Summer Vacation Part 2

During our visit home we were able to make it to Montana to visit Matt's family as well.  It was so nice to be at the Lake this year especially since we missed last year.  The weather did not cooperate with us and it was rainy and cold for a good portion of the week.  Which was really just fine with me because I was not really that thrilled about being in a swimsuit anyways!  It was nice to be in the cabins and visit with family.  It took Mac a while to warm up to everyone, but he eventually would let people hold him without crying.  Little stinker!!  Hopefully we will be able to make it back to Montana next year.  The week always goes by so fast!

Emerson was so very helpful when Mac's bottle time came around :)
Caleb and Colby- such handsome little guys!

Matt always enjoys golfing during the week.  It is usually the only time he gets out during the year.

It was Matt's aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary while were at the Lake.  Matt and his siblings did a synchronized swimming routine at their party at the end of the week.  I will post the video soon- it was really quite creative.  Thanks Amy, you are so talented!

Summer Vacation Part 1

At the end of July, we were able to go home for a few days and visit family.  It is a whole other experience making this trip with a baby.  Mac traveled really well for the most part.  We did have an interesting plane ride to Salt Lake.  Mac had a diaper explosion about an hour into our flight, and it just happened to be in the middle of turbulence and they were not letting anyone up out of there seats.  All the diapers I packed were in my carry on in the shelves about 2 rows back, so we were unable to change Mac's diaper for about an hour!  We just had to sit there- poor Mac.  To try and comfort him I gave him another bottle, but all that did was make him vomit all over Matt.  So by the end of our first flight we were covered in poop and throw up!!  Only Matt and I!  The good news is that he didn't cry much on any of the flights.  We had such a nice time when we finally made it to Pocatello.  It was so nice to be able to hang out with family and friends.  It never seems like we have enough time to get in everything that we would like to in those few days that we have.  We did make a trip to Island Park with my mom and siblings families.  We stayed at the Mack's Inn and it was so much fun.  Then we headed into West Yellowstone.  It had been so long since I had been it was fun to see everything again.   As always our time was so short, but we enjoyed every minute of it!

I watched the two youngest boys in Island Park while everyone else floated the river.  Apparently it was an interesting ride and I am glad that I didn't go.  Everyone came in one by one shivering from the cold water!  Mac and Declan were fun to watch together.  I am glad that we were able to be there and let Mac meet all of his cousins.
Waiting for everyone to come back from tubing.
Poor Declan, he sat in this chair and called for his mom, dad, grandma and sisters almost the entire time they were gone.  Cute and sad at the same time!
 Matt, Ari and Joey
My Grandma Irene and Mac.  I am kicking myself now for not taking pictures of all of us together.  I was so tired that I was not thinking clearly.
 All my Mother's grandchildren.
 Joey and Ari- so beautiful!
My brother tried so hard to have Macallister like him.  I think that he was successful in the end!

9 Months

Mac has been 9 months for a while now, but I am just now getting around to posting.  This time I have some pretty good excuses.  We have been on vacation, had double ear infections and Matt spent a few days in the hospital.  Everything is finally getting back to normal now...... hopefully.  Mac is getting to be so independent.  I am pretty sure that I am just getting in his way most of the time.   He wants to feed himself, crawl to everything and figure everything out himself.  It is quite entertaining for us to watch because Mac is not the most graceful child!!  We have had a few bumps and bruises along the way but that is only to be expected.  He is pulling himself up on everything and has become quite the explorer.  I don't think that I have been able to enjoy a meal for the last month.  Mac is all up in my business wanting to try all of my food.  He gets pretty mad if I give myself a bite in-between his bites.  We are learning that Mac has a little bit of a temper if the food does not reach his mouth fast enough!  Mac had his 9 month check up and he weighs 21 lbs. 6 oz.  (50%) and he is 27 inches long (15%) He has really slimmed down now that he is a mover and a shaker!  It has been kinda nice, for the longest time we were buying him new clothes every week cause he was getting so big so fast.

Mac is growing up so fast!!!

Getting ready to leave on vacation.
Mac is at the stage where everything goes in his mouth.
Mac is such a wild sleeper.  This has become one of our favorite sources of entertainment at night- going into Mac's room and seeing how he fell asleep.  We usually have to move him because it looks so uncomfortable.  It also changes like 50 times a night.  Love it!
