Nathan's Bigger Day!

There aren't enough words in the English language to describe how much I love this little man. He's been through a small whirlwind that last few months as we have moved and re-arranged our lives. Particularly when it comes to school. We originally had him going just across the street for pre-school, but I decided he needed something more. So...I enrolled him in the local public kindergarten. It's been a little adjustment, but I think he's getting the hang of things. When I went into the school to enroll him the secretary looked at me and said, "well...our kindergarten is really full!" I wasn't quite sure what she wanted me to say.

First day of school....take two!

This is Nathan outside his school. He is officially a "Mustang". He has made another best friend, sold bombs at recess, and been called a jerk. I've had a hard time letting him be in public school, since I am such a fan of private school. Next year he will attend Kindergarten at American Heritage.

After just 1 week we had his parent teacher conference. He has mastered everything except something called 1 to 1...which I'm still confused about. When I asked him to count something for me and point to the objects while he counted he asked me why he couldn't just do it in his head! I told him I didn't know...but that's the way his teacher wanted him to do it! He also has trouble staying quiet while on "the rug"...and completing tasks in a timely manner! He is a little social butterfly...and I'm sure he keeps the other kids entertained!

I'm sad to see him grow up. I'm sad he's no longer a toddler. I'm sad his innocence is slipping away. However, I'm equally excited for him to experience the world and explore his inner spirit. He is such a spunky, fun-loving kid. Here's to a great "1st year of Kindergarten!"

Temple Square or Bust?

I was super excited to take the kids to see the conference center. (thanks for the idea Emily) We had never been up there as a family...except in freezing temperatures to see the lights. I wanted to give the boys a reference point for when they sit and watch conference for 5 minutes. And of course I forgot my camera!

Mrs. Brian

My baby sister got married. This is the girl who told us all just last year that she was going to be a trophy wife. Well..she found him...and we are more than happy to call him "uncle" and "brother!"
The festivities were perfect....right down to the purple suspenders and purple vans.

My sibs and I just LOVE posing together for pictures. These were taken the night before the wedding. They had a honky tonk'n reception in Wayne county. They have this silly tradition in the grooms family where all the men chase him down and throw him in the canal!

We were all feeling a little crazy that night!

L to R: Tyler & Megan, Logan, Adam, Me, Nathan, Dad T, Kallie, Jayden, Mom T, Brayden, Kenzie, Jaron, Tamara, Karlee, Kendrick, & Lyndee Lou

My boys have lasted two "waiting room" sessions in one year...pretty impressive!

The Happy Couple....Mr. and Mrs. Jayden Brian

We will definitely have to hire a Nanny when Aunt Kenzie gets married!...there won't be anyone left to watch all these cuties while we are in the Temple.

Sistas!

Nathan's Big Day

Today was Nathan's first day of pre-school. Well..first day of his 2nd year of pre-school. I made the executive decision to keep him back from Kindergarten this year. His birthday is the end of July. And despite what you might think...my decision has nothing to do with high school football, basketbal...or any other sport!

I've never seen anyone this excited to start school. He was all grins as we zipped up his backpack and walked across the street to Stepping Stones Pre-school. Yep..it's right across the street. It is a really busy street, so I made Nathan promise to never try and cross it without an adult. He promised me he would remember.

He had a ball today. He got to wear a name tag, and paint a self-portrait. He was thrilled. He loves all his new friends, but can't remember any of their names. He remembers his teachers introducting themselves, but can't remember their names either. He has 3 teachers. One for Academics, Art, and Theater.

So far, so good!

Love At Home

In case you don't remember what it was like the last time you moved....let me remind you!

We also happened to be installing cabinets this particular day. I only had half a kitchen for 2 weeks...it was great!

The boys LOVE their new bunk bed and sharing a room means more brotherly bonding!

We LOVE a good FHE....especially when it involved going to the dollar movie...in our pj's!!

2nd Grade

Logan was thrilled to finally start 2nd Grade. He was also thrilled to be in Mrs. Gorrells class. When we pulled up to the school I had planned on parking the car and walking him in. He said "don't worry mom...I'll be fine!" He is super excited that we only live a few blocks away from the school now and he can get there "way" early!

When I picked him up and asked him how his day was he said "Just Awesome!" He then told me how he sits by Adrianne (she was in his class last year and is a foot taller than him), and how she lives in Pleasant Grove too, and can we invite her over to play night games? He told me that Spencer Brown lives in Cedar Hills, and where is Cedar Hills? He them told me we need to get a copy of his class schedule so he can keep track. He told me that on Wednesdays he goes straight from lunch recess to art, P.E., and Music. It's so fun to see him love school so much!

Moving Day

I thought I would get emotional the day we moved. I thought I would sit down and cry. All I can remember feeling is exhaustion. I didn't shed one tear. Is that a bad thing?

The process has been a whirlwind, and we are glad to be almost settled in our new 1300 sq ft basement "apartment." aka..."The Basement". That is what we call it. We have been finishing Adam's sister's basement for the past few months and we are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. The cabinets are in, the showers work, and we can flush the toilets. Only a few mirrors to hang, tubs to caulk, and paint touch-ups and then we will be sittin' pretty!

We had a great crew to help us move!

These guys were lots of help too!
