Thailand welcomed a total of 619,481 foreign tourists during the week of 6–12 April 2026, marking an 8.76% increase from the previous week, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports Natriya Thaweewong said the rise was driven by strong arrivals during the Songkran holiday period, particularly from short-haul markets, which reached around 400,000 visitors, up 18.32% week-on-week.
China remained the largest source market with 106,504 arrivals, the highest in five weeks, followed by Malaysia with 90,524 visitors and India with 53,308. Russia and the United States rounded out the top five with 36,701 and 24,693 arrivals respectively.
Malaysian, Chinese, US, and Indian arrivals increased by 61.68%, 25.39%, 19.26%, and 16.93% respectively, while Russian arrivals fell 11.57% from the previous week.
The ministry said the weekly average stood at 88,498 foreign tourists per day.
As of 13 April, Thailand recorded a cumulative total of 10,363,660 foreign arrivals since 1 January, generating approximately 506.12 billion baht in tourism revenue.
