Today we decided to go to the 3 County Fair, because today was the last day, and also it was Bunny Exhibition Day. And Jen likes bunnies. Sadly, there were about half as many bunnies as there were last year. Also the fair has cancelled their hundred-year tradition of horse racing and instead had a truck pull. Yes. A truck pull. It was really stupid, and appeared to be attracting far fewer people than the horse racing has the past couple years, so maybe they'll put it back.
But the best thing was the llama show, which I guess was new as well. They had a llama agility course, with barrels to jump over, uneven logs to walk on, hay bales to have the llama back up between, a seesaw, a pool to wade across, a tunnel, and a stick to walk sideways across. What makes the llama course entertaining, however, is not which llama gets through it the fastest -- it's which llama is willing to do the course at all. Because llamas, it seems, really do not enjoy obstacle courses.
We divided the llamas into "If you insist," "I would prefer not to," and "You can't make me." There were probably about 20 llamas, and maybe three of them made it through without balking at anything. It was hilarious. Most of them went around the barrels instead of jumping. One of the llamas even got down on its knees because it *really* did not want to be led onto the seesaw. (It got to leave the course after that; it seemed pleased with itself.) I think the best llama was the one that eventually got led into the wading pool and decided it didn't want to walk out. Even the judge was laughing at it.
So that was pretty great. Clearly llama agility trials have a way to go yet.
Yeah, the "go to Shi'ar space" issues (1, 2, 5, 7), while Brisson was doing the ones with story on Earth with the Beak family. Although I think they co-wrote #1. They've got a "New Mutants by…
I think Hickman's not going to be writing any more New Mutants, that it was just him doing that one story in the first arc... That's what I've seen said anyway. Not 100% if that's correct.
