Easter Sunday
Our cute little Easter Kiddos
Our Easter was kind of quiet. Church was really nice. We happened to have fast Sunday on Easter due to the temple dedication this Sunday. (We are so excited to have a temple again!!! Whew Hew!)
The choir sang a few songs, we had testimonies and the Bishop closed the meeting with some thoughts. I thought it was wonderful! Primary was hyped up on sugar but that's another story!!!

The Party is Over!
We're finally done celebrating Alyssa's birthday!
We celebrated as a family on Wednesday, the day before her actual birthday due to most people in the family having activities on Thursday.
On Thursday I took cupcakes into her class to celebrate. Instead of making the ice cream cupcakes like she wanted I cheated! I made another batch of cupcakes and remade the giraffe! The kids at school loved it!

Alyssa and her teacher Ms. Murillo
They ask that you bring birthday treats in at lunch which is a great idea. Eli loved it! We made him a lunch and he put it in his little backpack and thought he was big stuff getting to eat with "La-La" (his name for Lyssa) at school.
She enjoyed getting to talk to so many people on Thursday night! She felt very loved!!!
Friday was her "party". She wanted to go to see the movie Rio and go out to dinner. She invited her friend Aris and her friend Mrs. Layde , who brought her darling daughter Molly. It was a great girls night out!!! The movie was very cute and very well done, the kids as well as the grown ups loved it!
After the movie we went to dinner. Those girls can giggle!! Molly was so cute, she was teasing them with a kissing picture in a Tangled sticker book. We all just laughed! I enjoyed having Laura along, she is a fun person to be with!
We have definatley celebrated her birthday with style this year!!!! Until next year's birthday....adieu!

Alyssa...
...is 7
It's hard to believe our fun lovin' giraffe girl is already 7. She is such a cute little gal and fun and usually easy to have around! She loves her family and is very thoughtful of others. She loves to read and loves to play on Webkinz!
She is a lucky little gal...she got to celebrate her birthday last night. There are so many things going on tonight we wanted her to have her own special dinner and cake etc. She didn't complain too much about having to celebrate early!!! I'll take cupcakes into her school for lunch today and tomorrow she'll have a little girls night out with her friend! Plenty of celebrations!!!
Happy Birthday!

Emmy's Talent Show
Emmy participated in her school's talent show a couple of weeks ago. It is a HUGE deal at her school and many kids try out and only a select few are chosen.
They do the show two nights in a row and she doesn't seem to be nervous. She just comes out, plays and does a great job! (warning: Meg was helping me video and she doesn't have the steadiest hand, so close your eyes and listen...no motion sickness that way)
Emmy's cute Beehive adviser came to watch her and brought her these beautiful sunflowers. She told her she chose those because they are cheerful flowers, and their stems are strong and unbend-able and they follow the sun. That's how she feels about Emmy. It was Sister Henrie's birthday so Emmy brought her flowers!
We're proud of our Emmy, she is a great girl!

Birthday Festivities
This year Eli's birthday festivities were spread over two days!
Tuesday is our youth night at church so Steve, Emmy and Meggy all head to the church before 7 p.m. So Tuesday we did presents and we did cake and ice cream on Wednesday! He didn't seem to mind at all!
Tuesday I had put all his presents on top of the entertainment center. It nearly drove him crazy having to wait! All day long he kept asking to open presents. My response, "When daddy gets home you can open presents". The minute Steve walked through the door it was time for Eli to open presents!!! He was thrilled with so many fun new things to play with!!!
Let the present opening begin!!! He was sooo excited!!!
He loves his Indiana Jones hat!!! Now he can play in style with his whip (the belt from Steve's bathrobe, it's blue and doesn't hurt so bad when he gets you!!)
He has great coordination and loves to hit his baseball...of course he has to wear his baseball hat to play!!!
I loved his request for dinner, Pancakes, whip cream and strawberries. Super yummy and super easy! We put 3 candles in his pancakes and he thought that was fun!
We learned at dinner that night that Emmy has never lit a match. We handed her the box and told her to light one. Her response...."I don't know how to put it out". All you can do at that point is shake your head and laugh! Really Emmy? You blow it out!!!!
Wednesday we had the official cake and ice cream.
I had made the cake and put it on the table. Eli decided to come along and push the candles down into the cake, oh well, at least he didn't ruin it completeley!!!
The partying is over...he can get on to being 3 now!!!!!
Eli felt very very loved on his birthday, thank you for all the calls, cards and packages!!!

The Story of Spring Break
This little piggie went to Market...
Those of us at home had a great time as well!!!
These little piggies stayed home....
This little piggie had roast beef...(chili dogs and cheese fries)
These little piggies had none....
This little piggie cried "I have to come home"
Emmy got to go on a GREAT trip to Washington DC with her friend Katie and her family over Spring Break.
She left last Saturday night and returned to us last night. She had a great time and got to experience so many neat things. The highlight being a meeting with a Congressman from Georgia and a VIP tour of the capital. (I'll do another big post when we got all the other pictures from the trip)
On Monday we went to see Hop with Mrs. Layde and her girls. Following the movie we got frozen yogurt and then the girls came and played while I got to visit with Laura. It was so much fun...we need to do it more often!
Reality will be hard to face early Monday morning!!!

What Happened?
The boy is not even three years old and he has had so many bumps, bruises and gashes on his head. It's always the head! This pretty little thing happened last week. The owie itself is not funny but Eli's explanation of it is hilarious!
The real story: Steve always takes Eli potty before bedtime in our bathroom. Then there is a chase down the hallway to Eli's room to head to bed. This particular night Eli was running and jumped onto his bed hitting his eye on the headboard of his bed causing it to split and bleed.
Eli's Story: (this is what he says when someone asks him what happened to his eye) He always prefaces it with daddy chasing him and then the great line!

"Super Eli can't fly"
That's what he tells people! They don't know whether to feel bad for him or to laugh out loud! We have heard it several times and it's still just funny! Better to learn now that flying is not one of his super powers!

Oops!
Happy April Fool's Day
I love to get my kids for April Fool's Day! Nothing mean...just fun little tricks in their lunches or at dinner time. This year I sabotaged their lunches and snacks. I switched the individual bags of chips so the Doritos had Cheetos in them etc. I also added some Reese's Pieces into the fruit snacks that they took for snacks.
I thought I was clever but it freaked out Alyssa's teacher.
She called me and said, "Hi, this is Ms. M , Alyssa's teacher. There is nothing wrong, I just wanted you to be aware that the fruit snacks that you sent for snacks had extra M&M things in them. At first we thought there was only 1 and so I had her dump them out but there was lots of them. I went and asked the teacher across the hall what she thought and we thought it best if she didn't eat them. We just wanted to let you know that you got a bad box of fruit snacks". I contained myself through her talking. Then I started chuckling...and said, "I know, I did that! I added the Reese's Pieces! April Fool's!! Thank heavens she laughed!
So instead of just getting Alyssa I got 2 teachers at the school as well!!
