Mei's Blessing Dress

I crocheted Mina's dress and loved it...so I knew I wanted to crochet another dress for Mei's baby blessing. B/c of the length of the gown, it took forever to crochet- but it turned out beautifully!

A friend from church that's talented with the camera (she took our family photos last year) was kind enough to come and take a few pics of Mei in her blessing dress. She took some lovely pics of Mei.

I don't know about you but I think Mei makes yarn look good, really good...

Squish!

Mei is 12 weeks old today. She's so cute I just want to squish her!

Mei is a completely different baby now that she's discovered her thumb. For the last 2 weeks she's either sleeping 7-8 hrs straight (only 1 feed at night) or 10-12 hrs straight (sleeping the entire night through)! I'm much more coherent- and Brian's glad he doesn't have to keep answering my same questions over and over again (b/c I forgot I asked earlier or b/c I can't remember his answer). Plus, Mei's getting really good at putting herself to sleep...meaning I don't have to bounce/hold her until she's asleep...meaning my neck/shoulders are happier. Lastly, the bub is napping more regularly during the day. As you all know, a well slept baby is a happy baby...which makes me happy. The first 2 months just about killed me- it's nice that it's finally getting easier! (And now that I've said that, she'll wake up every 2 hrs tonight.)

Passport Photos

Mei got her passport photos taken (sorry- not the greatest quality after scanning). Yet again proof that double chins can be cute. I can tell she's going to hate these photos when she gets older- ha ha ha!!!

The photographer included two different pictures to choose from. We chose the more "business-like" one b/c smiles aren't allowed on passports.

Thumbsuckers Unite!

Emiko has largely outgrown thumbsucking (only at night now) but I couldn't resist asking her to pose for this picture...my two favorite thumbsuckers!

Gymnastics & Cooking

Kaiya had a big weekend. She started off the weekend with the state championship meet. Her team placed 2nd and she won a silver medal. Here she is with her coach, Nicole.

Kaiya's been learning about nutrition and health in school. She was given a homework assignment to prepare, cook, and serve a meal to her family. We ate fruit kebabs & bread with butter for our appetizer...curry & rice for dinner...and churros for dessert- how's that for variety?!

The churros were pretty tasty but since I couldn't find a big enough star-shaped tip for the piping bag they didn't look as pretty as they should. Comments included "it looks like dog poop, but prettier" and "hey, worm donuts!"

Great job with gymnastics and cooking this weekend Kaiya! We sure do love having you in our family...

4 Weeks Old

Mei got her pictures taken at 4 weeks old. She's now over 9 weeks...better late than never, right?!

If you're wondering how she looks now- just imagine fuller cheeks, more enhanced double chin, and bigger fat rolls!

Aussie Father's Day

Father's Day in Australia is celebrated the 1st Sunday in September. Notice the green-colored theme in the presents...

It was an extra special Father's Day because Mei's baby blessing was today at church.

I love how Mei is looking at Brian...too precious.
