Cutest Little Aunt Ever

As many of you know Megan has been living with us since the middle of May, and she soon will be packing her things and going home in a month. She will be greatly missed by all here. She has become well established here with many friends, jobs, ward members and callings. However, I dare say here nephews are going to miss her the very most!

Thomas loves hanging out with her. I will often find them doing the cutest, strangest things... such as singing together as Megan plays the guitar... or dancing like crazy people in the kitchen to twist n shout, or Michael's favorite... we find them putting make up on together in Megan's room. Thomas LOVES doing whatever Megan is doing and always very concerned where she is and what she is doing throughout the day.

Last night Megan fell down the stairs (she's ok), but it made a loud sound... and Thomas ran down the stairs to her side and said, "Ah oh, Megan fall down." He then proceeded to ask her if she was ok and with a very worried look on his face gave her a hug until she got up off of the stairs. What a little sweet pea.

Henry love his aunt too. Today Megan put Henry down for a nap and after about an hour I notice that Megan isn't out of his very quiet room yet. So, I peek in there and this is what I see:

ACORNS

Disclaimer: I have posted several posts for you pleading blog stalkers, but have dated them when they occurred. So, please scroll back far and don't be confused by the dates. :0)

Acorns: I bet some of you are wondering why on earth I would put gigantic acorns on my blog. I have gotten to know these little things better then I ever wanted to. I have them all over my yard, car and driveway.

I use to think of them as cute little sources of food for squirrels and such. They had the cute nut hat and everything. ICE AGE also made them popular with their little squirrel rat thing that chases after one randomly throughout their movies.

This fall, however, I have learned what a nuisance they really are... falling off trees and making messes all over your yard. AND they don't even taste good, trust me I've tried one... hey! I was curious. Oh well. Now, they forever hold a special place in my life.

Love,

ACORN hater-lover

I love my job!

How many people can say that they love going to work? How many people get...

the thrill of reviving an infant from the grasps of death,
to watch quads be born,
to hand over the baby to a couple that has been trying for a baby for over ten years and experience the true joy they have when they see their baby for the first time,
to help a pt through natural labor,
to work with 150 other crazy nurses just like yourself and feel like you're more hanging out then working...

I do!

I could go on and on, but I just wanted you to know lucky I am! I love my job!!

Error

I have been trying for over a week to post things to my blog. However, every time I try to load a picture it says error. It's quite frustrating... I don't know what to do about it and I am about to give up. Any hints out there as to what to do?

Honey

It's been a really long time since we've posted here. Things have been really, really busy. That's not likely change much in the next month, either. But, I have a quick post I would like to share. I think that Aubree is working on a post that will be coming shortly, so you can look forward to that. (At least I thought I saw her doing that, but it may have been a dream. I'm honestly not sure.)

I like to cook, when I have the time. Thomas really likes to help me cook, too. He always runs in to his room and brings out his little stool so he can reach the counter. In fact, he's standing at the counter right now waiting for the macaroni to finish cooking for mac and cheese. We have the other ingredients waiting on the counter for when the pasta is ready. Despite the quantity of times that I've told Thomas not to touch the butter, he can't seem to keep his hands off. This brings me to the real point of this post.

Aubree and I call each other "Honey." I know it's a little cliche, but it's what just naturally happened.

I guess we must do it a lot.

Thomas has stopped calling me Daddy most of the time because, to him, I am now "Honey!" For a while, I didn't know what he was saying because it sounds somewhat similar to how he says Henry. I didn't understand why he would call me Henry and it just perplexed me until one day I realized that my son was calling me "Honey." It's usually when he asked me what something is and says, "What's that, Honey?" The reason I'm posting about it now is that he keeps asking me what butter is, and each time, he calls me Honey.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!

My oh my Halloween definitely is one of my all time favorite holidays. I don't think I've missed a year without going to a haunted house since I was like 8 years old. Not to mention carving pumpkins, dressing up, loads of candy and Halloween parties. Gotta love it!

My little monkey at our ward Halloween party... so cute!Thomas hiding between the curtain and the wall at the church.
Michael with the boys strutting their costumes down the stage... cutest monkey and engineer there by far!
Henry getting familiar with Mr. pumpkin while we were carving pumpkins.

My Pumpkin... Thomas picked out the pattern! He loved this whole pumpkin carving idea!
Michael's scary pumpkin!Thomas making pumpkin cookies... he "lubbed it!" He liked to make faces with chocolate chips, though I could never really tell where the eyes, nose and mouth was.

This year we went to 2 haunted houses! It's always interesting to look around and see the types of people that go to a haunted house.

As for costumes we had a little monkey this year and a little engineer. They were pretty dang cute.

When my sister cam out we were able to take pictures of the kids... my cute nephew, Lincoln wore Thomas' pirate costume... they all looked adorable!

Halloween night we went trick or treating with the boys, it was so much fun. Out here people sit out on their driveways around fire pits and hand out their candy. Thomas got a kick out of the fires. He was so funny, we taught him to say "Happy Halloween" to everyone. And they first few houses we went to he wanted to give candy to the people instead of take it. They were so confused why they were the ones receiving candy. He soon got the hang of it and come home with two full bags of candy!!
After trick or treating, love them so much!!

Happy 25th Birthday to Me!!

Turning 25 kind of was a big deal to me. It's funny, but it made me REALLY feel like an ADULT... I'm getting closer and closer to 30. There isn't alot restrictions on me anymore.

At 16 I could drive and date. At 18 I was considered an adult. I think it's 19 you can buy tobacco (not that I do). And 21 you can buy alcohol (not that I do.) And at age 25 you can rent a car without an extra charge. Sweet!! I guess the only thing I have against me is a senior citizen discount!! LOL, I can wait for that.
Michael made me this yummy banana cake with cream cheese frosting. He made me one of my favorite meals, Chicken Enchiladas and took me out for the night. It was a wonderful Birthday. I think one of the best parts was sleeping in!! Meg watched the boys that morning. I LOVE sleeping in! What a great day!

1) I love that you made me an aunt of an adorable little boy... of whom I can't wait to see.
2) I love that you play scrabble with me from miles and miles away.
3) I love that you came out to visit me after I had baby Henry.
4) I love how we used to fight over clothing back in the day. (I actually love that we use to fit into the same clothing... now I'm shorter and "stockier" than you.)
5) I love that I can talk to you about anything.
6) I love your dimples! I think you stole one from me, because for some reason I only have one and I'm missing the other one.
7) I love that we will forever be rivalries... You love BY Poo and I am a devoted fan of the U.
8) I love the person you have become; kind, caring, creative, smart, intuitive, mother, sister and friend.

The Butterfly House a Park and a Carousel

For another activity during our staycation, we went to the Butterfly House in West St. Louis County. The Butterfly House is exactly what the name says. It's an enclosed ecosystem housing thousands of butterflies. You can see it on the left in this picture.

Inside, they have some exhibits about all kinds of bugs, and then you enter the conservatory where all of the butterflies are. Thomas enjoyed looking at all of the butterflies and bugs. Aubree had him saying, "eww" when he saw bugs. I had him saying, "cool" by the end.

Once we passed through two sets of doors (to ensure the butterflies don't escape), we were surrounded by butterflies of all types. We got a couple of good pictures, but they don't do the place justice. It's really hard to get pictures of moving butterflies. It was really gorgeous and we had a lot of fun.

After we left the Butterfly House, we went across the parking lot to a carousel.
After the carousel, we walked over to the playground. It was a nice playground with lots of kids for Thomas to play with.

A trip to the pool

Thomas loves swimming, and quite frankly so do Michael and I. So we decided that we needed to go to the pool during our stay at home vacation. I called up the out door pool by my house to find out their hours only to find out they were only open on weekends now. I was bummed, it was Friday... and I was going to have to wait until Saturday.

I mean who makes up these rules. Just because school has started for some of the kids it doesn't mean that the rest of the world doesn't want to go swimming!! I mean there have to be lots of other people with younger kids or just plain ol' adults that want to go swimming during the day. That's not fair to cater your hours around the k-12 age!!

Alright, I'm done venting...

But, we had lots of fun. So much fun that I didn't get any pictures till we got out of the pool which I deeply regret. But, they are so precious that I have to post them by themselves.

Bonk on Head

Thomas woke up this morning with a big ol' bonk on his head. I couldn't get over how huge it was. It was like a horn coming out of his head!! Wow. It didn't seem to bother him, but when I was asking him about he kept pushing on it with his finger and saying, "Owee."Check out that side view of his horn!!!Dang!! I can't get over that bump. I hope it gets better soon.
