he discovered she owned a cell phone, human rights groups said Wednesday.The groups added that the victim’s three brother’s were also detained.

The woman, a 27-year-old divorced mother of five, was the 10th victim of a so-called “honor killing” in the Palestinian territories and among Arabs in Israel this year.

Spain: Muslim stabs his daughter 20 times in attempted honor killing

A manual of Islamic law certified by Al-Azhar as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy says that “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right.” However, “not subject to retaliation” is “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring’s offspring.” (‘Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law. In accord with this, in 2003 the Jordanian Parliament voted down on Islamic grounds a provision designed to stiffen penalties for honor killings. Al-Jazeera reported that “Islamists and conservatives said the laws violated religious traditions and would destroy families and values.”

Why does it matter that the practice of honor killing has Islamic sanction? Because if the roots of honor killing are never discussed and always ignored, the practice will never stop. Until the Islamic roots of the practice are discussed openly and human rights groups begin calling for reform, honor killings will continue in the Islamic world — and in Muslim communities in the West.

Human rights organizations in Gaza are protesting last week’s decision by Hamas to require female attorneys to wear an Islamic religious robe or a long coat, according to a Sunday report by Ynet. In calling for the terrorist organization to cancel the decree, a local legal group called it an offense to human and individual rights.

The dress code is one of a number of measures recently taken by Hamas. Hamas denied the claims.

If ye claim that ye are favoured of Allah apart from (all) mankind, then long for death if ye are truthful” (62:6).

So you see, the Qur’an says that if the Jews really love Allah, they will love death — and that is just what Sheikh Abdallah Al-Muhajir is boasting about. But I’m sure the resemblance of his words to the Qur’an is purely coincidental. Everyone knows this conflict has nothing to do with Islam.
