Way Super Exciting...

I know it has been a few days since I have posted anything but I have actually been rather super busy. It kinda all started with my going on interview number 1 with the University of Utah Greenwood clinic. Then interview number 2 and then number 3. The head nurse then told me that she would submit all of my information in to the hospital HR dept and then see if they make me an offer. I have to admit I was rather nervous about this and then decided to go ahead and start at the plasma center that I previously worked at prior to going to Las Vegas in 2006. So on Monday my first day at the center I get a call from the head nurse... she told me of my offer ( its pretty good for being in Utah and for just starting out ) so I accepted.

I had to go in for a drug test ( that alone was quite the ordeal... I dont know what it was but I was there for an hour and half with 2 failed attempts not fun!!)... and yeah I am 99.999999% sure that I am going to pass that one. Next I have to go for a background check... Iv been pretty good my whole life so I doubt I will have any problems there. So I am way super EXCITED for this job.. some of my duties include doing the doctor's notes, giving injections, drawing blood oh and differnt types of lab testing. AHHH I really cant even contain my excitment !! Oh yeah its in Internal Medicine.

Me and My BIG MOUTH!!

As most of you know.. I have a big mouth. I don't keep opinions to myself what so ever. Well yesterday I was at the the church history museum in Salt Lake City. I liked it a lot and thought it was pretty cool .They have this whole primary children section where kids can learn more about the scriptures and dress up and play make believe to stories about Noah and Nephi and the nativity scene. So I noticed this large sign that says " I am a Child of God, 50th Anniversary" so I start laughing rather hysterically cause I am thinking " well what was I before that?". Then the following happens sorta like this..

me : laughing uncontrollably
man's voice behind me : Are you okay?
me: yeah... if its the the 50th anniversary of me being a child of God... then what was I all the time before
man's voice behind me: (lets out a chuckle ) it's the 50th anniversary of the song
* I look back it was Elder Eyring

I dunno maybe you don't find that funny, maybe it wasn't all that funny but it was like the first time I left my house after being sick for a week. I think all the Nyquil fried my brain.

Candy Corn Amazingness

Recipe For Candy Corn Amazingness

The recipe is a modified version of my sugar cookies. So, the sugar cookie recipe is as follows...(I always 4x the recipe otherwise it doesn't make very much. AND, plan on making the dough a day before you want to make the cookies...it has to refrigerate for 4 hours.)
(4x the recipe)
2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 C. butter (4x is 5 sticks)
1 C. sugar1 egg,
Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla

* Then this is what you will need for the "modified" version
Orange food coloring
Orange zest (4 oranges)
Juice from half of one orange
Dark chocolateWhite chocolate

*For best results, use chocolate used for candy making. It hardens shiny and you can stack the cookies without the chocolate melting and smudging.

*Mix dry ingredients together and set aside
*Cream butter, sugar, egg and milk in separate bowl
*Add vanilla
*Zest 4 oranges in wet ingredients
*Cut one orange in half and squeeze juice of one half into wet ingredients
*Add food coloring and blend well
*Mix in dry ingredients
*Refrigerate 4 hours
*Preheat oven to 350 degrees
*Roll out and cut with candy corn shaped cookie cutter
*Bake for 10 minutes
*Let cool completely
*Line separate cookie sheet with wax paper
*Melt chocolate in microwavable bowls
*Dip base of cookie in dark chocolate and place on wax paper
*Pop in freezer for a few minutes until chocolate hardens
*Repeat, dipping tips in white chocolate
Enjoy!

Happy baking everyone! Let me know how it goes...

You love them and you love to hate them....

I say, and I do hate dumb reality shows. I will flip through channels and start watching them to make fun of them and to see how gay they are.. then before I know it.. I have them scheduled on my DVR and BAM I am addicted. I don't know what is wrong with me. For example: I heard about the Girls Next Door show on E! and was so disgusted by the idea of a 80+ year old man having three girlfriends that could be his GREAT GRANDDAUGHTERS! Obviously for the mansion and his money, which he got from exploiting naked 18 year olds for the past 50 or so years! Well the new season started last week and I was so excited! I just got done watching the new episode tonight and after that was over, I started googling Hef and Holly's breakup and was so interested like I know them personally! This has also happened with the Bachelor! Please, I need Help!!

Blog-a-d-d-d-d

I have no idea what to blog about, so I'm going to blog about everything...

*I'm currently quite sick...it's like a cold/flu thing that is kicking my A. I have eaten, like, 6 hot tamale popsicles in 48 hours to make me feel better. Have you had these things? My friend Kristy introduced me to them... at first they were just alright for me... now I'm in love...60 calories of spicy, sinus clearing, heaven. Give them a go and lemme know.

*I'm watching the MTV video awards and I'm just gonna go ahead and say I hate lil Wayne...I mean pull up your damn pants already. That goes for the rest of you punk pantie flashers. ( I know it was on a while ago I just didn't watch it until now thanks to the Comcast On Demand)
And I have also been watching losts of Sponge Bob Square Pant though. I love him.

*I recently found $150 worth of spa gift certificates that I thought I had lost... you should have seen me when I found those bad boys... you would have thought Jesus was coming... I was going crazy and promptly got online to the spa website and planned out what I was going to do with them...OH HAPPY DAY...

DRAMA-RAMA

So recently I have gone through a situation yet once again that reminds me of highschool. Without naming names or saying to much about the situation, it was a situation that yet again brought to my attention how little you really can trust people these days. Even people who you deemed as your closest friends. It's hard when you are presented with information or a situation that is very upsetting becasue its hard not to get emotional about it. And then when you react to that situation that you didnt bring on yourself you are acused of being drama. I hate when people are so dramatic yet they accuse you of being drama, because you reacted to the drama they just brought to your door. Anyways Sometimes I wish I was a man because for some reason if you have balls, this kind of stuff doesnt really happen. Men just punch eacother in the nuts and then 10 min later they are friends, and no one cares anymore. It isnt brought up and thrown in your face 6 months later. I have learned that sometimes you cant even trust your best friends, and people who think would never hurt you. I think from now on I wil be a little more careful about who I tell anything personal to. Which really sucks because I love to trust people, especially your closest friends. I do appreciate those constant friends in my life that have always been there for me, despite my personality flaws, and who have always been trust worthy. I guess you have to get burned to truly appreciate those people.

Birthday Weekend Extravaganza

24 is a good age, but it's also like... HELLO, you are an adult! Unfortunately, that puts me 6 years away from my dreaded age of 30... I swear when I turn thirty I'm going to go into a coma... I can't handle that. I'll stop thinking about it. Anyways...for my birthday lunch on Friday we went to a yummy sushi place that was super good. HOWEVER...they took us to these "special" Japanese tables, where they make you sit on the floor, but there is a hole under the table for your feet, so you don't have sit Indian style. Well, they show us to the table and they the hostess tells us to take off our shoes. WHAT THE CRAP? I've never in my life taken my shoes off at a restaurant!! That's rude and gross! I looked around and the WHOLE place had their shoes ON. So I asked the lady if she was serious and she said yes, because of the special Japanese wood in the table, I had to remove my shoes. Grr.... so I stood there and awkwardly tried to take off my knee high sexy boots in front of other people's FOOD. I kept apologizing to the table next to me, but they just looked at me like I was the one electing to remove my shoes, since everyone else had theirs ON. Dumb...worst of all taking off my hot shoes, showed off my even sexier ankle socks....Oi Vey...next time I eat sushi, I'm wearing flip flops and getting a pedicure before I go!

Then it was to Dairy Queen to pick out my awesome ICE CREAM CAKE... for as long as I can remember I have just never liked birthday cake.. so I always get an ice cream cake... Moving on My mom and I decided to get one of those soft serve ice cream cones that was dipped in chocolate. Needless to say it was rather sunny outside and my cone was melting faster then I could eat it. So to keep it from getting all over my mom's SUV, I just let it drip on me. I had to jump in the shower. I had chocolate up to the inside of my wrist, in my hair ( do not ask me how).

My actual birthday dinner... we went to the Bohemian its this amazing authentic German restaurant. ( my family is German and came over in the 50's) Oh my HEAVEN... Schnitzel is sooooooooo yummy. Oh and afterwards we went to see Beverly Hills Chihuahua.... kinda hooky but still cute. Its one of those movies you should wait till it comes out on Red Box.

What's the Point?

Alright so I wasn't able to sleep tonight.. nothing new there. As I was flipping through channels and waiting for the Flintstones to come on cartoon network I stopped on this show called L.A Ink. My dad had tattoos and my grandfather had some that he got in the Navy, I have never found the appeal of them. Yeah once or twice the thought of getting one has crossed my mind but I always give my self a full year before acting on it and I always decided .. What's the point? Kat Von D the owner of this particular shop on this show. I am not going to lie I think she is incredibly beautiful BUT all of the added stuff just takes away from her. I know they are very addicting just like everything else in this society. But seriously what happened to good ol coloring books? I mean people get the DUMBEST tattoos... drug parfonilia, boyfriend's and husband's names ( my dad got my mom's name tattooed on him... well those who know me know how that turned out) I just think it is dumb, unprofessional and frankly a waste of money.

my chihuahua can beat up your lab??

Yeah you read that right my blogging friends... my cute lil 6 pound Chihuahua kicked this 50 pound black lab's tail.

So I took Dawkins outside to do his business and this black lab came into our yard and walked right up to me and started growling. Dawkins started barking at this other dog and chasing him out of the yard. Before fully leaving our yard I heard this yelp and not from my dog. Dawkins runs back to me and has some blood coming from his mouth, but he wasn't bleeding. Needless to say the lab's owner isn't to happy with me and wanted proof that Dawkins has had his Rabies vaciences. My dog kicked some TAIL... and got a treat ;)

I just love how this puts the vast universe that we live in more into prospective to show us how truly little we really are.

Dr. Oz Protein Shake

Okay so many of you know that I am working super hard on trying to get back my way "super hot body". And I like quick fixes. About a year ago Kyle and I started drinking these protein shakes. Oh my gosh! When we did we both felt full, had more energy and were able to concentrate better at work. So we found the recipe again, I am actually going to start drinking these for breakfast and lunch and then just snack on fresh fruits and veggies in between.

The Quick Magical Breakfast Blaster2 servings,

136 calories per serving

1 scoop (1/3 cup) Soy protein (like Nature's Plus Spiru-Tein)

1/2 tablespoon flaxseed oil

1/4 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 large ripe banana (or other fruits of your choice)

1/2 tablespoon apple juice concentrate or honey

1 teaspoon Psyillium seed husksPeel banana; break into chunks.

Put all ingredients in a blender.

Add 12 ounces of water and ice, as well as powdered vitamins. Cover, blend until fairly smooth.

* Kyle and I had tried it with Strawberries and blueberries but it was pretty bitter.... from all the times I have tried to play around with it just make sure you use a banana.

* I started using honey that was harvested localy. Its proven that if you eat honey from your local beehives that (at least a teaspoon a day ) it will help with your allergies. I figured this would be good since I just went from living in the Las Vegas desert to tons of trees and grass... isn't Utah suppose to be a desert too?

Seriously Now !?!?!?!?!?

It's early October... and theree is snow on the ground. A little early ya think? On a side note James and I found a semi young buck in our fenced in backyard.... in Sandy. I mean the mountains aren't exactly in my backyard ya know!

So without further addo I guess I can start bringing out the Christmas decor without feeling bad. I mean last year in Vegas I didn't even put up a tree. It was warm, but ohh so nice.

The Greatest Man I Never Knew...

Well I just got back from the Reba and Kelly Clarkson concert while all though it was a lot fun to go with my mom but all along I was hopeing that this one song in particular would not be played. The Greatest Man I Never Knew. Ever since the song came out in the early 90's I turn it off and if I am unable to turn it off I end up in tears.

When I was younger my grandpa was my super hero, I could almost do now wrong when he was around I was his sweet pea. I remeber as a young kid helping at the cattle ranch our family owned and bottle feeding the young calfs. Just the thought of him dying scared me more than anything. I use to be able to only fall asleep because he had the magic arm corny I know. Well one night I was about 5 years old I asked him What would I do If you ever died. He told me he couldn't ever die and that he would jump out of the casket and slap my grannie for putting him there and take me away. Then he promised. Well you and I both know that death really doesn't work like that but being only 5 years old I believed him.

January 17, 1992 I was sitting in a school asembly being good and trying not to talk a lot. My teacher comes and gets me... thinking I was in trouble I followed her to the hallway. Only to find my mom there white as ghost and crying. Earlier that morning my grandfather had a heart attack and living in the country so far away from the main hospital, he died on the way to the main road to the hospital.

I remember yelling at him at his veiwing to get up like he promised I was soooo mad at him. Anyway the night he was burried we were watching TV and Reba came on and sang this song ever since this song has been extreamly hard to listen to.
My grandpa was the greatest man I never got to realy know.

here are the lryics to the song just in case you have never heard it before.

The greatest man I never knew
Lived just down the hall
And everyday we said hello
But never touched at all
He was in his paper
I was in my room
How was I to know he thought I hung the moon
The greatest man I never knew
Came home late every night
He never had too much to say
Too much was on his mind
I never really knew him
And now it seems so sad
Everything he gave to us took all he had
Then the days turned into years
And the memories to black and white
He grew cold like an old winter wind
Blowing across my life
The greatest words I never heardI guess Ill never hear
The man I thought could never die
Sbeen dead almost a year
He was good at business
But there was business left to do
He never said he loved me
Guess he thought I knew

THINGS YOU DONT KNOW

*REBA AND I WERE BORN IN THE SAME HOSPITAL IN MCALESTER OKLAHOMA
*MY FAMILY KNEW HER FAMILY WHEN SHE WAS STILL A TEACHER IN INDIAOLA OK
* SHE TAUGHT MY AUNT HOW TO BARRAL RACE.

COOL HUH?

THAT FREAKS ME OUT!!

Okay so my super hot mom and I were eating lunch at Subway and we overheard a conversation between this little girl about 5 and her mom. I seriously have not laughed so hard in quite sometime. ( It was more like the laughing that once you start you cant stop and then tears come out of your eyes)

Mckena: Mom I want to play with Nick and Quarter (Porter we think )
Mom: Sarah had her baby this morning so the are playing with their Grandma today.
Mckena: If I eat this sandwich am I going to get bigger?
Mom: Yes.
Mckena: Well then I don't want to eat it.
Mom: Why? Don't you want to get big and strong?
Mckena: Nope cause then you have to get big and get married and have a baby out of your private parts and that freaks me out!
Mom: Speechless.

what I know

I know I can always count on tivo to make me super happy :)

I know I had a scandalous dream about Simon Cowell and now I have a crush on him...

I know there isn't much I wouldn't do for a million dollars...

I know a combination of number 6 and 7 sounds good to me...

I know I wish life came with a tivo box so you could pause, rewind and fast forward parts of your life....

I know how to say a slew of swears in SPANISH.

I know I miss the boys that taught me those swears in spanish.

I know how to say mcdonalds, thank you, Gordon B Hinckley, french fries, pot sticker, we've arrived, phone, and mediocre in CHINESE.

I know that a piece of paper can't be folded in half more than seven times. I know you want to try it... go ahead....

I know I will never be a person that makes her bed on a daily basis.

I know it takes exactly 2 hours for be to get bored with shopping no matter what it's for.

I know like 3 articles of faith, but I used to know all 13.

I know diet dr pepper tastes more like regular dr pepper ....hahaha

I know I'm just grasping at straws and I know you are probably bored :) So bye bye :)

Biggest Loser Style

THIS show... is kick A . I LOVE bob except when he gets all sassy man lover on people... and I DESPISE Jillian... possibly because I eat candy and ice cream while watching her work out ( ha ha no not really, but I often wonder how many people who watch the biggest loser do eat junk while watching them get super hot and skinby )and she is more cut then I will EVER be in my entire life time, but I think she is secretly a man....I'm serious. She makes yucky faces and is sometimes just an outright beast. I'm just not a fan. I would DEFINITELY pick Bob as my trainer.

P.S On a personal note.. I am way super excited that I found a 24 hour Gold's gym that is close to my house. I am not a morning person so therefor getting up at the but crack of dawn to work out is out of the question, and I dont't like working out right after working 8 hours sooo now I don't have to fork out MORE cash money for a 24 hour fitness membership.

P.P.S Jullian was such a beast tonight.. how many bleeped out words can that woman say.

I love Conference

Ok church in your pajamas is the best thing ever.... I love, love, love, conference weekend. I've always had a love hate relationship with conference. I loved it when I was a little kid because my mom would always paint my my toes and nails during conference and make up fun games for us to play to get us to pay attention. Then when I was a teenager I didn't really like it because I looked at it as more of a freebee weekend to go out of town or something like that so I was mad when I had to stay home and watch it.

Now as a "grown-up" (which I still think I'm far from) I love it because I actually look forward to learning the things the prophet and apostles have to say! I love seeing the good and the blessings that come from applying their amazing teachings into my life. I love also how every conference there is always at least one talk that DIRECTLY for you...crazy how that works huh? I was so grateful to hear President Monson speak about his history as a church leader and to see his sensitive side. I think he is super cute and I'm exited to hear more about him. I love him! And in case any of you were wondering I still have a big fat innocent, very respectful, non-weird, crush on Elder Uchtdorf, let's just say he is one fine looking pilot and Sister Uchtdorf better be counting her many blessings! Anyways, I just wanted to say I am humbled ,once and again, and grateful for church in your pajamas... :)

Happy Aniversery Jailbird!!

With it being conference weekend and all I just thought I would share a funny story with everyone. 2 years ago on conference weekend Kyle and I were headed up to Salt Lake from Las Vegas, his father was singing for this mission reunion ( really cool thing back in the day the elders in South Korea were like famous and they sang and did concerts and it brought a lot of people to the church and such.) anywho Kyle and I were running late getting out of Vegas. So Mr Kyle was speeding. We are not talking about going 10 over the already posted speed limit of 70. We are talking 30 - 45 miles over the speed limit. So we get pulled over the highway patrolman clocked us going at 105. Oh not to mention Kyle has super dark window tint and got cited for that as well. So he gives Kyle his tickets and sends us on our merry way. So to make up for the lost 20 minutes or so. He speeds AGAIN. ( you would have thought he would have learned his lesson the 1st time... ahh NO.) I swear on everything not even 10 minutes later we get pulled over again!!! I am not even KIDDING! This time clocked going 112. Normally in central Utah you don't see that many highway patrols that close together, but conference weekend they beef it up a bit. OBVIOUSLY.

So they arrest Kyle, and to keep from impounding his car they ask me for my drivers license. The run it. Well that January I was pulled over in my mom's SUV with expired tags, and forgot to pay the ticket off. So Ms Amanda has a warrant out for her arrest. So I get put in handcuffs to. We spent the next hour in the Filmore, Utah jail. Lucky for Kyle he was able to see the judge before he left for the day or else Kyle would have been in the jail until Monday morning. We didn't make it to Kyle's dad performance. But Kyle and I got to bond while we sat in jail and had our mug shots taken.

GO GO SPEED RACER !!!!!

Being Green or OCD??

In 1992, I was in Mrs. Gray's second grade class and we had a big assembly about pollution, the environment and recycling. A few things were burned into my brain from that assembly. The first of those being the lyrics to " this land is your land ,this land is my land" song (I'm not sure of the title obviously). The second is they told us that if we keep throwing away baby diapers and Styrofoam at the rate we were, that pretty soon we'd run out of places to put trash and soon we'd have to put all of our trash in our own backyard. This worried the chubby bucktoothed 2nd grade version of me beyond belief as I pictured my dreams of a swimming pool decaying along with the paper towels and banana peels in my own back yard and this had me all kinds of hysterical.

And the very last thing I remember is those horrifying pictures of ducks, turtles and dolphins who had died because they choked on plastic 6 pack ring holder things. (pictured here, however I did not take this picture) They told us to make sure before we threw those away that we would cut them up into little pieces. I would testify in court that I have never ever ever, for the past 16 years, thrown one of these plastic ring things away without first shredding it. Once I tried and then I pictured Dolly the dolphin getting MY 6 pack ring stuck around her nose... and then dying all because I was lazy. So am I being green or ocd? YOU decide :)

Photo Shoots

Okay so many of you know that I am a free lance makeup artist. Well here are some pictures of some of the models makeup I have done.

Liposuction Anyone?????

Okay so I had this amazing job interview today.. one that I completely and totally want. It's working for a well establish plastic surgeon. This guy is seriously amazing he went to medical school at the U of U and did all of his residency at John Hopkins ( if you didn't know it is a very well known and prestigious teaching hospital )Anyway so he seemed really impressed by my resume and such. So keep me in your prayers that I get this job please.

P.S So I just got another phone call about a different job. This one is for one of the clinics that the University of Utah hospital owns, and it is super super close to my house. The added extra benefit of this job is the U of U will pay HALF of my schooling. And in case you didn't know school isn't cheap, and when you want to become a Physician Assistant then all the extra help is most defiantly needed, and welcomed.
