STAR WARS™ Episode I Racer

STAR WARS™ Episode I Racer

No Audio
Audio Settings can't be enabled as the game says it can't find my sound card. The music during cutscenes and the intro works but there's no audio during the menu or races. Running an everyday Realtek mobo chip that has never had issues.

Anyone else?

Same. No audio during game. Can't find where to turn it on
what do you mean by can't find your graphics card?

in the game's settings, try enabling 3D-Spatialized Audio and enable the Doppler effects option too.

Sorry, typo. Meant Sound Card. The screen your posted is what it looks like if the game finds a sound card. For some reason mine doesn't and none of those options are there. It says Sound System Disabled and the yellow text says No Sound Card Could Be Found or something like that. Oh well, I refunded it.

Same. At this point I'm waiting in a patch.

My sound has always worked but a friend of mine had a similar issue and this worked for him:

Try alt+tabbing out of your game, right click your speakers in your system tray, and open up your volume mixer:

It's very possible that your game is just muted by default somehow, as the intro cutscenes are tied to your master volume and not the app volume. I noticed they still played for me even with the game volume fully muted. If the slider bar is all the way up and you're still not hearing any sound then you obviously have a much more serious problem.

Let me know if this works, as many others seem to be having the same issue, thanks!

Note: alt+tabbing out of your game and then going back in will usually cause a glitch where your view is stuck looking behind your pod. To solve this simply press "Tab" once and your view will revert back to normal.
1. Inside STEAM client > right-click game in library > Manage > Browse local files

2. This should open a folder where the game is installed on your HDD including the main EXE file

for me it opens:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Episode I Racer\

alternatively just search for the main exe file on your HDD

"SWEP1RCR.EXE" (yes weird name)

3. Right-click SWEP1RCR.EXE on your HDD > Properties > Compatibility tab

4. On Compatibility tab click "Change settings for all users" at the bottom

5. Enable "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"

6. From dropdown menu select "Windows 7"

7. Enable "Run this program as an administrator"

8. Apply & Save all changes

9. Run the game - the sound will still be OFF (only in video cutscenes)

10. Inside game go to SETTINGS > AUDIO SETTINGS

11. CLICK THE CIRCLE NEXT TO

SOUND-SYSTEM ENABLED ( )
No hardware acceleration detected

12. This should show all audio options, enable everything and restart game

13. This enabled all in-game sounds and music on my DELL PRECISION laptop with REALTEK built-in audio card on WINDOWS 11 Pro (version 25H2)

13. COME BACK HERE and comment if it worked for you so others know this is a solution
