Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter V

V is for Vegetative State.
I find this term quite amusing. How did it ever come to be that a doctor would compare some one's failed brain with a vegetable? Do vegetables have brains? NO! Unless you are talking about those singing/acting ones in the Veggie Tales. Gag, don't even get me started on them, first off, one of the veggies is a tomato. How many times does it have to be said that tomatoes are a fruit?
Anyway, back to the doctor.
A short play by Melissa Masitis
Dr.: "Um, nurse, the patient is non responsive."
Nurse: "Yeah, it's like he is staring straight through me."
Dr.: "That reminds me of joke, What has 20 eyes but no brain?"
Nurse: "I don't know!"
Dr.: "A potato!"
Nurse: (giggling) "Good one Dr."
Chief Surgeon: (just walking in) "What seems to be the matter with this patient?"
Dr.: "His brain is not functioning, one could say he is in a vegetative state."
(nurse giggles some more)
Chief Surgeon: "Vegetative State! I like that! You mind if I use it, I have an important press conference after lunch."
Dr.: "Sure, sure"
(Chief Surgeon exits)
Nurse: "Dr. he is going to get laughed at and maybe even lose his medical license for such a crazy statement!"
(evil laughter from both)
Curtain Closes

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter U

U is for You...in text language.
Let's talk about U!
Why doesn't "U" just mean "You", "I" just means "I" as in Me, Myself, and I. If "I" can be alone, than "U" can be alone too.
Really, this is all I have in me today.
I just wanted to bump the cookies down.
I really miss those cookies, and looking at them is a constant reminder that they are gone.
It also reminds me that I ate the most of them.
And that reminds me that I ought to work out.
And then I remember that I need to do some laundry today (can't explain that one).
And it makes me want to make some cookies.
But I can't.
Because my kitchen is a MESS.
And I can't bake when my kitchen is a MESS.
I think that goes without saying.
Sorry for the ranting.
And short sentences.
I am
really
just
pushing
the
cookies
down
down
down
down
so that I don't have to do any of
that stuff I was just
writing
about.
Out of sight,
Out of mind.
The
End.

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter T

T is for Tolman's Tasty Treats!
The above picture says it all. You may well remember my cookie contest, and how I would announce the winner on September 26th because I would be done with the alphabet by then...HA! I had to slow down and save the T for Today to honor Tolman. Her cookies were divine! She brought me not one but Two kinds of cookies. Chocolate chip and oatmeal! Even if she hadn't been the only entry in my contest, she would have won (see how I made you all feel bad there for not making me cookies but at the same time making it seem like I was happy about it?)
See my coloring picture in the background? T is also for Talent!
And here is Tolman, Bekki Tolman. Or should I say Bekki Toll House? (Bekki's the one on the left, I don't know who the little one is, but she's cute, I wonder if she makes cookies.)
Your prize for winning the contest is.....................a Ten dollar Target gifTcard!
Thank you for the cookies!

It was so tiny.
Like watching a movie on an ipod.
I was all, "Oh, tiny Michael, what crazy shenanigans are you going to pull next!?"

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter P

P is for Pajama Pants.
I have made these 4 pairs thus far.
Here are my handsome/silly models:

By the way, why are they called pants? I mean why the plural, "pair of pants"?
It is only one article of clothing. Do you suppose pants used to come in two separate parts?
I have 2 arms, why not call a sweater a "pair of sweaters"?

Tuesday

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter O

O is for Oh Henry!
This is a candy bar that I had never eaten in my life. That is until my Mom brought some to the hospital after I delivered Henry. Ha ha, good one!
They are actually pretty tasty.
Oh, Henry! is also something I frequently declare during the day.
For example, when I see that he has done something like this:
Today, he got gum in is hair.
It came out really easily with some peanut butter, and the gum came out too.

Monday

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter N

N is for Neapolitan ice cream.
It's my favorite.
I don't exactly understand how it can be called a flavor of ice cream though. It is in fact 3 flavors in one package. Strange that I love it so...I wouldn't go to an ice cream shop and order strawberry or vanilla or chocolate all by themselves. It is only when they are combined in my bowl that I truly appreciate each flavor.
Sometimes, I combine the chocolate and strawberry together on my spoon.
Other times it's vanilla and chocolate that get combined.
Yet still, there is something to be said for the understated vanilla/strawberry marriage.
One time I got a big old frozen strawberry in my ice cream.
I didn't let it bother me much.
After all, I was sitting there eating ice cream, not getting my appendix removed.
The things we find complain about!

Sunday

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter M

Seriously, all I want to do is create things. It is all consuming!

Wednesday

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter B

B is for Birdies.
Ever since we painted Mackenzie's room the most daring paint color I have ever used, I have been trying to make it less shocking.
My awesome Dad installed bead board.
I plan to put crown moulding up in some future time.
To cover a little bit more, I painted 3 birdie pictures for her.
I had started painting them months ago.
Last week, I finally felt like finishing them.

Tuesday

Alphabet Blogging: brought to you by the letter A

Megan said she hoped her use of the alphabet would catch on, so here I am being a follower.
I start with A.
A is for Alphabet.
Our alphabet is neat. Our use of the letters is not.
Here are 2 letters I would just do away with:
C - it makes the K sound and the S sound and really we could have another make the CH sound.
X - we don't need X, it sounds like KS (again with the lazy K and S, why don't we make them work more?)
What about G?
G - G like Girl, and G like Giraffe, how do you think that makes J feel?
And Y?
"Hi, I'm Y and sometimes I am going to be a vowel and make ie collect unemployment."
How about ea?
We have words like EAt and mEAt and sEAt and rEAd
Then we have: grEAt and thrEAt and thrEAd and hEAd and rEAd
And instEAd of using UR we have lEArn and EArn and hEArd
Our use of the alphabet is so messed up, that children have to be taught rules for spelling.
i before e except after c and when it says aye like neighbor and weigh and never on Tuesday and every odd year, also lots of letters are silent and the reason is not clear.
I could keep going, but I would rather not.
