Memorial Weekend

That was Riley banging on the keyboard!! While I am typing, Josh is cooking, cleaning the kitchen, and entertaining Riley in the exersaucer!! We had a very fun Memorial weekend. Riley and I did a little shopping on Saturday. We also went to over to Kim's for her birthday which was Monday. We had a fun visit with her and Jacob. On Sunday we went to church, and Riley was VERY GOOD. Then we went to Miles to see Grandma and Grandpa. Riley got to take a nap with Grandma!! Then we went to San Angelo to visit with Keith, Kendra, and Kory. Riley had fun watching Kory and Carter play. She sat in Carter's exersaucer for a while and she was talking at the top of her lungs with excitement. On Monday Riley and I went back to San Angelo to spend time with Jon, Lacy, and Davis. Riley found some of Davis' toys to chew on. I think we need to get her some more chew toys! We met up with Josh to eat supper at Granny Prine's for Nana and Papa's birthdays. Abbie made Riley laugh with her funny dancing. Papa discovered that Riley likes raspberries on her tummy! Riley really likes it outside. She just watches everything going on and is so calm. Riley is becoming such a momma's girl too. She only wants to be with me sometimes. She might even cry if she sees me walking out of the room. She has also started having a little stranger anxiety. When people she doesn't know try to hold her or get in her face she might cry. Riley is starting to sit up. She does pretty good with the boppy around her, and she can sit up on her own for a few seconds.

Fun Pics

Josh and Riley are all smiles right before we went to the mall for a little shopping and Chick-Fil-A. She is our fun, sweet little angel!

Riley was SO GOOD at the mall, but she was worn out by the time we got home!!This is Riley with onsie extensions right before supper time.

Josh has so much fun playing with Riley! It looks like Pepper wants to play too.

Riley is sitting up so well. She isn't quite steady enough to sit without the boppy, but I am sure she will be getting into the sitting position on her own soon.

Josh thought it was so cute to put my bikini top on Riley. I don't think she was very amused. Hopefully the weather will get warmer soon and Riley can put her own swimsuit on and play in a kiddie pool!!

Weekend Recap

Riley is turning out to be quite the shopper. We got to Target at about 9:00 on Saturday morning. I put Riley in the Snugli to shop. She ended up falling asleep in the Snugli. Then we went to Old Navy and she slept in the stroller for the majority of the time. Finally Riley let me know that it was time to eat, so we went to the car for a midmorning bottle. After the bottle, we went to WalMart to get a few things. We were home by noon for a little lunch and relaxation. (for Riley anyways) I was able to put away a pile of clean clothes while Riley had fun in the exersaucer. As if we didn't do enough shopping earlier, we went to the mall that afternoon too. We didn't spend much time at the mall since Riley was so tired from shopping so much! Then daddy came home and Riley was all charged up again! She got so excited when she saw her daddy! On Sunday, we went to church and then went to Buffalo Gap to catch the flea market. We thought Riley would enjoy looking around at everything at the flea market, but she fell asleep on the way and stayed asleep almost the whole time. Oh well. After we got home, Riley and I decided to go back to the mall to return some things and Josh worked on the yard. Later that day we went to Monty and Kim's for some fajitas...very good fajitas by the way. We watched the season finale of Desperate Housewives!! A Sunday must! Riley was so good. I think she really likes Kim. Riley took a good nap in her arms. Riley has the cutest laugh!! She is laughing more and more. Josh and I agree that her laughter is the best noise in the world!! We have found Riley's tickle spot on her thigh. We can always count on a giggle when we find the tickle spot! Now it is Monday and we are back to the weekly grind.

5 Months Old....

...with a virus. Poor Riley has a virus that causes her to break out in a rash all over her body as the virus tries to go away. If you look closely, Riley has little dots all over her. Overall she is a pretty good sick baby. Riley weighed 16 pounds and 6 ounces when we went to the doctor. She had a little temperature yesterday, and she was a little fussy. So, Riley got to go to Nana and Papa's for today. I think Riley really likes Katie too! Katie is such a good cousin with good baby experience. Riley is really growing!!! Riley has started eating carrots this week. She really doesn't like them. I mixed them with her cereal today, and she liked them better. Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! This will definitely be a blessed Mother's Day for me!

Kendra gave Riley this super cute outfit! Thank you Kendra!!!! Riley loves it! And she got lots of compliments on it today!! What a nice outfit for a 5 month old! We hope Kendra, Keith, and Kory are having fun at Sea World this weekend!
