Swimming Again!

Spencer loves to swim so much that two weeks ago we went twice in one week. We also found out that Friday nights are date night and only half the price! We tried to go last Friday to show my mom, but there was only 5 minutes left when we got there. Apparently they close early on Fridays. The lady was nice though and let Clif and Spencer go in to go down the slide a few times. Otherwise, I know Spencer would be very upset. I really just enjoy taking him and trying to teach him to jump off the side, kick his legs and move his arms. I would love to someday teach swimming to Spencer and some of his friends (I used to be a swim instructor/lifeguard).

Smiling!

Addelyn is now smiling all the time. I love to see her happy and not crying anymore. She had the cutest smile with her dimples. She is a very fun baby. She enjoys being rocked and will even laugh. Her babysitter does a daily report and she says she smiles at everyone. I will have to record her laughing because it is just adorable!

Thank You Mom!

Last week was my first week back to school. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday I had to go full days. I was nervous about taking my kids full day with their new babysitter so my mom flew out and watched them. Spencer was/is getting 4 teeth in and wasn't the easiest child last week. I appreciate her so much. The cancer she has tires her out and I know it was hard watching them, but it meant the world to Clif and I. We also appreciate her treating us to lunch and dinner and taking care of us as well! Thanks for being a great mom! Here are the flowers she got me for my first day.

It was a hard first week for me because I didn't have the support of my colleague as much as I did last year. Since my great friend Suzie decided to go full-time it was like moving my room again and starting fresh! I was there for a week before for at least 5 hours a day and then the night before school I was up to 1:30. I started to get really frustrated with the girl I am working with, but of course didn't say anything. She is really nice and we work great together. She just has two little ones like me and her husband is gone 5 of the 7 days (he is a pilot). I was trying to be understanding, but on the day before school the class still wasn't done and she left me there. I wanted to cry because what would she have done if I hadn't been committed and stayed? My poor mom had the kids from 6-6 that day (Spencer woke up early)! I also started my period and had to wake up at 6:45 every day when I am used to sleeping in until 8:30. Needless, to say it was a pretty stressful week. However, I think I did a really good job on my classroom and hopefully I will have a great last year! I will take pictures of my classroom and post them this weekend.

I didn't get any pictures of us with my mom because of how busy we are. I feel bad because I always try to capture the time she does have with her grandchildren. I am sorry mom! However, I do have some of us from over the years (notice that in the one with my brother and I on my mom's lap that my brother is holding my baby blanket that I stole for him and still have).

Photo Shoot

I love to get my kids pictures taken. I also need to get a picture of Addelyn in her blessing dress done so I can have one of each of my kids in our room. I didn't want to get them done professionally until she is able to hold her head up a little better. So...I decided since my mom bought me such a nice camera I would take them myself. Spencer wasn't near as cooperative for me as he is for Kiddie Kandids. He was more interested in petting our kitty that had come outside to join us. Taking them outside wasn't working out very well. Though I ended up getting a cute one of the two of them when we came inside. (It is the one that is on the blog now).

Also, on a side note...a lady in our ward came up to me and asked me if she could take pictures of Addelyn for her portfolio. She is aspiring to be a photographer and when/if she does them I will get to keep the cd! I am excited. I hope she actually follows through with it. If not, the girl that is teaching her and has a studio offered to take our family pictures if Clif would help them do some electrical work in their basement.

Remember When (for Clif)

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

August 8th- My grandpa

Today would be my grandpa's birthday. My grandpa was my very best friend. I try not too think of him too hard or I get really sad. Some of the loves we share our for office supplies, music, and then we both like order. My gramps used to cut his steak into even pieces. He was so orderly that he was born on August 8th, married on February 8th and died on November 8th. The funny thing is I have always had a love for numbers. I believe since I was in 5th grade I have hated odd numbers (silly I know). I remember my lucky number was 8 and my best friends at the time was 7. The number eight will always be special to me. I was lucky to receive my patriarchal blessing on November 8th and then was married on January 8th. My son also carries his middle name. I just wanted to take the time to say that I love you grandpa. I wish you and I had been able to have more time together. I will always cherish our letters and I can hardly wait until I can hug you again. Thank you for being such an amazing man. I just recently was able to seal him and my grandma together. I know he was there and I hope he has accepted the gospel. No matter what though I will always love him!

*Just a side note I still have a fascination for numbers. Clif and I both have birthdays on the 17th. Plus, we first said I love you on the 17th. I always find connections in numbers. I know my friend Nicole was saying that everyone wanted to be induced because it was 8-8-08. That would be neat, but it is always a special day for me because of my grandpa.

Family News!

Clif: Is still working in Dugway at the base out there. He luckily carpools and doesn't have to drive the whole way himself. His car continues to give him trouble. Just yesterday he had to go buy a new radiator for it. He hasn't yet received a calling in our new ward, but we like to guess what it may be. Other than that he is doing a great job at helping with the kids and as always is a great husband.

Camey: I was recently called as 2nd counselor in the YW. I am very excited to be in this calling. There doesn't seem to be many YW in our new ward, but if today is any indication of what it will be like than I just can't wait. The spirit these girls bring is just amazing! There are a lot of young couples that I hope to get to know..right now it is all a little overwhelming though. We were on time today and still sat about 5-8 rows back on the hard chairs! I kind of wanted a smaller ward so we could really get to know people. I also spent the ENTIRE week getting my classroom ready. I really didn't have much help as the girl I team with could only come for a couple of hours each day. I was there almost all day everyday. I am so excited to say that I am done and ready for next year. I wanted to finish so I could enjoy my last week with my family. I will post some pictures of it soon.

Spencer: He had a hard week. I don't blame him since he had to come with me to the school as well. However, just the other day he said a new word: BATH! It was exciting since he loves it so much. We also recently caught him taking a "bath" with his clothes on. if it were up to him he would take a bath all day. He is still very good with Addelyn and loves, kisses, gives hugs to her all the time. He, however, hasn't learned all of his words yet so when he gets frustrated he has been hitting me. Hopefully, this phase will end soon. Today he was one of the few kids who didn't cry when we dropped him off to nursery. they still don't have a teacher so it is pretty chaotic in there. He is just a happy, go lucky kid!

Spencer in the tub with his toys Grandma White bought him.
I think he could be a model!

Addelyn: She turned two months on August 1st. Since my parents were here she didn't get her check-up until Friday, August 8th. I made it for that day because Clif would be home and would be able to stay with her during the shots. I just can't handle seeing my kids in pain. WELL...Clif ended up going to the eye doctor because he was wearing his contacts too much again and got another ulcer in his eye. I was brave and held her hand through the entire thing (although I was teary eyed), of course it had to be the time where they get the most shots! Clif is doing fine; I think this is the 3rd or 4th time he has gotten this since we have been married. he just has to put drops in and it goes away.

I think she could be a model too. I love this dress. She has now graduated from Newborn sizes to 0-3.

Now for the news on Addelyn... She is 10.4lbs 45th percentile 22 inches long 50th percentile and her head is measuring in the 80th percentile. Spencer weighed 12 almost 13lbs at his 2 months so this is good news! She is very healthy and doing much better lately. ANYONE who has a colicky baby should try gripe water because it has made my life so much less stressful! Addelyn also got her ears pierced. She looks so cute. I have always been against piercing babies ears, but she cried less than when she is hungry. I really like the way they look.

This week she has begun to smile ALL the time. I can never really catch it on the camera, but she just looks adorable when she does it!

You can see her earrings in this picture.

Breaking Dawn

Of course everyone had some sort of post about the book. Some friends of mine got together and had a Twlight Party. My parents were visiting so I could only stay an hour, but the rest of them stayed up until Midnight to get the book. The funny thing is I pre ordered it, but haven't even opened it yet. I let my mom take it to Washington to read before I even had a chance. I have just been too busy lately. I am excited to read it as I have heard many mixed feelings!

I love how Nicole is the only only one wearing her Vampire teeth!

Addelyn's Blessing (Sorry lots of pictures).

Last Sunday Addelyn was blessed (August 3rd). Our ward had gotten split the week before so it was our first Sunday in a new ward. It was nice to have friends and family over 9especially my mom and dad who I hardly get to see). We appreciate everyone that could come and of course missed those who couldn't. Next baby hopefully we will be in a bigger place so we can invite more people or make we will have it at a park like our friends did. We got SO many pictures of her. I don't even have half these much of Spencer. The pictures of me didn't turn out that great..my eyes are just too squinty.

Here are some of my favorites:

Clif gave her a bath and got her ready. It was really special to me and reminds me of what a great dad he is. This is the first day she started to smile in reaction to our voice.

I took these pictures of her in my blessing dress the following day. My grandma White made it for me and it is very nicely made.
This is Spencer. The both got blessed at 2 months old. He was about one week older than she is. I see some similarities.

I like this picture of her with my dad. I love men when they hold babies. (If anyone got a picture of them closer I would like a copy).

This is the only picture I have of the two of us. She was crying, but it is better than nothing.

I like to compare these two pictures because it had been about one week longer in the picture with Spencer and I hadn't lost as much weight as I have now. I still want to lose 25lbs, but I would be happy with 15!
Here are the cousins! Gavin is such a great cousin. I can't wait until we have more in the family!

Some family pictures.

Of course we can't forget Spencer. He is always the life of the party. He loves spaghetti and didn't hesitate to dig right in. The food was great! Thanks to everyone for bringing side dishes and to Clif and my dad for making the spaghetti and lasagna.
