And just like that ...
She's in a big bed!
I'll save the before and after pictures of the room for when we are finished. We have spent the last two days moving and moving and moving furniture. Basically this move caused three rooms to be changed and frankly it has been tiring. But, the first night when it was bedtime she went straight to the top bunk and has not looked back. Scary, really.
And to top it off, this morning we woke up to our first snow. Maggie and Ryan made a snowman and she was really proud!
Did I mention she got this really cool cardboard castle for Christmas? It has been a HUGE hit.

You can color it and everything ... so cool!

Merry Christmas!
We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas day. We started off the morning celebrating at home (a first for Ryan and I ever!) ...

Then Ryan's sister and parents came over for presents and brunch ...

Then we headed to Mooresville to celebrate with Ryan's extended family ...

Each year every one gets a designated wrapping paper. Ryan got Jeff Gordon this year ...
Maggie went and went all day long. This was when we got in the car ...
And this was approximately five seconds later ...
But she got her second wind when we got home and she got to play with all the gifts again ... including her new IU cheerleader outfit!!

And a huge shout out to my husband whose love language is gifts ... yes, I held true to our no gifts for each other policy while he bought me a new coffee maker!!
Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Maggie and Merry Christmas Eve!
Hard to believe that three years ago was this ...
Happy Birthday Maggie!
Onto Christmas Eve ... We started the morning with brunch at our neighbors' house. We are so blessed to live by such great, fun people!

Then it was off to spend Christmas Eve with the Lambert side of the family. The taco bar was non traditional, but an excellent addition!

Maggie got to listen to the player piano ...
Watch a cuckoo clock ...
And she got a new princess game for her birthday which was a huge hit!

Side note ... I told Ryan he better never get me this sign for my kitchen ... I don't like what it insinuates!
Merry Christmas!

Fun Week ...
This week has been quite busy for us. Almost every day we have had friends over to play. It has been pretty fun!

And bath time has been all about bubbles since we got princess bubble bath!
Finally, I had to include this picture of one of our Christmas cards. These lovely ladies are my Great Aunts. They have both been widowed for many years and as long as I can remember they have lived together in Normal, Illinois. For that reason, they call themselves our "Normal" aunts! Aunt Alta (the one on the left) turned 100 this year! Absolutely amazing! And I just think it is adorable that they got a picture taken for their card this year.
As many of you do, we have a few family, fun-packed days ahead and are looking forwarding to celebrating the true reason for Christmas this weekend. I hope you all have wonderful times with friends and family!

Reliving My Childhood ...
The past couple days I've felt like I was 10 again.
We took Maggie to see Christmas lights on Sunday night. Boy did this bring back the memories! My Mom LOVES holidays and I am starting to think that it has trickled down to me. She would take us to the Parade of Lights in East Peoria every year. We'd freeze our bottoms off, but have a lot of fun watching all of the lighted floats go by. Then we would head to Grandview Drive (I think that is the name of it) to look at the lights of the city and drive through their lighted display. I can still remember looking up the hill before we'd go up and see a lighted ferris wheel way up high!
Since there isn't a lighted parade here (that I'm aware of), we took Maggie to the Reynolds light display in Fishers. They are a local farm equipment company that puts on a pretty decent light display in December for FREE!

Then we went to a house that has set their Christmas lights to music and you tune into the station and listen as the lights dance along with the rhythm.
It was a pretty magical night and reminded me so much of those times we literally drug my Dad around to go look at lights. I miss those days.
The other reason I feel like I'm 10 ... I had pink eye. So here I've been taking drops and waking up all gooey in my eye. Yuck. Oh, and the fact that I've had a sore throat for a week and actually found myself gargling salt water like my Mom told me to do when I was little. :)
Here's to more lights and less sickness!

Princess Party!
We celebrated Maggie's birthday yesterday. With having a Christmas Eve birthday celebrating a week early seems to help spread out the gifts a bit!
For months Maggie has been talking about a princess party and it did not disappoint. We had a princess decorated with frosting ...
A prince ...
Cupcakes ...
Presents ...
Princess Barbies ...
And you can't forget the princess recliner!
Here are a few fun photos from the party ... including me with my prince! :)

How is she three already!? Time flies! We are so blessed by Maggie each and every day and can't imagine life without her.
