ramblings...

lately, when people ask me how i'm doing/what i've been up to, i've been having a hard time answering. it's not a bad thing...things have been good - it's just that nothing really stand-outish has happened in a while. (which is also why i haven't been updating very much lately.) but things have been good...

so i wanted to update just 'cuz it's been a while, but i'm not quite sure what to write about, so i'm just going to ramble a bit...feel free to disregard the rest of this.

since a lot of time in l.a. is spent driving, i'm just gonna write about some observations...

- my car has a squeaky steering wheel. at first, it just squeaked when i made tight turns/u-turns. but now, it pretty much squeaks whenever i make any type of turn. i guess i was kinda used to it, so i didn't really notice how much squeakier it got until recently when carpool buddies started commenting on it. so now i'm very aware of it, though it doesn't really bother me. just thought it was interesting how unaware i was until someone else pointed it out...and how that applies to a lot of other things in life.

- i was driving somewhere with s.park, and she noted that i'm really sensitive about yellow lights. i ran a yellow or two that night, and each time i did, i apologized to her, and said something like, "i'm gonna run this," just to give her warning. so i had to explain to her my process...basically, whenever i'm approaching a stop light, i almost always look for the walk signal to try to gauge how much time i have. if it's the man walking, then i can relax and drive through. if it's the red hand (blinking or solid), then i'm thinking, is it going to turn yellow soon, can i make it, should i speed up or slow down? it bothers me that sometimes the red hand will be there for a long time while the light stays green, and other times, the minute the walk signal goes to the hand, the light turns yellow. i think it's 'cuz i don't like running yellows, and i don't like stopping abruptly. anyways, susan just laughed at me for over-analyzing stop lights...another thing that applies to other things in life.
