Thomas' hospital play time

Here are some videos of Thomas playing at the hospital. If you've ever wondered why we put "Cheese!" as a caption to so many of Thomas' pictures, you'll have a better understanding, now. Once again, click through the video to watch it at youtube.com at higher quality.

Henry wakes up and says hello!

I've got another video uploaded to youtube. Henry is awake and ready to meet you in this video. The link goes to the youtube site where a higher quality version can be seen.

Henry's First Video

I've been trying to upload some videos to youtube. I'm not very experienced with it, so it's taken me some time. I think I've got things going now. Here's Henry's very first video. It was actually taken after we had been moved to postpartum, so he's probably an hour or two old by this point. If you click on the video and actually watch it on youtube, you'll be able to watch it at a higher quality.

Brothers

This slide show is mostly about brothers. Some are at the hospital where Thomas had fun playing today before we came home. Thomas held Henry for a little while after we got home. They seem to be good friends already. Thomas is more interested in Henry now that we're home. Being at home, he can play and be happy and learn more about Henry on his terms. Thomas is really gentle and is a good big brother. It's cute. Henry has been a very calm and quiet baby. He only really cries when we change his diaper. Thomas was like that, too. He didn't like being naked. (That changed. Luckily, he leaves his clothes on in bed now.) Thomas is affected when Henry is crying. He seems so concerned, and it makes him almost cry. Very tender.

More Hospital Pictures

As promised, here are some more pictures from the hospital.

New Pictures (soon)

We're still at the hospital, but we're about to go home. I've tried to upload some more pictures, but the wireless they have here at the hospital is really slow. Also, with our new camera, the files are pretty big, so I haven't been able to get it to work before timing out. When we get home and get settled, I'll post some more pictures, and possibly a video or two. Cheers.

Update (after a long wait)

As promised, here's the update. I apologize that I wasn't able to liveblog the delivery. I have a good reason, though. I am thrilled to announce the arrival of Henry Michael Cooper. He was born at 7:04 p.m. and weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and measured 21 in long. I am so proud of Aubree. She did an amazing job. She was able to deliver Henry without receiving an epidural. This is the reason I wasn't really available to blog throughout the afternoon. By mid to late afternoon, Aubree's contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart, and I was doing my best to help her get through them. It was one of the most amazing things of my life to watch her endure and overcome the immense pain that was just relentless. Henry and mom are both healthy and doing well, just tired. Just a little. Can you imagine that? So, my apologies for the delay, and without further ado, meet Henry Michael Cooper.

Birthday

Today is the day! We're at the hospital to have a baby. I'll try and keep you updated throughout the day of what's going on. We got here at 10:00* and they took us to our room and got Aubree set up on the monitor and started her IV. They started the Pitocin at 12:15. They've up the dose once now, but we're still waiting for things to really get going. I'll try and keep this updated throughout the day.
