Hi all ... I just wanted to tell those of you who are living in the Hampton Roads region (which is Southern Virginia and Northeast North Carolina) that you might want to join this community called: hrmilitarywives! I hope to see you there!

It's not just for wives it's also for fiances and girlfriends!!

All Americans should have some basic supplies on hand in order to survive for at least three days if an emergency occurs. Following is a listing of some basic items that every emergency supply kit should include. However, it is important that individuals review this list and consider where they live and the unique needs of their family in order to create an emergency supply kit that will meet these needs. Individuals should also consider having at least two emergency supply kits, one full kit at home and smaller portable kits in their workplace, vehicle or other places they spend time.

I HOPE EVERYONE STAYS SAFE THIS WEEK AND NO NATIONAL EMERGENCIES FOR DEPLOYMENTS!

ABA Rental??

For the Lejeune people:

I'm looking for furnished places around JAX and I found some through ABA Rentals...Has anyone delt with them or heard anything??? I found some others but they are more expensive. Any feedback would be appreciated ... THANKS =)

Pictures

Since we're all posting pictures, I thought I'd offer up some advice. I'm not picking on anyone, I'm just trying to be helpful. It takes awhile to get used to lj codes.

Remove the ** to get the codes to work.

To lj cut: <**lj-cut**> Your text, images here <**/lj-cut>
To post images: <**img src="your url here"**>

You can host images for free at www.photobucket.com. Something to consider is that often times, pictures load up really really huge when you initially get them on photobucket. You can fix this by clicking on the *edit* button above the image, then resizing it. Always check to see how large your image is before you resize it, sometimes you'll need to resize by 50%, sometimes only by 75%. Huuuuge pictures don't look as nice, but keep in mind that once it's resized smaller, you can't make it large again on the photobucket site. You'll have to reload the image to get it back at it's original size. Also, you post an image from photobucket to lj by cutting and pasting the information in the box marked 'tag'

If you're posting images of your honey in uniform, it's a good idea take the time to blur out his name. You can use the paint progam to blur name tags and such. Why blur the nametag? Well, I don't know if the terrorists are reading lj, but I do know there are a lot of jerks online. Don't give out your last name. This is actually a rule in some communities, an OPSEC thing, and I know I've seen people who've been asked to remove the names from pictures. Really, it's just common sense.

It's considered good livejournal manners to use lj cuts for images and for large posts. Why? Because there are people on dialup, or people with limited bandwith. It slows down their computers. Also, if I post a really big image, it messes up the layout of the community as well as everyone's friendslists by streatching them out. It's not the end of the world, but it *is* annoying. Some people don't care if you use cuts or not, just like some people don't care if you credit them for using their icons... but some people get rather upset. When in doubt, put it behind a cut.

And here's how it all worksCollapse )
So much to do. So much to do. I have to make an appointment at the TMC. To get a Physical. Has anyone had one before? I have to have one before I go over seas. I dont know what to expect, Im sure its nothing bad. Just wondering. I have to fill out a whole bunch of paper work, and all call my doctors to get my immunizations and records. It doesn't sound hard, but it is when people dont really cooperate like you wish they would.

I have the army ball tomorrow, and I decided to wear the black dress since i already have the accessories and the shoes to go with it, because with the white dress i still have to buy the accessories and i dont have the money, and this way i can return the shoes and get like 35 dollars back. Thank you all for your opinions! I guess thats what happens when the military messes up the BH for the month. Thats my update! see ya guys, hope everyone is doin well.
Has anyone had their husband come back from deployment and NOT "live happily ever after"?

It's not that I'm not happy he's home, but the ways he changed while deployed are really tripping me out.

Just wondering if this was happening to anyone else. . .
