corn on the cob
Ada just ate over half of an ear of corn. Uncooked.
I couldn't pick a picture; she looks so different in all 3.

Rain! and a few other pictures
In no particular order...
Ada's first backpack
Playing piano in a boxHere's the rain! It has maybe rained a handful of times since we moved here, so have to go outside when it does so Ada can learn the word rain! She did, and liked it. It was also thundering this day, which is very unusual here.
"Ada do it" is a new thing. She likes to try to dress herself, put on her own shoes, cut her own food (like shredded wheat, or watermelon with a spoon). She can usually get her head through the hole but getting an arm in was pretty impressive.
Triple fisting: water, milk, and green juice.
Waving bye-bye to Mama leaving for work
Ada is also doing a great job potty training herself. She likes to go, so we let her and she is almost always successful. Definitely still goes in her diaper but seems possible.
Portland
Lucky for us, Mara and DJ's wedding was about 30 minutes outside of Portland, so we were able to stay with Mark, Deirdre, and Kira. We were pretty busy with wedding stuff so didn't get quite as much time as other trips, but we did get to go to the zoo on Saturday morning, and got to hang out all day on Sunday. It was hot in Portland (and apparently pouring in San Diego) so Mark set up their super fun kiddie pool for the girls. Ada got cold pretty quickly, but went back in after a short blackberry break.
They were well supervised.
Didn't get enough pictures of the crazy girls chasing each other around, but it was a great weekend!

The flower girl!
Mara and DJ asked Ada to be their flower girl before she could walk. Ada agreed and worked hard to get some practice for a few months before the big day! Mara picked out a pretty dress for her and Mama did her best to get a few barrettes to stay in her fine hair. Ada did so great, I was impressed. Right before the ceremony she fell down and cried, and seemed pretty tired, but apparently she rallied! Daddy sent Ada down the aisle to Mommy.
Ada headed down the aisle before seeing Mama though. You can see in this picture how much everyone loved her.
Ada did manage to throw a few petals before dumping them all out and saying "uh oh!" loudly several times. She and Ty didn't stay through the ceremony.
Few more pictures before and after the ceremony
Dad is doing a good job distracting Ada with crackers and games to keep her off the muddy grass before the ceremony
After the ceremony, finally let her run wherever she wanted!
Sleepy after the ceremony but she stayed awake until about 9:45pm.
We got to be with Corinne and Efraim for several hours at the wedding too, it was great to catch up even though it was a short visit.

Rachel and Mara the beautiful bride
We had a few professional pictures taken of the 3 of us as well so looking forward to seeing those too. Thanks Mara and DJ for including us in your beautiful wedding!

Goodmans come to San Diego and steal Ty and Ada away to St. George
Grandma and Papa flew in on Monday before the 4th of July to see Ada. We try to visit fairly often but there are always so many people, she hasn't had much one-on-one time. They stayed home with her on Tuesday and Wednesday morning while Dad and Mom went to work. She really liked her Grandma and Papa!
On Wednesday afternoon they left with Ty and Ada for St. George. On the way they stopped at the newly opened Las Vegas Wood Creations store. The entrepreneurs have expanded to 2 stores! Ada enjoyed the Legos before the remainder of the drive to St. George.
Since it was summer in St. George, it was hot!! So Ada got to do super fun things like eat Popsicles with Daddy
and play in the kiddy pools with her cousin Jaron
Mama flew up to Vegas on Friday to catch up. On this trip we spent a few nights at Grandma's, and a night at Mike and Quels, where Ada gets to play (or, snuggle and drink milk) with her cousin closest in age, Auri.
The evening of the 4th, Ty had bought some home fireworks to set off for the kids. The neighbors though were doing some huge shows, so we got to alternate with small ones in the foreground and big ones in the background. Ada didn't like the big ones, they were too loud and scary. At some point we realized she had fallen asleep on Mama's lap.
The littlest golfer
Our new San Diego friends Thao, Hai, and baby Linh put in a putting green in their yard. Their yard and brand new house are gorgeous, and relaxing. And Ada and Ty had lots of fun during Ada's first golf lesson!
Finding the hole
First putt!
Reading the green
Placing the balls for the next practice round
Removing all the balls she got in!
Also, Hai cooked us a delicious brunch...we're not sure we can ever invite them over again for our regular food...
