January 8th

Oh, how I love the sound of that!! I went in to see my doctor today and she said I am measuring a week and a half bigger according to my dates. She also has seen me at work gimping around and decided we needed to set a date. So on January 8th, 2009 we are going in for an induction. I am so excited. She also asked how big Thomas was when he was born (6lbs 12oz) and said, "this guy has already passed him up!" Anyways, that is my good news of the day. Just wanted to share with the class. :0)

Probably the last pregnant picture I'll post for a while.

Bye bye swollen feet and legs soon enough!!

Christmas

This Christmas it was fun to see Thomas get so excited about opening gifts and playing with his new things. He received a new robe from his Nana that he wore all morning. Here are a few pics...He also received a baby so he could practice being an awesome big brother.

He took him on his riding doggie. Which he thinks says "neigh" every time he rides it...
and gave the baby lots of kisses!!
He even took him in his new tent to play with him.

Christmas is much more fun with kids!!
Then, my sweet husband let me take a nap since I worked Christmas night while he made a scrumptious Christmas dinner which included: Turkey, yams, potatoes, rolls, corn, stuffing and pumpkin rolls for dessert. It was super delicious. Thanks honey for a wonderful Christmas!!

My thoughts this season, especially tonight and I'm sure tomorrow..

I'm dreamin' tonight of a place I love
Even more then I usually do
And although I know it's a long road back
I promise you

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents under the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams

Santaphobia

I have been waiting all season to take Thomas to see Santa until when Michael was done with finals and could come too. So, the other night after his last final we bundled up and faced the cold rain to see Santa at the mall. We found the line and waited and waited for like 30 minutes to see Santa. Thomas had a blast in the line. He made two girlfriends and had fun hiding in the corners with them. (He's the one in front in brown with the snow hat gloves on. We could not get him to take them off!!)He didn't seem to be afraid of them, they were strangers weren't they?
It's almost our turn... we get up to Santa after much waiting and Thomas falls apart!! He didn't want anything to do with this jolly man, also a stranger. They tried for a good five minutes. They had Michael sit by him and gave him trucks to play with, but anytime Santa came near we could see that our efforts were in vain and finally decided to leave.Thomas was so hot after his tantrum with Santa that I decided I had to do something to cool him off, so I took his snow hat off. Which ended up in another tantrum. We distracted him with the toy car rides at the mall. He had lots of fun climbing in and out of them for 15 minutes. Michael and I grabbed beverages and also cooled down. Chasing after him for 30 minutes in line made both of us tired and hot. After we were all rejuvenated we went home without any Santa pictures. Hopefully next year will be better. Merry Christmas!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I would like to give a shout out to my dear husband. Today he took his last final of his first semester of law school. He survived!! And I'm sure he did very well. I'm so proud of him and all of his hard work. 1 semester down, just 5 more to go. Way to go!!! I love you.

Check out my new do!!

I decided to take my sweet little boy in to get his first real, all-over, haircut at a salon. He was so good! The hair dresser put a cape over me, and then set him in my lap, and put a cape over him. We then gave Thomas the squirt bottle and he was content and distracted enough to get his hair cut. The hair dresser said he was especially good and gave him a candy can at the end which he ate right up. Yummy! Yummy!

I made sure to leave a good tip, because by the end Thomas had sprayed water all over the mirrors, counter tops the hairdresser herself. Here's some pics of my little stud.

Before...

Did I mention he likes pizza!?!?!

After....

And did I mention he likes his morning cartoons?!?! All these pictures were taken while he was watching cartoons. I couldn't get him to look at me long enough to get him to smile. But, he sure looks cute anyway.

40 days...

Technically speaking I have 40 days of pregnancy left. It could be more, could be less. That thought brings sadness and much joy. I love feeling him move around and seeing him grow. That part of pregnancy I think I can enjoy forever. Even as I type I feel him moving all around saying hi, and letting me know that he is running out of room.

However as the days go by I am feeling more and more tired. Naps are worth their value in pure gold! My back no longer belongs to me, I often find it impossible to move and I can't wait to see my physical therapist on Tuesday. My feet have turned into puffy square things that I no longer recognize, heck! I've turned into a puffy square thing that I no longer recognize. :0) My sweet husband, would not like to see me write such things. He still tells me I'm beautiful, which I love but have a hard time believing.

Most pregnant women feel the same way, but are not willing to vocalize their thoughts on such issues. I guess, I'm different.

I do have some good news though. Michael has 3 names narrowed down for this little guy, which is great improvement. Forever, there wasn't even any names on his mind. I think we're not going to divulge the name to anyone until he is born. Make it a little more exciting for our friends and especially our family. Also, this way no one can talk us out of the name or into another name. Including you Amber!! Did I make you nervous?

A real live Christmas Tree

Every year now I look forward to going out and picking a real live Christmas tree and decorating it. There is nothing like the smell, the look, the enjoyment of picking out a Christmas tree every year! It's seems silly, but now that it's up I like to just sit in my front room in the evenings and look at it or read a book in front of it. I love Christmas time!!Thomas helped put up the lights!!He had lots of fun playing with all of the Christmas balls and bells. He wouldn't let us touch any of his favorites.Michael helped with ornaments :0)
All done!!
Hmm... do you think Mommy and Daddy will notice if I take all the ornaments off the tree 3.5 ft from the floor?
While we put up the tree we had Christmas music blaring (it's now legal in my house) and afterward we played carols on the piano. :0)
Thank you honey for taking me to get a Christmas tree!! I love you!!

Thanksgiving Break

I debated doing this post, I know it will kind of be LENGTHY, and it's already a week over due... so, when is it too late to post about something? But here it is anyways. It was so wonderful to fly home for Thanksgiving and see all of our family again. And to watch Thomas get reacquainted with his grandparents and his aunts and "kuncles." It all started with our plane ride over. I was going off of 3 hours of sleep and Michael had been awake for almost 48 hours straight writing papers and preparing to defend his Master's thesis. Needless to say we were both exhausted and Thomas was just the opposite. Let's just say the plane ride was fun. And let me just give a shout out to Southwest, they were both very cordial and entertaining.
Daddy sleeping, while trying to hole the laptop so Thomas could watch Nemo. It was sad, but also very funny to watch!!Thomas had alot of fun meeting new people and greeting everyone in line and on the plane.

The next day we took Thomas to Chuck E. Cheese while Michael was up at the U defending his Thesis (which he of course passed!! Honey, I am so proud of you, Yippee!! It's over.) Thomas loved Chuck E. Cheese!! We'll definitely have to go back again soon.Cami, my mom and my aunt Michelle came too. *Little side note: Thomas is quite good at making friends... when all of his tokens were gone, he went around finding other little boys that were riding rides and playing games and got on the ride with them. Since most of the rides fit two people, there were plenty of space. We always apologized to the other kids parents, but they didn't seem to mind, and thought it was quite funny that he kept inviting himself to their rides.

That night Amber and Trace came by and we played the newly wed game. It was quite entertaining. And, I'll have everyone know that Michael and I won against those two newly weds!! It was great seeing them.We had to take a picture of the two pregnant sisters. Amber of course found it necessary to touch the little guy. Too bad i won't be there when her little guy starts sticking out so I can pat and pet her belly. :0(We had dinner with my family and Thomas dressed up as Santa and passed out everyone's Christmas gifts since we won't be here for Christmas. He was the cutest little Santa Claus I've ever seen!! And, then we packed up our bags and headed up north to spend the rest of our time with the Coopers.Random picture, but I love this picture of Thomas climbing on the rocks. He's such a little monkey!!

At the Coopers we...

Lastly, we made it a point to go to Temple Square and see the amazing lights. There is nothing like it. Sure there are places to see the lights here in St. Louis, but there is something extra special about Temple Square. I've gone every year for forever I think. Thanks family for going with us!!

Somersaults!!

Well my little guy finally flipped around. I am so thrilled!! I thought I felt a lot of movement over the weekend, so I asked one of the resident OBs if they wouldn't mind doing an ultrasound on me last night (big perk of working in Labor and Delivery) and so she did. And his HEAD is DOWN!! Let's hope he doesn't do more somersaults. :0)
