Christmas 2011

I had all these high expectations this year to make Christmas perfect for Macallister.  My house would be clean, I would have a turkey in the oven and all the presents would be wrapped and under the tree.  Ha ha. It didn't really happen that way, but we still had a wonderful Christmas this year.  Mac didn't even notice that the dishes weren't done and the floor wasn't vacuumed.  In fact I don't really think that he noticed that Christmas came at all.  He had absolutely no interest in opening the presents.  Matt and I had to unwrap them for him when we got back from church.  It was so nice just to spend some quality time as a family.  Matt was able to take a few days off from work and it was nice to have him around more.

You can tell by this picture how excited Mac was for Christmas :)
He was mildly interested in the truck until he turned it on and it scared the crap out of the poor little guy.  That toy may have to wait until he is a little older.  Notice how only the top of the tree is decorated.  That would be to prevent Mac from crushing all the ornament and putting the lights in his mouth :)
 Macallister loved the candy!
Just walking by all the presents- he really didn't care!
All we needed to get Mac for Christmas was candy and the TV remote.
Uncle Luke and Aunt Amber sent him this car which he absolutely loved!!

All ready for church.  Handsome little fella!
I wish that I was one of those girls that was cute pregnant.  Sadly I am not, I just get huge.  We decided to take a family picture anyways.
Matt hates that I make him match :)
Matt's favorite part of Christmas was teaching Mac to play basketball.  He has been waiting for this since before Macallister was born!

Grandpa's Visit

My dad was able to come out this last week and visit.  We hadn't seen him for a couple of years so we were excited for him to come out.  Mac warmed up to him quick.  We were a little nervous how Mac would act because he usually has some serious stranger danger, but it didn't take them long to be friends. We went down town and saw the arch, Matt and I had never been down there even though we have lived here for a year and a half.  I had no idea how tall it was up close.  We had such a good time with my dad, we did lots of cooking, eating, shopping and movie watching.  I wish that my back would have felt better so we could have done more, but we still had a great time.  Thanks Dad for visiting!!

New Tricicle

Christmas came a little early at our house.  I couldn't wait for Mac to use his new tricycle on Tuesday skating day, so I went ahead and had Matt put it together so that he could use it.  The YMCA here has a tot skate on Tuesdays and Wednesdays where kids can come and ride their bikes or skate around the skating rink.  It was so fun to see Mac on his big kid bike and push it all around.  He would only pedal backward- it was so funny.  He just went backward in circles the entire time. He seemed to be having a great time though.  I can not believe how big he has gotten. He looks so grown up on his bike, it is kinda sad because I want him to be little forever.

Thanksgiving

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  We spent it with Matt's bosses family, and it was a lot of fun to get to know them better.  The food was amazing.  They served a bacon wrapped dove appetizer that was so delicious.  Their kids were so nice to Mac and loved to play with him.  I wish that I would have remembered to take pictures there because it was so cute to see Mac playing with all of the other kids.
All dressed up to go to dinner.  Notice that Mac dosen't have any shoes on.  I have resorted to putting them on right before I take him out of the car seat.  If not I end up putting them on like 40 times because he hates to have things on his feet.  Silly little boy :)

Matt's Anniversary Mistake

About a week before our anniversary Matt came home and asked me if I wanted to go to Indianapolis for our anniversary.  I thought it would be a fun and happily agreed, later to find out that Matt had forgotten about our anniversary and scheduled a speaking engagement that day at the university in Indianapolis ( I forget which one) to tell about his experience with CHS.  Lucky for Matt, I am very understanding and forgave him.  Besides it meant a free trip to Indianapolis where I had never been before.  Not to bad :) .  So Mac and I tagged along for the ride.  We had a really nice time.  We had a very nice dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse which normally we could never afford, but since we only had to cover half the bill we splurged!  It was so delicious.  I could go on all day about that food.  Mac behaved pretty well at the fancy restaurant, if it wasn't for the table cloth he would have been perfect.  He just couldn't resist playing peek a boo under the tablecloth and lifting it over his head.  It was the perfect way to spend our 5 year anniversary.  I can't believe that it has been 5 years already.  I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who is also my best friend.  You would think that we would have pictures of us since it was our anniversary, but since I am fat and pregnant I decided to skip out on these and just post pictures of Mac.  He is a lot better to look at.
Mac all bundled up in the stroller.  Our hotel was down town so we were able to walk to all of the stores and restaurants.

Playing in the hotel.  Did I mention that we were in Indy the same time as the National Catholic Youth Conference.  There were 750 teenagers at our hotel alone.  At least we didn't have to feel bad about Mac being loud that night at the hotel.  He was better behaved than the youth there :)
Mac looking at the room service menu....
Mac trying to order some of the room service
For some reason Mac loved hiding his binki under the bed and then trying to find it.  So funny.
Poor Mac was exhausted the next day from all of the fun.

Oh, see!!!

Our morning ritual, breakfast and looking at the trucks out the back window.  Mac gets so excited when the really big trucks go by.  He tries to stand up in his high chair and yells "Oh see!!" .  It makes me smile everyday.

So cute

I put Mac in his bouncy chair the other day, turned on Conan and was all set to get some time on the treadmill.  Mac loves Conan for some reason, and I will take whatever time I can get to exercise.  I hadn't walked more than 15 minutes before Mac was asleep.  So cute!

I am so lucky to be this little guys mother.

Happy Halloween 2011

The holidays are so much more fun with a little one around.  We had such a fun and relaxing Halloween. We started with the ward Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday night and then passed out candy on Halloween night.  Mac really liked opening the door and helping to give the candy out, but I think his favorite part was eating the candy.  He would just grin from ear to ear.  I think that we have enough candy to last us until next Halloween.  Mac was a dragon for Halloween and I was surprised how well he kept the costume on.  I thought for sure he would try and rip it off all night.

 ROAR!!
Isn't he just the cutest dragon you have ever seen?

Mac thinks that his daddy is pretty funny!
 I love his tail :)
I really thought that Mac would enjoy helping us carve the pumpkins, but as you will see from the pictures he didn't care for it to much.

Our beautiful pumpkins.  I couldn't remember the last time that I had carved a pumpkin.  It was fun!
Halloween night.  Mac was too distracted by everything around him to take a good picture, but we did our best!

Playing with dad waiting for the trick-or-treaters.

I got a little carried away with the costumes this year.  Mac was also a devil, army guy, a firefighter and pirate ( I don't have a pic of the last 2 ).  I love the Old Navy PJs, they are so funny!
