zion...

went camping in zion this past weekend. much, much fun. the first hike up to observation point killed my calves for the rest of the trip (and the rest of the week), but it was a nice hike. the views were incredible, and it was so peaceful to be up in the mountains. especially liked treating ourselves to soda and ice cream afterwards (thanks, suosan!). on saturday we hiked/waded the narrows, and that was my favorite...though the river current was a little scary at times. finally learned how to skip stones, which turned into a stone skipping "olympiad," as jason put it...had to be there. had a leisurely dinner, checked out the michael fatali gallery (beautiful), had some more ice cream. we headed back early sunday morning, and hit vegas for lunch on the way...stuffed ourselves at the wynn buffet...yum, yum. walked it off at the mall (playing around with the macbooks was hilarious), then caught the last 30 mins of the korea-france world cup game (yaay!) before heading back.

zion itself was beautiful, and i had such a great time hanging out with the gang. some highlights/inside jokes: tiger balm, gross out stories (yes, i'm the one who kept on oversharing), underwear, s'mores, logic games, getting squished in the middle of the night, listening to the wind try to blow away our tent, stars, patrick the water-baby, snoring, lobster bisque, shuwen's scary lantern, static electricity, jason's citronella candle obsession, brain freeze, vacuum sealing.

the gang...james is that blue speck way in the back.

in honor of the master jumping picture-taker...can you see how far up we are?

go bears!

went up to norcal this past weekend for annie's wedding. don't have the wedding pics yet, but we spent half a day at our old stomping grounds...
had such a good time with the girls...it says something when you can talk for the full 5 hour drive up and the drive back down...good times.

i know i'm biased, but berkeley has to be one of the most beautiful college campuses...

didn't get a pic of the food we ate, but for lunch we got top dog (sigh...so good), intermezzo, fat slice, and la burrita. (sadly, espresso experience and coffeesource were closed.) it's all about the food...
