My best attempt at getting all three together! Everyone has combed hair and clean faces and they are all looking at the camera!

My Girls
Before church this morning. I just threw a little bow in Liz's hair and plopped her in Sarah's lap. I really like how it turned out!

Special Time With Elizabeth
Joshua letting Elizabeth use his special chair. He has been very clear that he is not ready to give her the chair, but was willing to let her share it! Can't you see the love in his face?
Sarah holding Elizabeth when she was hungry. She started sucking on Sarah's fingers, which just thrilled Sarah! She still isn't getting enough time holding her new sister and can't understand why she can't stand up and walk around while she holds her!
Donald holding his sleepy baby. I had her all set for a bath, but just couldn't keep her awake! I took her to Donald and he held her for her whole nap. Can you see what a big girl she is?

Just for fun...

Joshua at about 3 weeks old. A lot of people have commented about how surprised they were to see all of Elizabeth's dark hair, so I thought it would be fun to post a picture of Sarah and Joshua as newborns. Both had the same dark hair. Sarah's just gradually fell out and was replaced by lighter hair. Joshua's fell out quickly at a few months of age and he looked like an old man with male pattern baldness! Hopefully, Elizabeth's will fall out gradually!

And finally, Sheila at one day old. Hard to say which is the cutest, huh?Posted by Picasa

ONE WEEK OLD!

Here is beautiful Elizabeth at one week. She is less yellow now and eating better. I have to take her in to have her weight checked tomorrow or Friday, but I can tell she is eating better! She is such a joy and blessing!

A tender moment with Daddy.

I love this picture because, at least for one day, I had all three of my babies cuddled with me, reading a book. It was a really special moment for me that I hope is repeated over and over again.

Welllll, after 40 long weeks and 4 looooong days, Miss Elizabeth Kay Decker was born on September 2, 2009 at 4:09 PM in Chico, CA. Since she was past her three day window that Sarah and Joshua had come in, Sheila had an induction done Wednesday morning. All went smoothly, and by that afternoon, we had our new baby girl. We had two great sets of friends (Thanks Picketts and Brandons) take care of Sarah and Joshua for the day. Sadly, by the time Sheila got into her recovery room, it was too late for the kids to come in to see them. So bright and early Thursday morning, I had Sarah play hooky from school and we went in and got everyone together for the family photo you see here! Lovely isn't it? Elizabeth has been sleeping well, it seems at least in part to an elevated bilirubin, but for now diet is the only treatment being recommended. Well, that and lots of bowel movements! She is awfully cute though, and we are very glad to have her in our family!!!

Sarah delivering her welcome greetings to her new baby sister.
So I do not think I have seen a girl so excited to be having a little baby sister. She and Joshua were singing a little song about being a family on the way to the hospital to meet Elizabeth, and was just enthralled with her. She has been so gentle with her since bringing her home and is even planning a welcome home party, but we have not been able to make it out to the store to buy some gifts for her yet.

Proud new momma and her baby Elizabeth Kay.

Not a great high quality shot, since it was from my phone while I was holding her, but I loved her little hands and fingers up by her face. I can just hear her thoughts....what did I get myself into, and who are these two people that keep calling themselves my Momma and Daddy?

Chilling out under the heat lamps. She got to cuddle with Sheila for a while before they moved her over to the heat lamps to trim her cord and check her over. As you can see on her head and chest, she had some brusing from coming out so quick, but overall was just a lvoely beautiful girl for us to see. and the lungs on her WAHHHHHH!

If there is one thing we have learned it is hard work to be a momma, and you have to make sure to take out time for a High Tea! Sarah cleaned out her little porcelain tea set and then got out some Lorna Doone cookies and water for her and Momma. Joshua stood by anxiously and then was able to get his own cup (which he gulped) and eat his own cookies. Fun was had by one and all.

This is my alert little baby girl. We have already found she does not like to be changed with the fan on, and does especially not like diaper changes.
