Bring Me Down

One of the better bands out there that has had some success in the secular market as well as the Christian market is Pillar. They have a been around for a few years and have a new album out that I listened to but didn't purchase. That's not to take away from the band, but it just wasn't my favorite.

So you may ask, why are you sharing this band with us, or with your students at school? Very simply to share some hard rock music that has a positive message. There's so much out there that I would listen to if I didn't have the Christian music alternative. I'm so glad that there are tons of bands in every genre that are Christian, it makes it easier for me to enjoy music. My wife is happy too! She was a big reason why I got rid of a bunch of music. In college the reason was money, I could sell my cd's to Hastings in Searcy and get some cash, which I usually used to take out dates. Then later in college still my brother and his wife were extreme, they got rid of a lot of music and tried to listen solely to Christian music, that's back in the day when there weren't that many good bands, at least for my taste. Then I got married and my wife put her foot down. It's been great too.

I feel a difference when I listen to Christian music. My day goes better when I start it with a positive message. That's why I wanna share all my music with my kids at GACS. They need to hear good bands that have good material, and not junk like they hear on MTV or VH1. So thanks Pillar for making some popular music with a message!
