Much of You by Steven Curtis Chapman

I was mowing my lawn over the weekend and this song came on my MP3 player (notice I didn't say iPOD) and I fell in love with it again. To me its one of those Christian music anthems in the same vein as last week's song Indescribable. On these songs I really like to turn up the volume and push repeat. The third or fourth time I hear it the meaning sinks in.
In high school my youth minister used to ask my what my one goal or purpose in life was. The correct answer (which he finally shared with me) was to glorify God in all things through his son Jesus. This song reminds me of Reid Moon's purpose in life. Give it all to him.

I want to make much of You, Jesus
I want to make much of Your love
I want to live today to give You the praise
That You alone are so worthy of
I want to make much of Your mercy
I want to make much of Your cross
I give You my life
Take it and let it be used
To make much of You

College Football is HERE!

I love football season (especially since I am not coaching - not that I could because I never played organized football except in college and that was flag football and I was a lineman and actually tore my ACL playing one night in the mud and had to have surgery that Christmas to repair it and then had to go through rehab which really really hurts but I still love football).

I pine for it to come around every year. This weekend was filled with some great stuff.
Penn State winning big, even if it was FIU
Michigan losing to App State (where I take our wrestlers for camp every summer since 2000)
ND losing big to Georgia Tech (not that GT is my team but they're Atlanta)
Georgia winning a good game over OK State
Cal coming back over Tennessee after last years embarrassment
Not many surprises but it was a good weekend

First NFL Game - Ever!

That's right, I got to go to my first official (even though it was preseason) NFL game on Friday night and see the Falcons woop up on the Ravens. Well, maybe not woop up on but they beat them which I love because the Ravens are in my division (yes with the Steelers). I have been a diehard Steelers fan since birth (because I was born in Pittsburgh) but now I feel something for the underdog Falcons. Because they are in the NFC and because they are now searching for an identity without Mike Vick, I feel like it's my duty as a citizen of Atlanta to support them. The seats were great and free so I came away with loving the whole experience. We didn't get to see any starters but it was still fun being there and paying $4 for a Diet Coke and $7 for some cinnamon peanuts and $1.50 for a cookie (which I thought was a steal!)
