Fish Derby

I am so proud of Lulu and Miles! They each caught their first fish tonight! We had a very successful fishing Derby. Dad caught 6 or 7 probably. I only reeled in a few, but I was very busy being a fishing pedagogue. Plus none of my fishing students like to take the fish off the hook, so I kept quite busy. (Miles gets that from his Dad)

Bolder Boulder

I blog today from Colorado. I just ran the Bolder Boulder 10k
race in Boulder. Anne and her friend, Sasha ran it, too. We had
a great time and Barb and John were great cheerleaders. Emory
told me to run fast and win the race. She thinks I am going to bring
home a trophy. Well, I didn't win the race and all I am bringing home
are some new blisters. I hope they are as happy to see me as I am
to see them!

Soccer Star

OK, I take back my earlier post. As it turns out, Emory was just observing the first game at soccer. I think she was taking it all in and learning the rules. Two weeks ago, she scored 3 goals!! And this past week, she scored 2 goals, and she kept trying to take the ball away from even her own teammates. She was everywhere the ball was, much more assertive. I guess I don't have to sign her up for karate lessons yet. (That is why my mom signed me up for Karate. I think she was tired of seeing my sisters pick on me.)

Bug teeth Miles

Miles is getting SO CHATTY lately! I am used to Emory making my ears ring, but now I have 2 chatty kids! He still loves the Cars movie, and loves to reenact scenes from the movie. He loves to be Lightning and he makes me Chick Hicks and we crash. Tonight he borrowed a scene from the movie and said, "I was running around and got bugs in my teeth". (If you haven't seen the movie, Lightning McQueen gets bugs in his teeth while on a drive.)
