Santa

We had a ward christmas party last night and had a special visitor. Paige and Talli were so excited. Paige was looking for his sleigh as soon as we pulled up to the church. Madi asked Santa for an American Girl doll and a ripstick, Paige and Talli asked for a barbie car and a barbie horse trailer (if anyone has seen one of those let me know) and Isaah can't remember. Here are some cute pictures of the girls with cookies they decorated and of there visit with Santa

Madi Christmas Program

Madi had her 1st grade performance earlier in December. They were so cute. They sang Christmas songs and the majority of the kids had speaking parts. They did the story of The Night Before Christmas. Madi's lines were "With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread". She did amazing! The following clips are Madi singing and then her part. For some reason her part is turned the wrong way.(remember to scroll down the side and pause the christmas music so you can here her)

Flag Football

Chad is coaching Isaah's football team again this year. They moved up a league and are now in the 4/5th grade league. They have a pretty good team. Chad enjoys coaching this bunch of kids. Isaah is their star safety and he his also doing good at playing reciever. I think there record right now is 3-1. Chad is big on making the kids huddle up so they all are doing the same play. This team is awesome at it.

Here is a video of Isaah playing safety. (And yes it's cold, it was about 30 at 9:30 that morning).

Halloween

Here are a few cute pictures from Halloween this year. Madi was a pirate, Talli was a Musketeer from Barbie and the 3 Musketeers, Paige was a snow princess, and Isaah was the headless horseman from Ichabod Crane. The had alot of fun trick or treating and spent the day with Jody and Colby carving pumpkins. The twins made us laugh, about 3/4 the way into trick or treating they said they were done, they had enough candy and were ready to go home.

Lost

No we are not lost, it just seems like we have been very busy this last month. Let me fill you in on what has been going on and then I will add pictures after Thanksgiving. First, Chad and I played on a co-ed softball team and we won our league division. Then we had school halloween parties, the twins 5 yr birthday party, and Halloween (plus a visit from Jody and Colby). Then I sold some craft items at our annual Pomegrante festival, went to Time out for Women with some great friends, had a few Scentsy Parties, have done alot of Relief Society work, and in the process of this all Chad has built an awesome desk and cupboards in our office (I was the assistant of course) which look great. Now I am up in UT to sell some more things, see Juli and her new baby Ryan and visit Jenni to wish her a Happy Birthday. The three girls are doing gymnastics and Isaah is taking piano lesson and enjoying them. He is also now doing Flag Football which Chad is coaching, they kicked butt their first game last week. Luckily, all 4 kids are loving school and doing well in it. The twins can't wait until next year when they go to kindergarten. We are having Thanksgiving at our house and Chad and I are trying to figure the Christmas shopping out. The kids play outside constantly enjoying our wonderful weather and we usually have a few extra kiddo's running through our house throughout the week. At times our life seems crazy and but I love it and enjoy doing it all.

The kids had school off on Monday. It was a beautiful day which meant they spent alot of time outside. The weather here has been perfect 80's being the high cooling off in the morning and evening. It really feels like fall here. After that Monday the kids have been playing none stop with the go cart and red twisty thing. If your wondering why Isaah is being the motor on the back and not pedaling the go cart, the reason is the pedals have been broken off and are unfixable. The motor is moving my four kids plus the neighbor girls and the cat who had to be taken for at least one ride. (Unwillingly though).

A visit from Jody and Colby

Jody and Colby came to visit for a weekend in early September to enjoy going out on the lake. We spent all day out there snorkeling, seeing big horn ship, jumping off rocks, tubing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and just plain having fun. By the end of the day the kids were tuckered out. They can't wait for them to come down again. They love having Aunt Jody down for a visit.

Colby jumping off the rocks. We all had fun doing this
Jody and Talli taking a break from snorkeling
Chad speared a fish while snorkeling, to bad it was already dead.
All tuckered out. We haven't had this happen for a long time. But a visit from Aunt Jody always means the kids are busy and wore out.

Ear Peircing

After about 3 weeks of asking to get their ears peirced I took the Twins to the mall to get them done. We had tried to talk them out of it but over and over they kept saying they wanted it. They did great and loved them (and still do). Paige wanted to get very large diamonds for her earings but we told her you had to be 16 to get those. After we looked at earings and jewlery, then got smelly lotion on their arms and looked at prom dresses. They thought it was such a fun day. They can't wait to change their earrings, but they have to wait until after their birthday. They are constantly having me do their hair so people can see their earrings. (if your asking why Madi didn't, she says she's going to wait until she's 12)

Broken Bones

we have been pretty luck when it comes to broken bones. We haven't had any until this summer. Then we had two. First Madi was playing and ran into the corner of the entertainment center and broke her little toe. We thought she did but we had it confirmed by xray's two weeks later when we took Isaah in to get his cast on. Her foot was still bothering her. We just continued taping it and he said in about 2 more weeks it would be completely healed. One night about a week later the kids were up late and Isaah was flying his helicopter. The helicopter landed on the entertainment center. Instead of asking for help he stood on the couch and reach for it. Splat! He fell off screaming "Somebody help me, I broke my arm" Crying he tells me "I heard it snap". Great I am thinking. I really didn't want to look at it thinking it was a compound fracture with bones poking out. I looked though and it wasn't. He sat there screaming, not crying screaming and all the while Chad is telling him to buck up he doesn't need to cry. I told him I would have to take him to the hospital (which he does not usually want to do and avoids dr.'s at all costs) he said okay. Well we knew the pain must be bad. A half hour later the screaming has finally stopped at we were in the ER. Yep, he broke his arm about an inch down from his wrist. A week later he got a cast on. Then another week he got a waterproof cast on. About a month later off came the cast just in time for school to start.

1st Day of School

School has started here in NV, where it has been averaging 104 degrees lately. We are doing a little homeschool Preschool with the twins this year rotating with some friends. We had the first week at our house. It went great and the kids loved it. We learned some numbers, letters, did painting, played games, and even made our own brown bear books. There are 5 kids in class all going to kindergarten next year. We do it two days a week for 3 hours. Isaah and Madi are glad to be back in school to see friends and learn lots of new things. Isaah and Madi each had a spelling test on Friday and both got A's on them. Way to go.

Odds n Ends

Isaah has changed his mind about what he wants to be when he grows up. He wants to be a Professional Fisherman, so he can get paid to do what he loves. I had to chuckle at the last part of it. (Yes, he said it exactly like that)

Madi informed me this morning (saturday) that she's not getting dressed today (out of her pj's). She doesn't have school today so she's not getting dressed today, I don't need to, and I want to stay in my pj's all day.

I just thought I would let you in on some of the great insights my two oldest give me.

Madi's 7th Bday

Madi had a great day on her birthday. She recieved lots of fun presents from family and friends. She loves her new radio that we have to listen to Hannah on. She spent the day meeting her new teacher and then in the afternoon having a swim party in our back yard. Her grandpa Bernie came down along with his dad, Grandpa Vernon to help her celebrate. Madi had a Tinkerbell pinata and then they also played pin the lips on Hannah. It was a very hot day and the kids cooled off by swimming and then swiming some more.

A night at the Lake

After school on Friday we took the kids to the lake for some fun. Chad and I had went scuba diving the day before in the lake so Chad was pretty excited about fishing now that he saw the fish. First we had to dehook Chad's finger. That was interesting. He used the fillet knife to slice is finger so he could get the hook out. I have no clue as to how it got it stuck in the first place. Then Chad took turns with the kids snorkeling. After that the lake was so smooth, I kneeboarded, which I havent' done for a while and loved it. Chad practiced his skills at wakeboarding, which was pretty fun to watch. Then the sun started setting and we started fishing. We caught a few and stayed until well after dark which we never do. On the way out of the marina we spotted a herd of wild desert burros. Then a cute little kit fox. Wild Burro's, they kept running away as I tried to get their picture

The kids loved being out on the lake while the sun was setting.

Chad has been having some bad luck the last two days. Cut open 2 different fingers and sliced a nice slit in his tongue, then this... A heavy barbed hook, look close at the picture, it was nasty looking.

Summer

Summer is coming to an end and we have been trying to make the best of it. We spent a week in Yellowstone/Island Park, Juli and her cute kids came down, and we have been enjoying time in our pool and at the lake. Madi's birthday is this week and school starts on Monday. Isaah's cast came off yesterday. It's been a whirlwind of a summer and I still have pictures to add from the 4th of July. As soon as we get back into a schedule of some sort I will post pictures. Have a great day!

Open House

Jody, Shawn and I met Darci and her family at the Oquirhh MTN Temple open house in the end of June. It was very busy, but what a great experience. I was glad that Shawn got to go and especially my kiddo's to see inside the temple. I hope that they learned what great work is done in there so that they can set goals to go there someday and recieve the many great blessings that they can recieve in the Temple.

Afterwards we took some pictures, though not all of us did it willingly. Then we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and let the kids run around after being so good in the temple.

Top of the Mountain

While in UT the end of June we took for a drive up the top of Middle Canyon in Tooele. At the top you can look down into the Kennecot Copper Mines and across the Salt Lake and Tooele Valley. They thought it was pretty cool. Isaah of course wanted to know more about the copper mine than I had answers for. I haven't been up there for about 15 years, so it was fun to see.

Horse Walker

The end of June the kids discovered a new use for my parents horse walker. (Something you hook the horses to that walks them in circles so you don't have to do it yourselves). The kids spent hours playing in the sand, building castles, dams and who knows what else. The girls decieded to start running circles. It was sooo funny, they would run and run and run, I bet they did it one time for at least and hour. Who knew running circles in the sand was so much fun.

Chad

This song brings back some fun memories, but the part about wearing parachute pants makes me laugh. Over the 4th of July Chad's mom told me about Chad's Hot pink and black parachute pants that he used to wear. If only I had a picture...

Camping

Mid-June we headed up by Ely, NV for a camping trip with Dan, Vickie, Kelly, Jorden, and Jazmyn. We camped up by a place called Duck Creek. This was our first time taking our trailer and 4wheelers out camping. We had a really good camping spot by a creek. We saw elk and deer, the girls saw a deer come up to the creek while they were sitting there drinking hot chocolate. Saturday it poured down rain all day so we took a drive to cave lake and then into Ely for lunch. Sunday we were able to enjoy alittle bit of the sunshine before we had to leave.A deer I saw on a 4wheeler ride.
Yes, we took our kitten campin. (She had lots of fun and didn't even try to runaway) She liked to hunt Sasha.
