I got a 73%. Which is okay, as it was never one of my biggest fandoms -- I mostly just watched the first four seasons on DVD, read Ghosts, made a M/K vid, and got out. I have seen random later episodes, and the quiz dredged up some really horrible memories of canon. (Like, okay, never ever ever watching "Home" again. No no no no no.)
Apparently everyone is much dorkier than I am, because my 73% is better than only 30% of the test takers. Bah.
So, basically, I'm a tree-hugging hippie who cares deeply about same-sex marriage. Are you surprised?
antigone921 came over this evening, and much fun was had. We went to the Taco Bell on the beach, and then mostly she pimped me some Dr. Who. (I tried to suggest other SF fandoms such as B5 and BSG, but I think I was unsuccessful at pimpage.) Anyway. It was fun. We watched some vids and interviews and stuff. I appreciate a good fannish squee. And, yes, I think I ought to catch up on Dr. Who.
I am ridiculously excited about watching The Daily Show/Colbert Report in half an hour. I suppose I am satire-starved. I wonder how it is without writers. Maybe they'll just tell me about the strike. They could just read me the phone book and I'd probably be happy.
Sadly, I think I have finally caught the cold going around my family. I've got zinc drops and plenty of fluids, though, so I ought to be able to get better before I go back. I hope. Bleargrgrgrgh hack spit.
Why, yes, I am from California, thank you. lysimache likes to mock my lack of vowel contrasts. No, I have no open o phonemically, but I have it before r as in "horrible." And I don't contrast merry/Mary/marry, but I can identify them, at least. It's not a very exhaustive quiz, though. Something like this would have worked better, but admittedly it's a little long.

I got 13/25 on this language quiz. Not the best score ever, but over twice as many as the average. It's a tough one.
(And, hey, doesn't Arabic assert that it's the only language with one of its emphatics? I forget which one, maybe DHaa or Daad. I remember the textbook calling it "the language of" whatever consonant it was. Guess they're wrong. Yeah, there goes my memory.)
I like dinosaurs. I've never heard of my dinosaur, but lysimache says it sounds like me. She is a maiasaur, and this pleases me, for she would be a good maiasaur. Aww.
I kind of know who the Public Crush is. Hi, lysimache. :)
I don't know about the other two of you, but I'm sure not paying $4 to find out.
I should point out that I had neither heard of nor taken the original version of this meme whence comes their data, so if you're wondering who your numbers were, it's not me. Mostly that just means that someone who has no Public Crushes listed ought to have one. And anyone who has read my journal for five minutes can maybe figure out who that would be, yeah?
Life With sineala (SHOWTIME, 2:30): sineala (Billy Bob Thornton)'s office's air conditioning is broken, and laurashapiro (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) shows up to fix it. Also, jpinnes (Sela Ward) borrows money from lysimache (Anna Chlumsky)'s hairdresser. Meanwhile, elance (Brad Renfro) sets alasen (Alan Rickman)'s photo album on fire. Then, bnh (Gilbert Gottfried) and tenebrio (Kate Beckinsale) buy a restaurant. Upstairs, cesperanza (Sally Field) hits a soup with owlrigh (Shawn Wayans)'s VCR. Zany antics ensue.
Is it sad that I redid this, like, 12 times to get one with lysimache in it? I thought so. Especially since she dumped two cloves of garlic in my pasta and mocked me when I said my mouth was burning? So what if I have a hard time tasting small amounts of garlic? Hmph. I still [heart] her anyway. Mmm, girlfriend.
No cheating, either. The last time I did one of these, and it was a completely different test, I was also RayK. The hell? I am nothing like RayK.
*goes back, peers at answers* Okay, I think maybe "my friends are insane" could have gotten me the RayK result, but still, I am very not-RayK-ish. Really. I don't get it.
And I am so *not* them. I am not morally ambiguous. I do not think my answers were particularly Krycek/Snapeish. Not that I wouldn't mind reading any of that. It's just not me.
I seem to have this thing lately where I get quiz results totally unlike what I would have predicted -- Dave of Moxy Fruvous, Ray Kowalski of Due South. I am really supposed to be Murray and Fraser.
Also, um, eeeee, new Resonant story. I have been wanting good new F/K. I can't read it until everyone goes to sleep, though.

Yeah, the "go to Shi'ar space" issues (1, 2, 5, 7), while Brisson was doing the ones with story on Earth with the Beak family. Although I think they co-wrote #1. They've got a "New Mutants by…
I think Hickman's not going to be writing any more New Mutants, that it was just him doing that one story in the first arc... That's what I've seen said anyway. Not 100% if that's correct.
