R.I.P. HP

Our beloved Hp Deskjet 832c printer died today. It was almost 10 years old. Said printer has already been replaced with it's trendier new cousin. Too bad USB cables aren't included, or it would be running as of now! Guess we wait until tomorrow.

Short Version vrs Long Version

So the short version on the condo thing is: we wait. The long version goes kinda like this. One of the programs that we are using so that our closing costs are zero ran out. Ran out meaning that the government is no longer funding that program at all. This is an issue we're faced with come October 1st. ALL the programs we're qualified under for zero closing costs will be gone. SO. Because that program poofed, it messed up our paperwork in the lender's office. The seller really wants to sell the place and agreed to front the money from his pocket so we continue to have zero closing costs. In order to do this, an addition to the contract had to be made. Once there was a change, the entire thing had to be reviewed by someone new at the lender's office. So, we wait. It's horribly frustrating, but the fact that the seller put up his own money to keep things moving is encouraging. Keep your fingers crossed!

Good News and Cheesecake

Boy am I tuckered out. Yesterday I was on the road by 7am and didn't get home until 7pm. Two doctor appointments with shopping in between! The first doc was same ol' stuff. The second had great news. I went in for a fetal echocardiogram and all is perfect. The tech that did the ultrasound was the best I've had to date, very nice gal. Kaylee is in the 60'th percentile for size, meaning she's a bit bigger by a few ounces then those of her age, but given that Galen and I are both six foot or taller, it's normal. Admittedly this was a big worry for me, this echo, but I did my best to shove it all aside and told myself that all would be normal. I mean, this kid hasn't even given me morning sickness, how bad off can she be? hehe. Mom and Lynnette were there and got to see it all, which was a lot of fun. This was the first ultrasound that Lynnette had been to of mine, and the one that my mom saw was only when Kaylee was still a peanut. Oh yeah. And the tech confirmed that I still have a baby girl. Still a girl! No returning those pink things cuz of something dangling on the ultrasound. *giggle*

Between appointments we went to Washington Square Mall. Big place, I don't think I've ever been there. Beautiful, I wish we had something like that closer. Of course, there was a restaurant named The Cheesecake Factory and we just had to go for lunch. Yum. Double yum. *drools* I finally found a fleece onesie in both newborn and 3 month size for taking Kaylee home from the hospital in. The infant size goes up to 8 pounds, and since we don't know how big she'll be when she's born, we got two. Tough! I had to get two cute fuzzy things! Mom also found a Winnie the Pooh crib set that's much more adorable then the one at Target. So she got it for me and I'll get it at my baby shower. Thanks mom! Now I just need the crib to put it in. Hint hint.

Mahahaha! One of the comics I always read came up with this one in the storyline. Cracks me up so I had to share:

Here's to You, Grandpa

So much reflection and looking back at were we have been and what shaped us into who we are today. I've taken to reading my baby books in the evening as part of a (hopefully) relaxing routine. With knowledge comes power, but also worries. While I'm so grateful to have my grandma around still, it is surprising how much it hurts that my grandpa isn't. And while he may have been gone for almost six years now, he had a great impact on my life. I can only hope that my children will have the same closeness and loving support as I did.

Here's to you Grandpa, thank you.

Baby Registry

So I woke up at 5am with my hips aching and couldn't go back to sleep. What better thing to do then browse the Target website and add items to a baby registry? Exactly! It's an ongoing project as I research safety ratings for car seats, strollers and the like. You can peek here for the beginnings! Just search for us by name.

23 Weeks!

So the word on the condo was... wait. On Tuesday CJ told us that the bank was waiting on one piece of "oh so important" paper, then they could process. Once they got said paper, it would take 72 hours. So my hope is that tomorrow or next Monday we'll have an answer. The seller was confident that all would go through fine, but then again so was the last one we put a bid in on. We'll see. I just want a home and a baby room!! *sniffle*

She's kicking on the right side finally. I've felt it in conjuncture with left side kicks. Like the new ticker? I thought it was funny, hehe. Kaylee supposedly is about a pound now, and from crown to rump eight inches long. I can believe it with some of the kicks she's pulled off. My belly sure is poking out now, I just wish it would round out instead of making look like an even fatter person!

I dug up the packet that my OB gave me on my first visit, read it finally (the best information I've read over all the books and 'net stuff hands down) and was left with mixed emotions. Who knew there was so much to worry about? I scheduled our "Labor and Birth" class, which will run for 5 weeks starting Sept. 22nd. Galen won't be happy about attending a 2 hour class at 7pm, but hopefully he can get work shifts that don't start until 5am to make up for it. I'm just glad to have them scheduled! He still bends over and talks to my tummy, chastising when I get kicked too much. I can only imagine what it will be like a month or more from now when she starts running out of room to kick.

Thunder!

7:00am on the dot, the loudest thunder of my life went off right on top of us and woke me up. Galen was already up since he's kinda sickish, and agreed with me. Scary loud. Not just vibrate the bed, shake the bed loud. A cannon going off outside the window loud. The war on our doorstep loud. Neither of us saw the lightning before it, but there were two more rumblers after that and then just some rain. I do enjoy the smell of rain after its been gone for so long. But damn. What a way to wake up!

22 Weeks!

Yes my friends, 22 has arrived. I saw my OB today and all is fine. Kaylee is still kickin' like a monster at times, and seems to act up the most around dinner. And whenever I lay down. Susie has been my shadow for quite some time, and it's rather adorable. She follows me around the house everywhere I go, provided she hasn't gotten utterly comfortable and fallen asleep. Tux is a momma's boy and demands attention when I come home from anywhere. I can't go pick up milk without him tripping around my feet meowing. Marvel on the other hand, is going to get a new home. I've had her placed with Second Chance Companions for a few months now, and there's finally foster care available for her. With hopes that we will be moving by the end of the month, she will be leaving this Saturday. Also, our rats are going to Galen's sister by the end of the month as well. We'll miss our pets, but need the money we'll save. Marvel turned out to be the type of cat that I don't want, even if she is adorable. I'm just glad that she will get a new home.

We're still waiting to hear from CJ about the condo. Tomorrow we'll know for sure.

I Found Pooh!

Oh my gosh I'm so excited! I wanted to do the baby's room in Winnie the Pooh but never found any at Van Mall or the Lloyd Center. But what the heck, I decided to search online and guess who has it! Target! There are two crib sets! I'm beside myself with glee this morning, I'm so glad it's out there! I also found a different site, http://www.netkidswear.com/pooh.html, that had all sorts of Pooh stuff. I couldn't resist and ordered the wall stickers and a hoodie bath towel. Hehe!

I suppose the other half of my excitement comes from putting in another offer on a condo (the one we really wanted behind Van Mall won't budge on their price so we have to walk away). It's one of the first ones we looked at, and dismissed because the kitchen was too small. It's perks are a beautiful bathroom, and it's walking distance to the Hazel Dell Fred Meyer for Galen. Well they dropped the price to $100k so we took it. Now we have to wait until Friday the 15th, at the latest, for them to respond. I'm really hoping we'll get it, because the programs we're using (as first time home buyers) run out Oct. 1st and we won't be able to get -anything-. It's an upstairs unit, so no stairs in the house, but has plenty of charm. Galen wants to recarpet the place, but it seems fine to me. We'll see. I agree that there are little things that should be fixed, but nothing major. The fridge is a monster though, waaay too big for that little kitchen, and we might get rid of it for something more suitable.

I FOUND POOH! YAY! *frolics*

ps: The website I found has an even better cribset: http://www.netkidswear.com/britspearbru.html

From Gymnast to Boxer

Last night was the first time I couldn't sleep because I kept getting punched. Weird, I know. I'd lay on one side and she would squirm and kick and throw a fit, so I'd roll over and get the same treatment. The strangest feeling of all was getting kicked straight down. Not against my belly mind you, but straight down as if I was standing. I swear it echoed. I know this is only going to get, uh, worse? Still, it makes me giggle. I've reached the phase now where I will cry for absolutely no reason, as well as cry when Galen is upset. Hyper empathetic I say.

The world is new and frightening now! I've been watching the first season of House, and every episode makes me cry in some fashion. It seems to help, knowing that I can cry and it won't burst out of me like some foreign object at random times. Even better though, the sound of a crying baby instantly puts me in tears. Best part is I start laughing too, because I know how silly it is. So you have this crying/laughing female around you, and I can just about count the days before Galen goes bananas.

I bought two baby books online, one that is all about the changes happening to me, and the other is more technical dealing with wills, finances and the like. I've skimmed through the second a thumb's width in, and it's interesting. At least I'm learning something new.

Fledgling Gymnast

Last night was the first time I've felt anything other then a few bumps. Not just on the left side, but in the middle, it felt like she was doing barrel rolls. Very strange feeling. Very. This continued off and on through the entire movie I was watching. Once I went to bed though, she let me sleep. Thank god. I can only imagine that it'll get worse... err, better? Hehe!
