Valentine's Day Cookies

Ok, so we're still more than a couple weeks from Valentine's day, but I wanted to do this and it worked out that today Dan was gone, I had a lot of time to fill on Sunday afternoon, and I have someone coming to clean tomorrow (confession: this Fall I decided to start using some of my photo money to hire help to keep my kitchen and bathrooms clean). I really want to capture more of these types of moments. I think I should keep my back up camera ready with my new 35mm lens on it all the time so I can document my kids' life better this way!

They love to bake and are actually really good at doing it themselves. I just sat back and watched and cleaned. We doubled the batch so the kids could share cookies and do math, but they licked their fingers too much to share, except James. He stayed on the other side of the counter and washed his hands a lot so he could bring cookies to some neighbors and his teacher. He's such a sweetheart.

Happiness is the whole beater to yourself!

Claire loves to clap flour off her hands. Usually I reprimand her, but today we were beyond messy, and that was part of the point.

Seriously? Eating straight flour?

I love that almost all day on Sundays, they just play together. This is why I had so many kids and so closely spaced. I also love that after all the work we've put into house projects, that I can sit back and watch my family enjoy them.
