Dear Cameron,
Wait! You are
8!!!! My big boy!!! I know I say this a lot…but I’m so thankfully that you made
me a Mommy!!! The journey to motherhood
was challenging but the rewards are priceless!
This year, I have seen major growth in your personality. You are becoming more helpful – taking the
initiative to be more helpful to Granny on a daily basis. You have always been very outspoken but this
year you are speaking more about my cooking skills or lack thereof! If something tastes different, you are quick
to let me know. If it is nasty, you
undoubtedly let me know. (hahaha) I must add (insert a lil sassiness) that I can
cook – everyone else likes it…LOL In
life, sometimes you have to be more delicate or considerate of others so I was
quick to let you know that negative statements were hurtful. My big boy didn’t realize the impact so now you
say…I appreciate you cooking but…. (LOL)
-- Thank you for that! Your
spiritual interest is on the high this year.
I often find you reading a Bible or asking more questions related to the
Bible. You go to bed reading and once you are dressed for school, you read a
couple of verses. You even download the
Bible app on your phone! Mommy is so
proud (pleased)!!!! You and Caleb have definitely encouraged us to attend
church and to be more involved. I know
we are not where we should be in terms of a church home or have established a
clear relationship with God, but I thank you for encouraging us to do better. Well, no sports this year for you. Second grade kept us all rather busy!! (Edit
to ADD) --- Boy you got us this year in second grade. You received an award for the HIGHEST GRADE
in SECOND GRADE!!! WOOOT!!!! That’s my smart boy!!! So very proud of you!!! We
knew you had outstanding grades…but the highest?! Boy…you had us in tears…we
were so very proud/pleased. This year is
going to be great. I can’t wait to see you involve over the summer. Oh, your theme for this year’s party was the
NINJAGO! You wanted only LEGOs as gifts! Needless to say, we are still building
LEGOs!!! LoL
From the very
moment you were created, I loved you.
Eight years later, you have brought so much joy into our home. You are loved. You are appreciated. You are valued. You are more than you know. (and stop finding my grammatical errors lolol
– you are so like your daddy) Smart!!!
I know I tend to write “life lessons” more so in your
letters. That is only because you are
the first born and you experience ups and downs first. I want you to use these “lessons” or “words
of encouragement” to help you out in life and to help your siblings. They will
depend on you!

Love you more than
life itself --- MOMMY
Note: Instructions for Chloe’s big day – (if dad is
gone on and if I am not there L - pains me to write that) when the preacher asks who giveth
her away…you, Caleb, or Cater (all or select one) say….my father wanted it be
known…that if he was here, that he would not give her away (smile) He will only
share her, he will always be there! You all step aside and let her take her
future husband’s hand. (sweet) So this
is just a little “humor” but “awe” moment to spice up the ceremony. Chloe is
his only little girl! #protective
