Memorial Day Weekend

Riley and I had a lot of girl time over the weekend. Josh was busy cutting wheat in Winters most of the time. We did some shopping and more yard work. I have to share with you a few new things that Riley has learned... She loves to wave bye, bye at things and blow them a kiss. Like the train that comes by our house...she knows when the end is coming and she starts waving bye to it. And when we have to leave a store, I usually say "let's go," and Riley starts waving bye. There are lots of instances when she waves bye and blows kisses, but I won't bore you with all of them! Riley has gotten very good at giving actual kisses too. She will put her lips on your check and go "mmmmaaa". I LOVE IT! She will even give kisses over the phone! AND she gives kisses to little boys too. Josh picked her up from daycare one day and the teacher told him that she asked Riley and Dylan to give each other a hug because they were fighting over something, and they gave each other a kiss too!! Remember, Dylan is the boy that has liked Riley from day one. Riley and Jake also gave each other a kiss a couple of weekends ago when we went over there to play. Of course Kim and I asked them to give each other a bye, bye hug and kiss...and they actually did it...on the lips!! Kim was even fast enough to take a picture of them! I will have to post that picture later. It was too cute!! Kim and I were so tickled about it, and that she actually got a picture of it! Way to go Kimberly! Anyoo, enough about the kissing. Josh is not very fond of the kissing business. Riley has also become very interested in throwing things in the trash. After we get done changing her diaper, we tell her to go throw it in the trash. She loves it! I am constantly finding things for her to throw in the trash just to appease her. Speaking of diapers, Riley has started to point at her diaper when she poops in it. I guess she is catching on to what she is doing. One day I asked her to go get a new diaper, and she did! I was so amazed that she knew what I was talking about!!! She understands SO MUCH these days. Since we are still on the subject of diapers, Riley has FINALLY started behaving during her diaper changing. I used to have to hold her shoulders down with my feet, but now I can tell her to lay down and she will!! You have no idea how cool that is!! Actually, before that I was changing her diaper while she stood up. Yeah, I know, crazy...but it worked without going through WW3!! Riley has also learned how to blow on her food. It is so cute. She just started doing it one day when she saw us doing it. Oh yeah, and when I was blowing up her pool, she put her mouth on the blow up hole and tried to blow it up just like I did. I am truly amazed at how much she is soaking in! She has started trying really hard to open and close doors with the knobs. She just needs another inch or two to be able to do it. Well, I could go on forever, so I guess that's enough for now. Here are the pics......

Here is Riley in her ONE PIECE swimsuit playing with her shopping basket. (The swimsuit is just for dad) We tried to get in her little pool, but as soon as her feet touched the cold water, she did not want any part of it!

And here is Riley throwing her diaper in the trash can!

Ahh, the famous Teddy Graham breakfast. :)

Riley thought she was so cool wearing my sunglasses on her head just like I do. I am tellin' ya, she is starting to be such a copy cat!!

Yard Work

I guess I have a lot of time to catch up on. A couple of weeks ago, Nana and Papa took us all to the Western Heritage Classic Ranch Rodeo. Oh my goodness, Riley LOVED it!! It started at 8:00pm, which is almost her bed time! She stayed awake through the whole thing, and she behaved rather well. She got to see lots of horses and cows, which she loves! Oh, and she had lots of M&Ms and popcorn! She stayed awake until we left at 11:00pm!!! Unfortunately, I did not bring my camera to the rodeo, so I don't have any pictures. :( Riley had a fun filled weekend, and didn't wake up on Sunday morning until 10:30!! She has never slept that late before. Too bad I wasn't here to take advantage of that. I was at Kristi's bachelorette party in Dallas. Josh was the lucky one to enjoy Riley sleeping so late. By the way - Big Dog has returned from his 10 day excursion. I just don't understand him. He just has to run off all the time. He won't stay in the fence. I know, I know, we should probably get him fixed if we didn't want him to run off all the time. I am not sure how invested we really want to be in a third dog, but we will feed and water him as long as he is around. Since the weather has gotten nicer, we are able to spend a lot more time outside. We have been doing a little gardening and yard work...

Josh is trying to plant a little garden, and Riley messes it up!

And here she is again, right in the middle of planting some yuccas.

Of course, Riley thinks she can do anything that we do. She is trying to dig a hole just like her daddy did. :)

Riley discovered how fun it can be to water plants...and rocks...and dirt. We definitely have a full time helper for yard work!

Our helper sure is cute too!

Ouchies, Play Time, & Big Dog

We had another fun filled weekend. Riley and I went to Emily Baird's first birthday party in San Angelo. Riley got to see cousin Davis, cousin Truett, Kory, Abby, and Emily. We didn't get to stay long because we had to go to the Duggan's Cinco de Mayo party that evening. Riley had the best time at the party. She swang, went down the slide a hundred times, and chased a cat everywhere! Luckily, one of the junior high girls there followed her around the whole night. We didn't have the camera with us Saturday, so no pictures. :(
By the way - I thought I should posted Riley's latest stats. She went in for immunizations a couple of weeks ago. At 16 months she was 32 inches and 26.6 pounds.
Riley's first busted lip. So sad. She couldn't even use her paci that night. She was chasing Dada around and fell and busted her lip on the tile. Josh said he heard her tooth hit the ground. She woke up feeling much better in the morning.
On Sunday, Riley got to stay at Nana and Papa's for the day. Her cousins, Abbie and JP, were over there too. They had so much fun playing together!! They rode every single riding toy they could find. Riley got to drive a Barbie jeep and John Deere Gator for the first time. They brought Riley back home that night, and when they were leaving Riley was crying because she really wanted them to stay! Here is a picture of Abbie, JP, and Riley playing on our swing set.

Update on Big Dog...he ran off last Thursday night and hasn't come back. We accidentally forgot to put him in the laundry room that night. Oh well, easy come easy go, right. We enjoyed him while he was here. I think our dogs are glad that he's gone because they get more attention now. It hasn't seemed to bother Riley much. Anyhoo, here are some pictures that I took last week before he left. I thought it was hilarious to see him lounging in the whiskey barrel!
