6AAM(Dogfight Spec.) Lv.1 - Description Confusion - Online Mode

I just unlocked F/A-18E in the online multiplayer mode, for its ability slot, the '6AAM(Dogfight Spec.) Lv.1' has a description 'slightly extends 6AAM lock-on range. Slightly shortens its reload time. Shortens 6AAM lock-on distance'. Isn't the first sentence entirely opposite of the last sentence? Or does the 'range' mean how wide and 'distance' mean how far the aircraft can lock onto enemies ?

My assumption would be lock-on range is how far the lock-on happens while distance is the range the missile can go before dissipating

Yeah, "extends lock-on range" increases the angle away from your nose that a missile can lock onto the target. If it helps, QAAM has a high/wide lock-on range, but a relatively low lock-on distance. Whereas LAAM has a high lock-on distance.
