I NEED HELP with the new update
I don't use the internet much these days and play single player offline games mostly, especially Fallout 4. To my horror i logged into steam today and saw an update I cant roll back. I'm currently 100 hours in to my silent hill hardcore 1 life horror playthrough and now I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrified to boot the game and find all the mods FUBAR'd again.

can i take any action at this point or do i have to bury my playthrough as a loss

P.S i hate you so much Bethesda, and Todd I WILL NOT BUY YOUR PAID MODS.

Leave Fallout 4 alone already. we don't need updates.

Honestly does anyone know if this new update broke things? like script extender? I really wanna play but I don't want to open mod manager 2 and boot up if its going to destroy my saves.
Depends on your mods.

F4SE is updated (was updated minutes after the patch came out)

As for your other mods that rely of F4SE, you will have to check each on individually.

To avoid this issue int he future, lock your appmanifest for Fallout 4 to "read only" that way Steam can't update your game.

broke is maby overstated, but e.g.
i have a lot doors that now i dont cant scrapoe nor remove in my settlements. i can simply walk past the doors as of therre aint any been build :)
also, another weird observation i made about a possible conflict forr the collision when in bbuild menu. i have a harrd time now to place some objects close to a wall inside a building.
but who knows if the new up date did cause this. btw, pure vanilla no DLLC nor mods in use.

Disable autoupdates. No one cares about whiners who are too lazy to change a single setting in steam.

SE still requires specific version of exe file after so many years, so probably you will have to wait for its update. Launching with outdated SE will cause error, not save corruption. All mods should be compatible with newer versions.
The updates don't break mods usually. The script extender breaks itself every update. It's already been updated.
