The older kids are in soccer for the first time this year through the town recreation program. They both love it and I love watching them run their hardest for 2 hours a week. It makes me realize how much more time they need outside running all that energy off!
This first picture was my favorite moment. James was driving down the field, but another player was right on him, so he stopped dead in his tracks (his specific strategy) and the other player blows past him. By the time they turn around to come back, James has passed the ball to a teammate waiting outside the fray (they have the presence of mind to do that at this age!) and she kicks it in the goal. I love that they're old enough to use strategy and team work and proud of James for not being a ball hog!
We went to cheer on a boy scout bike ride later in the day. I captured Claire's signature face that she makes when she's happy, silly, contemplative, or dubious. Love it. Also, Dan comforting an over tired Rosemary who just walked into that sign. He's such a good Daddy!
