Beach Weekend

Last weekend we went to the beach both on Saturday on Sunday. Didn't take enough pictures at all, but we had a good time. On Saturday we went up to Camp Pendleton to meet up with Seth and Laura. Good food, good waves, great time! Ty did some skim boarding with the board he made. He's thinking of getting back into it. On Sunday we went to Torrey Pines and met up with Elena and family. Also great, though shorter since we forgot food for Ada, and because the bridge was closed and we ended up parking on opposite ends of the beach...so did a bit of walking. Really nice weather both days. Not hot at all. the water is cool but you can adjust pretty easily.

Eating

Ada is getting better at solids. Sometimes. Here she is with a yogurt face. We try to give her that since it's higher calorie than most other things, and she seems to like it. 

Cherries! She finger painted with these, pretty much. though I picked them up and fed her, so she at them all eventually. These are tricky to pick up, but she hasn't really figured the finger food thing out yet. 

 Happy eating sweet potatoes and puffs! We made a big batch of sweet potatoes so she gets those pretty often and likes them. They are really good, nice texture.

We finally tried the puffs Aunt Deirdre, Uncle Mark, and cousin Kira sent her. She will eat them if you put one in her mouth, most of the time...

Ty and I are much more refined eaters. We ate a pepper from our garden.

Pretty bad fire we were stopped by just before getting home from St. George with our new car. There were planes dropping retardant and a helicopter landed right next to the freeway. We were a little closer to it than I would have liked.

 Enjoying sharing cousin Aurora's toy. She is very good at pulling herself to standing, and this was a great height for her.

Garden update

Our patio garden was successful. The basil went crazy, got tons. We're getting a few green peppers and tomatoes. The tomato plants have pretty much died, but next year if we start them earlier in bigger pots we might do pretty well.

Ada started crawling around the time of the Michigan trip. She's getting really good at it now and follows us around when we leave the room. Sorry it's sideways, don't know how to change that on the editor.
