Growing Boy

Macallister has been such an absolute joy! I do not even think that I can put into words how much I love this little guy.  He is such a happy baby- I have so many smiling pictures cause he is so happy all of the time.  He definitely has his moments, but they are very few.  Mac is growing so much, I had to take him to the doc today ( poor kid has eczema ) and he weighed in at 14 lbs. 14 oz.! The kid is getting bigger everyday.  Every time he is on my lap now he tries to lean forward and sit up on his own.  As of a few days ago he is sleeping in has own room.  The first night Mac did so well he slept the entire night, but Matt and I kept getting up every hour to check on him.  It was harder on us! I can't wait to see what this kid does next- he is growing so fast!
2 1/2 months old and he already sticking his tongue out at me!
I don't even know what to say about this picture- it makes us look like really bad parents.  I assure you he did not drink any of the diet Pepsi and he can not quite use the remote yet.  He just looks so grown up!
His aunt Amber sent him this cute shirt!
He has started to suck on his hand- I do not love this habit.  He refuses a Binky and a bottle of any kind, but sucks on his hand all of the time :(  I could take a Binky away eventually, but I don't think that I can take away his hand ever.
I assure you that this little guy is not picked on in any way!  I still can not get over how cute his hair is!
Just the cutest little guy ever!

2 Month Checkup Nightmare

I have been dreading the 2 month checkup since this little guy was born.  I never wanted to see Macallister in any pain- so the idea of him getting shots would almost bring me to tears.  That is why I made my husband come along so I could cry while he held onto Mac.  His checkup started off really well he is now 22 1/2 inches long (50th percentile) and 13 pounds 12 ounces ( 90th percentile) Needless to say he is a growing boy!  I thought that the chubby thighs would make the shot situation better.  We made it through the shots with lots of tears from Mac and from myself- I think Matt's eyes were a little watery too.  Everything seemed fine so we headed home.  I gave Mac some Tylenol and he took a rally good nap.  He did not wake up from that nap happy at all.  He was screaming and  couldn't console the poor guy.  I finally called the doc and they said to bring him back in to check him out.  I was panicked when they doctor agreed that I needed to bring him in.  In my haste to get Mac back to the doctor, I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle.  I swear my clumsiness has gotten out of control!  I still have no idea how I got Mac to the doctor on that ankle.  I haven't really been able to walk on it since.  But somehow we made it to the doctor.  I had called Matt on my way  there and he was able to meet us .  It turns out that Mac had a local reaction to the shots- nothing serious we just have to alternate giving him Tylenol and Motrin.  By the end of the night he was back to his happy adorable self!  He got really annoyed with us when we woke him up last night to give him his medicine.  The picture above we took later that night when he was feeling better.  He was smiling and cooing and back to normal.  I think that we will survive.

Mac loved the grape Tylenol, but not really the berry Motrin.  This is his reaction to the Motrin :)
This is my ankle- it is better today.  Matt is at home with me today to help his cripple wife!
Poor guy right after he got his shots :(
 Cute chubby thigh!
This is Mac before the fiasco- sleeping so good.  He is so cute!!

How I can tell Mac is really asleep............

Everything Mac does is super adorable, but one of my favorites is how he sleeps.  I can always tell Mac is really sleeping good when his hands are above his head.  It is so funny, especially when I carry him to his crib and his hands are straight up in the air.  It is crazy how much I love this little guy!

Grandma & Grandpa Lyden's Visit

Grandma and Grandpa Lyden came to St. Louis for Macallister's blessing.  It was so fun to have them here for a week.  We played cards, had a Thanksgiving dinner, and ate the best ribs in St. Louis. ( The best ribs according to the Food Networks Food Fueds.  They were pretty good, but Matt's coworker Ron's are better! )   I know that Macallister is missing all of the attention.  Hopefully they will be able to come again soon!

Aunt Jacy was also able to come up for the week!  It was so great to see her!

Blessing Day

Macallister was blessed last Sunday, November 21,2010.  It was such a special day, Matt's family was able to fly out and share this experience with us.  It had been a while since we had seen them, and it was great to have them in our home even for the short amouunt of time that we had.  I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband that honors his priesthood, and was able to bless our son.

Macallister's 1 month check up

Last week Mac had his one month check up.  The doc said that he was healthy and  very strong ( Matt really liked that part!! ) He was 21 inches long, and now weighs 10 pounds 12 ounces.  He has almost gained a pound a week since he was born.  Mac is such a happy baby, and he is already sleeping through the night!!! ( knock on wood ) We are very lucky parents.

St. Louis Cardinals Game

Matt was able to get us some Cardinals tickets from work, and we had a really good time at the game. I hadn't been to a MLB game since I was in Jr. high. It was fun aside from the scorching heat and the humidity. My feet and hands were so swollen by the time we were done. My feet were puffing out over my shoes- they looked like a baked loaf of bread. It was all worth it though!
We were able to see a home run, and we munched on hot dogs and fries. Ther are a ton of new posts below- I was really behind on my blogging!
