December bonus pictures

Ada received a few boxes from Mormor and Morfar for Christmas. She liked the hangers that came in one box.

This box had wrapped presents so she went ahead and climbed in to protect them from someone else opening. She could tell they played fun music before opening.

Little smirker playing with blocks

Taking a bath with the octopus. We post a lot of bath pictures. She's always happy in the bath though, so I guess that's why.

We randomly went to this park up on a bluff above Miramar Lake. Ada went on the swings, and then we walked around this loop a few times while the sun set. It was gorgeous. Our neighbors said that Miramar Lake has a 5 mile loop around it so we're planning to try that out soon.

Snuggling on the couch with Mom.

Crawling around while Dad assembles our new grill in the background!

Ada helped me clean off her tray after lunch
Apparently it was exhausting

Smiling at Daddy

We are off to Portland and Seattle in a few days. Hopefully we're good about taking pictures!

Outdoor pool in December!

Somehow it happened that we live in a place where our condo's outdoor pool is open year round.

So, when we got new beach towels from Mormor and Morfar for Christmas, we decided to head over.

The pool was too cold by the time we went (maybe 5pm) so Rachel just got in the hot tub. We thought Ada would think it was too hot but she was happy to play in the warm water.

She's getting into the idea of swimming and was a great kicker on this visit!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We drove up to St. George for Thanksgiving. Ty made his new creation, turkey cheese balls! Rachel made her family's blueberry pie recipe. Both were hits.

It was a great, fast trip, and only had bad traffic in one direction (on the way back to San Diego). Ty got a few rounds of golf in and some shop time at Wood Creations. Rachel got a haircut for half the price of SoCal cuts and a craft night with her sisters at Wood Creations. Also, our gift from the Goodmans was a night out while they watched Ada. When we got home she was sleeping downstairs with Grandma and Grandpa. Here is proud Grandpa successfully moving her from snuggle position into the crib.

As usual we didn't get enough pictures while we were there, but we did get a few cute shots of Ada in the pile of leaves.

And a few shots of Ada and Auri, though I'm not sure they were thrilled with the posing. They're 2 months apart and not looking quite so different these days compared to a few months ago!

At the park with Daddy

Mini photo shoot at the nearby park earlier this month

I think they like each other!

2 more bath pictures

hat trick

This morning Ada was still pretty tired, so we went for a walk so she could look around without crawling around. It was 7:30am and chilly so I put a hat on her. When we got back she was happy and cute as usual

not sure about keeping the hat on though

success!

oh wait, it's actually kind of nice...

Sick days...

Ada has had a bit of a stomach bug since Monday. It has been sporadic so she was at daycare on Monday and Tuesday but after throwing up lunch 2 days in a row she has been home Wednesday and Thursday. She's hopefully improving though still not too interested in food. Poor baby. But we're lucky this is her first sickness (other than some colds) and she's 10 months.

She has been much more tired, resting on her back between moments of play.

Still happy though a lot of the time!

She also got some extra bath time with Mom

And despite being tired managed to take every single toy out of the box

One of the days she was home, Ty stayed home in the morning and we met for lunch and baby hand-off. Ada liked her first chopstick experience.

Bonus pictures

Several pictures that don't really fit in other posts:

A favorite. She opens her mouth when she gets excited, and her eyes are beautiful.

Teeth! The top middles are really obvious in this one, and since then the next 2 on top broke through. She looks different upside down!

Can you hold my rattle? She's getting braver standing with one hand. She can stand on her own but doesn't like to, she gets scared as soon as she realizes what's going on. We thought she might be walking pretty soon but now she seems pretty happy crawling super fast.

Easy question:

Can reach and play the piano with both hands!!

I think I want that in my mouth...                   yep.

Ready for bath! She gets excited when we turn on the water. She does NOT like getting out.

This is why she needs the daily bath!

Commute

We're happy with the daycare we found, but it is in the other direction from work so the commute has gotten a bit longer in the evening for Rachel (and started longer in the morning for Ty). However, it's now faster to head north in the evening so at this time of year I get to see the sunset over the Pacific on a daily basis  (and usually several hot air balloons) so I will try not to complain about other aspects of SoCal traffic and drivers...
