Violence in KC

Unfortunately, this photo doesn’t tell the story of what is happening tonight in KC. Protesters have turned violent and Matt is on the front lines. I feel so helpless. God, heal our people.

We grow our own food now

Miles had a zoom piano recital today and played “Its good to be alive”. He did great!
Also, we grow our own food now. Fresh cilantro from the garden!!

Home again, home again!

We made it home from Texas today in time to pick up Quincy, watch Lauren’s virtual graduation, and I got a sunset walk on the lake. It’s good to be home!

Ashlan Moves In

Ashlan moved  in yesterday. Clif and I made a delish fajita dinner on the griddle for just the two of us. (Ashlan and the kids were gone) then we went to Ruth’s to celebrate her 60th and then home to pack for Texas. And also, the dogs appear to be the same size now!

Dinner in downtown LS

Emory is at the Lake and Miles got a sleepover offer. So Clif and I got Chipotle and went to  Downtown LS for a date at the train station.

And another walk/run on Raintree Lake.

Another walk

This time it was with Carrie at the plaza. Blue was worn out afterwards. I’m getting 15,000-16,000 steps a day!

Last Day of school at Love Coffee

Traditions remain! This time we didn’t have to rush off to school!

School pick-up

Going to pick up Miles‘s school belongings was more emotional than I would’ve thought. I love seeing the projects he’s been working on with his hands. I’m sad he never got to finish them. I was sad that this is the last time we will have anyone at Summit Lakes middle school. I think he is OK with being finished with middle school, but I’m not ready for him to grow up and go to high school!

Packing up

We are shutting this school year down one school at a time. Being at school was so weird after 2 months away. Not a thing had been touched. It was eerie. I was reminded about what a hard year of teaching this had been. But I was finally having more good days than bad right before it was all called off. I’m ready to say goodbye to 2019-2020.

Music awards

Music awards in the basement tonight! We also got to celebrate this girl as in the past week she was named drum major and also selected to Una Voce for 2020-2021! We are so proud of her!

Chris’ birthday

We got together to celebrate Chris’ birthday with old friends tonight... it was so good to be around people. But weird. No hugs, no food, no bathrooms. I guess I’ll get used to it!

Teacher of the Year

Well, I wasn’t chosen as Teacher of the year, but my good friend, Matt was. He deserves this award way more than me. I am so happy for him!!
