upcoming projects

I've been wanting to make each of my kids a quilt. I finally found a pattern for Lilly, and one for Kaitlynn. Here are some pics of the fabric

Lilly's will be more of a scrap/mismatched quilt (I'm not done collecting fabric for hers yet)

Kaitlynn's has more coordinating colors.

Now just to find the time to sit and cut everything out!

happenings

For the last week we have been painting our front room, upstairs hallway, and entryway. It's not the exact color I was looking for but I still like it, and it's better than the yellowish tan we had before. (not the best picture)
I also found this cutout for sandwiches at walmart for like a dollar the kids love it!!

We also moved Lilly into Payten's room, she is such a light sleeper I didn't want her and the baby to share a room. She was not happy to sleep there for the first few nights but now she's fine with it, so we will be looking for a set of bunkbeds, Payten is excited about this cause he knows he'll got the top bunk and get to climb up a ladder to his bed.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Friday the kids and I made some heart crafts and then some yummy apple crisp. Later on Patrick and I went out to eat at the Tree room up at sundance, it was delicious!

Patrick got the kids some Valentines day goodies...Payten just some candy, Lilly got candy and a new dress, and Kaitlynn got a little doggy and an outfit. Thank you daddy, we love you!

crafty afternoon

I was finally able to sit down and work on some hairclipies for Lilly today. Pretty happy with the outcome and now I've just gotta try my hand at tying bows for clipies.

a couple of things

First off these delicious peanut butter bars. Very yummy, but definitely not healthy
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. sugar
1 C. margarine
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 C. peanut butter
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 C. flour
2 C. oatmeal
Combine sugars, margarine, vanilla, eggs, peanut butter with mixer. Then add baking soda, salt, flour and oatmeal and mix with wooden spoon or mix all in kitchen aid. Spread evenly onto greased jelly roll pan and Bake @ 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool and spread thin layer of peanut butter then top with chocolate frosting.
Frosting:
1 cube margarine
6 Tbsp milk
3 Tbsp cocoa
1 pound powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla
Combine margarine, milk, and cocoa in saucepan and cook on low till bubbles around edges. Remove from heat and mix in powdered sugar and vanilla with hand mixer till smooth, and spread over peanut butter. Enjoy!!! (the frosting is okay but I'd prefer more of a chocolate taste over the sweetness of this frosting)
and secondly
I got out of the shower this morning and this is how Payten and Lilly were watching TV. I love it when I find them playing together or sitting with each other.

Valentines treats early

Today the kids and I made some yummy rice krispy treats and decided to make them red, we were going to shape them into hearts but Kaitlynn decided she wanted to nurse right in the middle of making them so o-well maybe next week.

Rolly-Polly

She finally did it, Kaitlynn has been trying to roll over to her tummy for the last week and last night she finally did it. Although now the second I lay her on the ground she rolls and then gets mad at being on her tummy.
